REACTING TO HUA CHENYU - Heaven || UK REACTION 

Hello! So glad you reacted to HuaHua's version so fast. You thought what I thought about it, Tenggri's version is raw and angry, it's about a personal matter that's eating at him, HuaHua's version is about some kind of heavenly paradise. I honestly love both versions, the first time I heard Tengri, I was as mind blown as you were, coz there's no way you can't be in front of such a powerful performance. On the other hand, HuaHua's cover is as amazing, his music arrangement, the harmonies, all those nature sounds he added, and of course his vocals. HuaHua version went immediately viral and he was highly praised for it. HuaHua was challenged to rearranged it in the show The Next in 2017, when he finally got to meet Tengri in The Singer 2018, Tengri did compliment HuaHua about it. But Heaven has been covered a lot, there's even a show where Tengri is judging several singers covering it (HuaHua wasn't there), but all singers just kind of imitated Tengri, only HuaHua did it in his own gorgeous way. Hua used “New Age” method to rearrange this song in 24hrs challenge. He added the flute piece and was going to play but realized his sing part last note overlaps with the flute first note. The cast have to find the flute player last minute. ❤️🌹🌹

I love that Hua Hua's vision brings me a beautiful sight. His beautiful voice is so ethereal and peaceful. This is the song I'll listen repeatedly.

Hello💗 Thank you for reacting to Hua Chenyu! So others have told you that he did this song for the show “The Next.” The judge/mentors are given songs by contestants. They have no idea what song they are getting and they only have 24 hours to re-arrange the song. Tengri is from Mongolia, he wrote this song because he saw his homeland being destroyed by modern development. He wrote and sings the song with a great amount of anger and pain about the destruction, and nostalgia for how pure and wild his homeland was when he was a child. Hua Hua knew two things absolutely. He knew he didn’t have Tengri’s texture of voice and he didn’t have Tengri’s experiences about his homeland. I’m fairly sure HH would have considered it disrespectful to try to call up Tengri’s pain and anger within himself, plus the show was all about rearranging a song to make it yours, so Hua Hua created this version, which is gorgeous and very much in his style. He made it soothing, yet longing and very emotional. Tengri wrote a *great* song and his 2018 Singer performance was outstanding. Hua Hua’s version in 2017 The Next was also outstanding and honored Tengri’s work. ( Fun Fact: In 2018 when they were in Singer together, Hua Hua asked Tengri to teach him how to make the wood instrument ooooooh sound with his voice. He then put that into both 7 Personalities and New World. If you listen to those songs in 2019 and 2020, you hear how he gets better and better at making that sound.) Love both versions...Tengri powerful, raw, angry...Hua's version beautiful, emotional, sweet longing. What is on my playlist is Hua's version. It is more soothing for my soul and I just love his warm vocals.

I love both versions of this song very much. Tengri's more raw somekind angry version and HuaHua's more heavenly, peaceful but also powerful version. Totally different emotions in both versions. HuaHua was challengend to rearrange and perform this song in only 24 hours. He even composed and added the flute part. He planned to play the flute himself but through the rehearsal he realised he can't.... because the flute part starts before his last singing note ends 😅. The flute was the first instrument he learned to play. They have an aim in their mind on how to sing this song to get to the emotion that they wanted. And I think they did it. Both different imagery and emotion is as you can see and feel. There is no way I can vote... and with that note I will do what HuaHua does when he cannot choose. I abstain. 🤣🤣🤣

For Foreigners, Tengri’s version is more impressionable because his vocal timbre sounds so raw. Hua’s version is a beautiful smooth ethereal version. I don’t think Hua would be offended if we picked Tengr’s version over his. Lol.

Loved your reaction! Hua Hua (his nickname) sang this during episode 2, season 2 of “The Next”. This was a show where contestants got to challenge judges (famous musicians) in a sing-off. The challenged judge had to perform a song which was selected by the contestant. They only had 24 hours to learn and rearrange the song, while the contestant could sing a song of their own choosing. Hua Hau was given “Heaven” to learn and rearrange. If you are going to react to the songs he sang in the Singer 2018 performances, Hua Hua (his nickname) said that each song he performed in Singer 2018 represented a step in his life. He started in the Singer in episode 4. 'Qi Tian' (ep4 - his first performance) - his birth (descending). 'Child' (ep5) - his maturation. 'Nunchucks' (ep6) - his rebellious side. 'I don't care' (ep7) - his disdain. 'Flammable and explosive' (ep8) - what people want from him. 'Mountain and sea' (ep9) - his disappointment after he tried opening up to the outside world. 'Fake monk' (ep10) - his inner struggle and his effort to save himself (see below**) 'Ordinary road' (ep11) - his resolution to face himself. To me too Tenggers Heaven is one of the best performances ive ever heard. Hcy is beautiful and brilliant but too much flowers and butterflies… until the end… when he takes off… im all happy. ( and im obsessed with hcy)

Both are different feel. Tengri is organic but I feel like I am stepping into heaven when listening to Hua version. I still Just love him especially his high notes 😊

I am a huge Hua Chenyu fan, but I like Tengri's version more. Love both, but prefer Tengri's ☺ It is simply awe inspiring💖 This is not the Singer show, it is a show called The Next. Here the professional singer gets challenged by amateur singers to rearrange a song in 24 hours. Hua Chenyu participated in Singer 2018 with KZ and Tenger, this was before Singer 2018.

I love both versions. Tengri's always brings a tear to my eyes and I will watch Hua Hua's right after. I want to introduce you to a new singer... who also sang Heaven... with Tengri. His name is Zhou Shen (Zhou sounds like Joe). He's amazing and I discovered him on Singer 2020 and he blew me away. His voice never fully descended when he hit puberty and was bullied for it. He was told he didn't have the look of a celebrity (he's 5'3) and put aside his dream of singing to study dentistry in the Ukraine. But, he never took to it and enrolled in the music school. His voice is so special and makes me emotional at times, and I don't often get emotional. He's a very sweet and humble person. He's also versatile (this is just the tip of the iceberg with him), sings in about 12 languages and speaks several. After you react to Big Fish, I would suggest reacting to Zhou Shen and Tengri singing together. They combined Big Fish and Heaven. Ok. I just went to check out more of this guy and I was actually disappointed. This is probably the only song I like but even then it is hard not want something a lot more, like Dimash would give, more depth, more color. This is “nice” but not riveting, captivating like Dimash. So hard when you have listened to perfection to settle for less. Dimash does a song with tengri. I will go check it out
