Sadly the numbers will never stack up for Andy to be considered as the 4th great male player of his era. The three of them have all said separately though that at his best he was equal to them and he had his moments didn't he! This was the greatest moment of his career in terms of achievement. Home crowd, impossible pressure, impossible task, impossible foe made to look relatively easy on this occasion. More than just a footnote in his era with what he achieved in the face of adversity always having to compete with them. If Roger, Rafa and Novak were god level in their era then there was only one Pope. People will argue about Stan because of the numbers but he could not consistently compete with them and achieve the results Andy did. As a Brit I'll always be so proud of Andy Murray 💙 🤍

Most tennis players encounter partisan crowds; although the crowd was on Murray's side the weight of expectation must have been huge considering the last time a Brit won the men's singles was in the 1930s. Finding out that Andyand Jamie Murray attended Dunblane primary school on that tragic day increased my respect for both of them.

Rafael Nadal in his worst form also he beated Andy Murray on indoor hard courts in 2015 atp tour finals What was he doing when Federer and Rafael Nadal both dominating the tennis sport from 2006 to 2010 How many major titles did he won not only that how many times he beated Rafael Nadal in Wimbledon 2008,2010,2011. Grass is favorite surface of Murray right in that the Prime Rafael Nadal beated him 3 times in Wimbledon in front of his British crowd only. Just be happy that Rafael Nadal is finished on grass from 2012 to 2017 In 2018 rafael Nadal roar like a 🦁 and broke the shield to win 3rd Wimbledon title but lost to Djokovic in semis which was very intense and close match which was one of the best Wimbledon semifinals in tennis sport history. British crowd is bothering Djokovic but it didn't bother Rafael Nadal as they are very polite and kind towards Rafael Nadal. Andy Murray is great tennis player but not best tennis player at all OK He lost 8 grandslam finals to djoko and Federer. Andy Murray reached Wimbledon finals in 2012 is because Nadal was cheated and betrayed by his knees and closing the roof in 5th set by Wimbledon officials to break Nadal Rhythm and momentum so that he doesn't become threat to Murray in future. Bloody Politics OK Even Ivan lendl as a coach can't do anything to stop rafael Nadal also. Rafael Nadal is finished on grass in 2013 not 2012 as he is still same one who reached 8 grandslam finals from 2010 to 2012 and one who reached Wimbledon finals 5 times Rafael Nadal plays bad first week and best in 2nd week at Wimbledon. I am not sure he is going to win 3rd Wimbledon title in 2012 or not but he was one of the most favorite player to win Wimbledon 2012 title That's why tennis fans were shocked after his early exit in Wimbledon 2012. It was not expected at all when he won 4th set 6-2 and lost 5th set like that as he always survive 5 setter matches since 2006 Hence Rafael Nadal is finished on grass in 2013 not 2012 OK. Andy Murray is great tennis player but not best player after big 3 players.

Pripegala Pobedonosni Certainly Djokovic is in stellar form right now. The French Open should be very interesting this year. Murray's looking really good again for the first time since 2013, but does he have enough in the tank to beat Djoker? Mentally Djok still has the edge, and there are so few weaknesses in his game. (The only one I can think of is overheads; he's terrible at them.)
@TitanFind
@TitanFind 9 лет назад
Pripegala Pobedonosni Murray has the game to match Djokovic, but only if his mental strength is 100%. You can guarantee that Djokovic is going to be strong, in every match. The Australian Open final was bizarre. Murray fought his way back into the match, looked like he was forging just ahead...and then collapsed, in the face of some fairly routine head-games from Djoker. No way should Murray have imploded like that. The final set was that of a man who had simply given up and wanted to get off court.

Djokovic was extremely tired from a nearly 5 hour semi with a nearly prime Del Potro. Murray had an easy draw, so he was less tired physically, but still played really well with the pressure in the final ...

@@TomSmith-gw6fn I'm not a Djokovic fan, I'm a Federer Fan. Murray played well, but there's no denying that semi had a big impact on him. Playing 5 hours on grass is tiring. Federer and Djokovic got badly injured after a 5 hour Wimby final, and couldn't recover until at least Cincinnati, so a similarly long match with Delpo and two days rest would be the reason. Delpo was also the reason Murray won the Olympics in 2012, and Nadal tired Delpo to help him in 2016. Then Federer tired out Raonic in Wimbledon 2016. tbh, Murray has won his best matches after his opponent had a very tough semi final and very little rest apart from USO 2012.

Ivan Lendl will go down as one of the greatest tennis coaches of all time. Taking a man who'd lost all previous grand slam finals without putting a set on the board; and as a pair achieving 8 grand slam finals with 3 wins, x2 Olympic gold medals, ATP Tour Finals win AND being ranked World No. 1 in 2016 - all during the greatest & most dominated era of men's tennis we'll likely ever see. An incredible achievement given the competition.
