I usually don't comment on any of these FG videos, but the title is misleading. It should be KaneBlueRiver's Combo Exhibition. I'm not sure why MarlinPie's name is there, really.
Tier-wise, they say that Hulk is mid to low tier. But if used well, Hulk is by far, the most powerful character in the game. Hands down. He's the only character to be able to one-touch any character, without any kind of help. And his playstyle reflects his character perfectly. Simple, yet powerful.
although marlin's execution was definitely subpar in this video, i don't want to take anything away from kane.. guy definitely brought his A-game here.
The entire time I watched this, I was waiting for Guile's theme to kick in, and for MarlinPie to make a sick, swag comeback... It... never... came..... :-(
KBR is so crispy. There are so many mechanics that he is doing that is not flashy or explicitly shown. An example is the corner self otg, it is spacing and character dependent.
I just kept repeating, "Humiliation" every time Pie got beat down. Haggar kicked a bear's ass, so a puppy was no match. Pie, sit on a chair next time. Kane was Satan in this matchup. My hero.
Lol I love how everyone is calling MarlinPie bad because he was playing against two characters with absurd invincibility frames (i.e. Hulk Heavy attacks and Haggar Assist). Every time he catches Kane, invincibility frames save the day.
Jeez I love Kane bodying anyone in umvc3, wish I would face him for a fun time with my hulk as well. For you combo lovers with em Vergil's, Dante's and Dr.Doom's and whatnot, Get bodied punks lol.
I thought there was a set already. There are videos of him vs Kusoru, Abegen, etc. from his most recent trip to Japan. The vids are uploaded under the user of "gostuntv". Their channel has the sets of him FT30 against some japanese players.
Damn i never thoight id say this but marlin got BODIED!! Kanes team would shit on fooblats too he got the whole hulk/haggar thing down exactly how its supposed to be done. Crazy
Hulk has little ways to get in besides his charge. Its not long range either. Its incredibly punishable at long range. Marlin could have just zoned Hulk out. His gamma charge is just a small way to zone but no way to get in. Besides, it needs a charge. Hulk is fine where he's at in health. Same for Sent.
It really all depends on what happens the first few seconds of that match, if marlin messes up in the beginning its over for viper. That match up is only hard for viper in the very beginning
I have no idea. Perhaps he's trying to use some rapid fire normal + assist because at the start of the room you either take a grab or a take an H. Apparently he doesn't know that the best thing to do is to take the grab.
I don't play Marvel much, but when I do, Hulk's the only character I can do a decent job of using. I'm glad to see the combos I do are pretty much reflected here, though not surprisingly the assists bring them to a whole other level. It almost makes me want to get more practice in the game... almost. I still think the "true rules" of the game are not to my taste. 1 light tap leads to near-lethal combo most of the time.
Surely using x factor to get an infinite is better than just having to TAC? The x factor infinite is there to compensate for ammy's bad dmg, most characters have x factor infinites but there is no point in using them.
Most lists have him around the middle. Fairly accurate from what I've seen of him, because his mobility isn't very good, he has a hard time fighting people like Magneto that can move across the entire screen in a matter of seconds, and just overall loses to runaway.
Marlinpie got bodied because his whole team is a single hitting team. Kane blue river has two characters with super armor attacks and a near invincible assist. That plus he was being impatient on trying to rush down kbr. Kbr saw through that shit and owned that match.
@6:25 That is Marlin! Stuff like that is why Him, Yipes, Alukard and Moons are my favorite players! But Marlin's my top-guy; His will to style and win, and it just seems he injects himself into the characters he plays--no one more fun to watch, win or lose! I hope he picks up a new team. Just to see what he comes up with. That being said, Kane is one bad mo' fo'! No meter kills...man, that's rough. Good stuff to both players! But beware: The swag will return llooll!
