I’ve been wanting to make a video on this topic for a long time because what I’m about to tell you could potentially have drastic effects on the overall quality of life. I’m talking about the true fountain of youth - the one hormone in your body that is considered by many to be the most powerful one in terms of your health, longevity and overall looks and physique. It’s called human growth hormone and is in short responsible for muscle growth as well as fat loss, strength, anti-aging, longevity, regeneration and repair of the cells in both your body and brain.

I already do the first 2 when I am on keto. The keto diet mimics our natural winter diet, the one we are all preparing ourselves for by cramming carbs in the summer. Of course most people these days are on the summer diet all year round.

After months of lockdown and over eating and then catching covid, I gained 30lbs. Not to mention the 20lbs over, from the years before. The covid left me a fat - weak - mess. I started watching these videos. I did five 48 hour fasts back to back, and one three day fast. After that eating once a day was easy. By the time I’m ready to eat I’m so hungry the good food I shunned before, now seems like a treasure. I’m working up to the intense workouts he talks about. I’ve done a lot of walking. I’ve lost forty lbs. in three months. I’m off all meds. Keeping insulin low is the way to go.

This is one of those "less than 7 minute videos" that EVERY single human being should watch!!! Seriously - in under 7 minutes, you managed to cram so much vital information relating to health, diet, aging and basic biology and biochemistry - all in a clear, concise and easy-to-understand language, along with great animations and charts... Bravo! You have yourself a new sub.

No. I don't think I've seen this much pseudoscience in one video since I watched VShred. I can't believe people are still circulating this myth that fasting increases HGH anywhere close to a level that muscle building will be enhanced. Although it does slightly raise HGH, it is to a negligible degree and has little to no effect on muscle growth. The missed opportunity for protein synthesis during that fasting window has a very negative impact on muscle gain though. And btw, the old guy shown in the thumbnail is almost certainly on something to boost his testosterone, and it ain't lots of sleep.
@shtroizn
@shtroizn 3 года назад
@@geoffhamann5081 To be honest, muscle building isn't the issue that concerns me. Fasting allows the body to totally rest, including the digestive system, which takes up a lot of energy. Also, no food = no insulin = hgh production. As for the levels, this is most likely different with every human beings. Some can't fast, they will feel so bad that they will simply have to eat. Everyone is different. But fasting can be a powerful method to heal faster. Most people (and animals) when sick - have no appetite. It's our body's natural way to signal that it needs time off from the energy-hungry digestive process in order to heal. Sleep is fasting after all and when ill - you need more sleep and rest.
@Crownholder
@Crownholder 3 года назад
you should also consider that somethings here cost money. There are extreme poor people around the world you cannot afford even 5 Dollar for everything else that food. Tere are some people who live from 5 dollar. Heck there are poeple who even have to live on 1 f@ucking dollar. And we in the western world want to live forever. Those people just want to live our normal sh*it lifes. And we now want to sleep with melatonin? Enchancing our sleep?
@geoffhamann5081
@geoffhamann5081 3 года назад
@@shtroizn Absolutely. I completely agree that, if it makes you feel good, do it! What I have a problem with, is this misinformation that fasting releases GH and makes you anabolic etc. That's the opposite of what is true. When you fast, you are catabolic. Plain and simple. IF your goal is to build muscle and strength, you should not be fasting. Fasting can be great for feeling good and losing weight if, and it's a big IF, you do it properly. If you look through this comment section you can see how many people are duped by this faulty logic that fasting aids in muscle growth. I tried intermittent fasting while working out and playing sports. The only thing it did was rob me of my muscle and strength.

The key to Super Sayjin mode is to simply live like a cave man, run and move like one, consume natural foods, go sleep when it’s dark, and wake when it’s light, be in tune with nature, eating everyday is not natural . This is true. But not entirely. Not all of our primitive ancestors lived in cave's. Yes we fasted, but not because food wasn't abundant. But because we knew that fasting was the key to longevity, and also disciplined our flesh to not be tempted by greed, lust, selfishness, gluttony, and other sins. We didn't have the diseases we have today because fasting gives the body the ability to naturally heal and to regenerate. Great statement. "God Status"

There is a problem with step 3 and that is to take melatonin before sleep. Yes, it will make you sleep better and faster but the problem is that you build a tolerance to that supplement and you will have to constantly increase the dosage to get the same effect, and your body will adapt to this and will stop secreting its own melatonin, and if you will stop taking this supplement you won't be able to sleep and your sleep will have a poor quality.

I used to take melatonin every night for about 4 months. I started having extremely vivid nightmares that had lingering effects after I woke up (I was on a plane that was crashing, had a pipe with weed in it, smoked it and got high, then drank water that turned scalding hot, woke up high and feeling that I had burnt my mouth). I'm not sure how safe it is to take melatonin supplement for prolonged periods of time. GABA does not have any significant studies backing it, most are small 40 people studies which are also out of date.
@thenew4559
@thenew4559 4 года назад
@@TinyTalesBookClub , that's definitely not normal for melatonin use. Melatonin use is completely safe for long periods of time, the only downside to it is that if you use it regularly you can become dependent on it, needing to take greater and greater quantities to fall asleep. It is best not to use it every night, only on nights when you aren't tired or need to get in a certain amount of sleep before waking up early. It is good to have around for this purpose, just not for nightly use.

With men, there are four major pulsations of growth hormone. Approximately 10 p.m., 12 a.m., 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.. With women, their release of growth hormone is diurnal. It's happens during daylight hours and is more or less constant. Despite the differences, sleep is incredibly important for youthfulness; and as far as growth hormone is concerned, a good night sleep is especially important for men.

6. 1 gram - 3 grams of Crystalline Niacin (Vitamin B3) consumed in a fasted state will cause a ~ 3x to 5x increase in GH after about 5 hrs. So you must take in conjunction with Intermittent fasting and take at the middle of the fast. Any lipids in the blood completely stops the GH secretion. Has the added benefit of increasing high density lipo proteins (HDL) in the blood as well

Good list but the "Don't eat breakfast" idea I have to disagree with, if you want to promote muscle growth. Definitely eat some protein for breakfast since you haven't had any protein for at least 8 hours while you were asleep. Also, to reduce insulin spikes, include berries and fruit (like apple) and veggies for fiber in your meals.

Nice quick summary. Enhance sleep by removing blue light before going to bed. Low red light helps you to trigger melatonin, blue light wakes you up. Go bed at the same time every night. meditation is a good idea to reduce stress. eat a very low carb diet at 12 noon and 4 pm will help you to fast longer naturally every day. Exercise by walking 60 min a day. We need to burn fat and lower sugar (carbs) intake. Of course we need sugar in our blood 4-7 is normal, no sugar and we are dead. Our liver takes care of that. No booze.

Great! I would add boron (along with other minerals like iodine, selenium, lots of magnesium and water) Testosterone goes hand in hand with HGH. Iodine helps the thyroid and does many other things as does magnesium. Selenium is needed by the thyroid also and is strong anticancer

"GH Releasers and Boron: Is Boron Really an Anabolic? Do boron supplements really have anabolic effects? Can a boron supplement be used with GH releasers? Yes, boron supplements substantially increase the testosterone levels of experimental animals, both male and female, and it also worked in a clinical study on female humans. (Nielsen, 1987) A reasonable dose for a healthy human adult is about 3 milligrams of boron per day. You can get about this amount of boron in a diet that is high in green, leafy vegetables, fruit, legumes, and nuts. Testosterone alone does not produce nearly the increase in muscle mass as the same amount of testosterone combined with a GH releaser that produces similar levels of GH to that of an exercising teenager. Note: According to the scientists at the U.S. Department of Agriculture who did the boron research, a variety of vitamin and mineral deficiencies can interfere with boron's testosterone increasing effects. We recommend taking a good multivitamin and mineral supplement." I take 1/8 tsp of borax (laundry borax) roughly every day. Some take 1/4 tsp. borax is clean stuff, but do your own research. This is not advice.

its the most convient way to eat enough if you have a busy schedule... if you dont eat breakfast, arent at home for over half of the day, not eating at the morning, not eating at the afternoon.. if you arent fasting, or dont know/care about nutrition, just by skipping one meal you would be screwed, and that can easily turn into an habit. The solution? eat a healty breakfast, the most important meal of the day.

Hit029, I once worked with a GM that had a very stressful job. He never was stressed. I had to ask him, "How come you never seem stressed?" His answer was, "Stress is what you make of life, you make stress, it is how you approach life that increases or decreases your stress." So, think of it this way, "If you died today, how long would it take for your employer to replace you and how important were you to that job?" Not important at all because you will be replaced immediately.... In other words, quit thinking you are so important or need to control all the things around you and your stress levels will come down. Break life down like this. Start with the Universe and all the Stars (Trillions of stars out there), then the planets that are around those stars, then the galaxies that are in the Universe (Trillions of Galaxies), then the solar systems within the galaxies, then the planets in the solar system, then the creatures on one of those planets, then the cells in one of those creatures and then the atoms that make up that cell, then the proton, neutron and electrons that make up that atom. Now, how important are you really???? Stress gone, once you realize how small you are in the puzzle of life.

While most of your points are true, advicing people to take melatonin and gaba pills like chewing gums without a proper endocrinologist surveillance is not acceptable. Yes, some hormones may have the beneficial effects in a way that acting like a "natural boost" but you have to consider that these are not some simple in-out mechanisms. Almost every hormone has complex biochemical mechanisms that takes part in the endocrine system. People might face immense adverse effects and the severity can change from person to person via genetic and enzymatic diversity.

Taking Melatonin at night totally messes me up. It causes me to lose about 4 to 5 hours of sleep. I will sleep until about 3:30 and wake up, not being able to sleep until the next day usually, or late in the morning, past where I will have started being productive in the day. The simplest, cheapest and easiest way I have ever found to increase melatonin is getting glasses that block out the wavelength of light responsible for melatonin's cessation (and conversely, the production of melatonin when it is absent). You can get some for about $13 online.

It’s a complicated chemical process. In a nutshell, when gaba goes through a fermentation process with the help of friendly bacteria, it can cross the BBB. It’s more effective than ordinary gaba, but more expensive. I myself have tried both and found pharma gaba works for me but not ordinary gaba. Better sleep, more focused, and more relax. It may also help people trying to taper off benzo. You can google it and found out more about it.
