I was thinking the same, these highlight are giving a completely wrong image about how the match really went. Berrettini controlled the whole match and it was never in doubt that he gonna win it.

Djokovic's not gonna play for that long. Once he is sure that his grand slam record is out of reach of anyone, he'll retire. I think he'll lose motivation to continue and he'll see no point in extending his career. The only reason Federer is still playing at 40 is to keep his slam record safe for as long as he can. Otherwise he would have retired long ago. Although I think Nadal can play longer to chase Djokovic. It's all about the slam count for the Big 3 now.

With this Berettini's game I don't think that could help Djokovic. He did not play so good today, and if he wants to win Italian must play much better.

Berrettini is a mini version of Del Potro. Perhaps very little chance of winning the title. But Novak has to focus still. Hope Novak could win and dump Fed and Rafa in the record chase.

@@ladaffodilion Berrettini is very similar to Del Potro, but in my opinion has a better voley and is very dangerous at the moment..Grass is more suitable for his game....Delpo did not have so much success on grass....

Hurkacz won a Masters 1000 tournament against the likes of Tsitsipas, Rublev and Sinner this season+He won a atp250 as well this season

well Nadal was out, Federer is 40 and after surgeries, Tsitsipas who has been the most consistent of the new gen this year was unprepared after his first GS final.. lots of other absences or underperformances.. there was a lot of space for lots of players to reach higher grounds

@@EvaJK Next gen's worst surface is Wimbledon by far. Tsitsi/Med/Thiem/Zverev are all pretty meh on grass. On hard court theyre all fantastic, I think US Open will be hardest for Novak to win, so many threats to look out for and US Open has been won least by the big 3 out of all other slams (All up they've won 12 times, whereas French Open they won 16 times, AO 16 times, and Wimb 15 times. On clay obviously, tsitsi, thiem, zverev all really strong. Once Federer was out I think Novak was basically 100% confirmed to win Wimbledon. Berrettini can win, certainly, but i don't think so.

We have said this so many times in like every match novak played against a non-big 3 player. Novak has won every single time lol, even when he plays like 80% of his best. That 2020 AO final vs Thiem he played so badly and still won, the French final he was down 0-2 to Tsitsi and then smashed him in the next 3 sets, the finals vs Del Potro and Kevin Anderson in 2018 he 3-0ed them both, 2021 AO he smashed Medvedev - Berrettini basically needs to do something that nobody else other than Roger, Rafa, Andy and Stanimal have done to Novak. Good luck to him
