The Huayhuash is the ultimate Peru trek. About 5 hours from Huaraz, is this stunning multi-day trek which can take from 4-10 days depending on your pace and which circuit you take. Huaraz is a great base to get acclimated before your trek. Harry and I did the Laguna 513 and Aquiscocha hike to get ready for our Huayhuash Trek.
I am a channel who hikes. I go to places like the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Patagonia, Nepal, Mexico, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Colorado, Washington, Yellowstone. I have traveled to every country I the world.

Another great adventure and video, thanks for sharing them! I did some climbing in the Blanca before and since Touching the Void been thinking about going to Huayhuash. Based on all the videos I saw, though, the Blanca seems to have more stunning mountain views-am I wrong? Huayhuash has the lakes and the remoteness going for it, though.

Huayhuash does have amazing lakes along the way. I don't think you can go wrong with either!

Great video! Did you take any additional form of water treatment? I have read that viruses may be present in this area due to livestock etc.. Thanks

Hello, Thank you for the wonderful video showing the beauty of Huayhuash. I am wondering which shorter route you took e.g. starting point and ending point? I am planning to do a shorter Huayhuash trek in May. Thank you!

Hi Becky. Glad you enjoyed the video. I started at Quartelhuain and would recommend finishing at Llamac. You can cut out the Jahuacocha to Paso Rondoy part on the northern part of the loop to shorten it.
