I like to put the Heroic Epic in the same coastal city that has Moai Statues. Then I build a drydock there and can churn out the naval units from that city. It might be a particularly good idea in this situation where a strong navy is required for success.

i think this starting location left you plenty of leeway to beeline or at least go for a fairly early optics. with that you could have prioritized circumnavigation, potentially around the pole areas without meeting anyone. particularly with that, frigates until this point are by far the most efficient defense units, are they not? especially with airships! two stacks of say 8 frigates with airships scouting, what can get past that? and then if you prioritize more navy techs early, you can extend that and always defend yourself with pretty much only ships. idk about deity but on immortal ive made pretty good experiences with naval superiority.

Henrik - Why don't you prebuild units as you hit an upgrade tech like AL, so that they upgrade automatically?
