The gods of the world from Greek mythology all gather every one thousand years to make one important decision. Whether or not to wipe out mankind. Anime Name: Record Of Ragnarok
Adam truly took _"I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees."_ to the next level and died standing for his children, igniting hope like a blazing inferno in their hearts. He even humbled the King of the Gods. No one could've set a better example as to what humanity is capable of.
I find it funny when they say he was originally going fight shiva. But then the stronger Zeus decided to participate. Most of the mythology about Zeus was about him f***ing "something" or another. And about shiva, until just few years ago there was form of in the kaal bhairav temple. This form was worshipped by people every morning with human ashes. It's truly not a god people went for wishes or for praying. It was a form that was there so you take one look at it and realise that your ultimate fate is death. One day you too gonna be ashes. Shiva is definitely a god that was taken more seriously by the people. He's described as the god of nothingness he has no form or nature yet everything orignates from him. He thinks existence isn't even a Speck of dust for him who is above time and space. He source of all consciousness, and he is the one for whom birth and destruction are the same thing.
@@pratikkawade4861 with all due respect Zeus and lord Shiva are deemed as gods for a reason our mortal minds cannot quantify the power of any GOD , they should all be treated with utmost Respect coz we human don't come close to the power and might they hold and you shouldn't be blinded by your mortal beliefs.
@@divitgaming6959 are you even listening to yourself. Listen to this. We can calculate the total amount of energy our sun has. Even though it releases enough energy every second to fulfill humanities needs for years. We don't have to come close to it's power level to know how powerful it is. Yes if you ask how big is a billion, I won't be able to imagine it correctly but I can surely write it down. Because mortals can do maths. If both of their strengths are unquantifiable then they shouldn't have been compared. It's like comparing two undefined mathematical quantities. Because they have been compared to show that zues is stronger, that means their strengths are quantifiable. We just don't yet have a unitary system to represent it in numbers. It's like saying the strengths of acids isn't quantifiable, until the point someone invented the PH system. And yes the funny bit is where you say that don't be blinded by your mortal believes. Everything you said is your mortal believe, including this sentence. This sentence disaproves of it self. All these things sound good in literature novels, but they have no meaning. If you want to seem smart by saying those, you can't. At the end of it, no disrespect. I've done similar things in the past.
@@pratikkawade4861 ngl I was trying not to say and disrespect God's we have never seen a God, have U? We don't know if they even exist scientifically but yet ur involving science in a matter of belief I respect ur belief but u have know that we can calculate the suns mass and energy out put based on concrete facts well you can't provide concrete and true facts abt each and every Gods overall strength bruh , man u gotta listen to your self using science in a matter of belief and ur pure audacity to bring in science when science doesn't really regard God as a entity
"Hatred"? "Revenge"? I don't need any of that. There is no reason why. Is there any man that needs a reason to protect his own children?' - Adam This is the first fictional character to ever make me come close to crying, big respect to how they wrote him.
I believe that from a story stand point I'm almost glad he "lost" the way he did. It made all the fight after his all the more emotional. (But he still put Zeus on his a%$, even after dying. 110% should have won)
Yeah me too but then they wouldn't be able to show zeus being a whiny spoil brat that was jealous of humanity and feared them, out of all the stories and yes even Kratos' story does it right he was just a spoiled whiny brat that wanted everything to go his way so Adam showed the gods, humanity, and us audience how petty and pitiful he was.
Nah. Him losing gives more meaning. Besides, Zeus already complimented Adam. He said it himself "If this would have been a battle of endurance he himself would've lost.". Meaning although humans are weak their fighting spirit and will never die.
I like how they included Musashi (no idea how to spell his name so i hope thats correct) in this. He was a real life legendary swordsmen in feudal Japan. Wrote a book called the book of five rings. Interesting read for anyone wanting to know more about the lifestyle and mindset of warriors back then.
He forgot to say the most important part. The part where Adam said ‘even your asking me that’. “Hatred”?”Revenge”? ‘ I don’t need any of that there is no reason why. Is there any man that needs a reason to protect his own children
i liked the Poseidon vs Sasaki Kojiro fight, but to be honest, Poseidon was one of the most boring ass Gods in record of ragnarok, like i expected the God of the sea to use moves that uses water or the ocean, not just thrusting his trident faster and faster.
My headcannon(bc we know next to nothing regarding the details of the Ragnarok Clause) is that this tournament is melee only. With the exception of White Death and whoever he fights(White death is historys deadliest sniper with a 500 plus confirmed kill count) But I think that as part of the fighting rules. No god is allowed to use their actual powers unless the situation calls for it. It's bad enough no mortal weapon can hurt these guys. Otherwise the fights would be one sided. So! Unless in the event two deities Duke it out! (I'm a manga reader) any god that uses their powers immediately forfeits.
It makes sense to have Poseidon to not use his powers as he sees Sasaki beneath him and to use his powers of water would be to acknowledge a human being worthy of such effort.
@@Jojo_needs_more_hair record of ragnarok, i reccomend it so much, i remember watching it a long time ago and its still my 2nd fav anime! Naruto takes 1st, the anime is good in any way possible, im just excited for jack the ripper vs hercules.
The Zeus vs Adam explanation was good but here's some more info: Adam's eyes got strained from not being able to blink because if he did Zeus' punches would hit (basically Zeus was punching very fast)(Also each of his punches were lethal) According to the manga, during the final moments of the Zeus vs Adam fight (when they were punching each other) the whole stadium was silent. This is important because usually the god like creatures in the stadium would insult the human or the humans would insult the god, but in this case everyone was silent. It wasn't said but shown, but for those who didn't see: Adam lost because when he punched Zeus, some of Zeus' blood landed in his eye which led to Zeus landing a 1 punch kill. Just read the manga it's better imo
Honestly they are doing a decent job of doing 1 to 1 from manga to anime, problem is that in the manga you don't mind sitting around readin tons of background details and stories, but in an animation it feels... really lazy to have about a 5:1 scaling for Lore:Action which is probably why it's not a very popular show but a popular manga.
I love how the story makes fall in love with all of it's characters and get invested in everyone. I was watching the Adam fight for a second time, after having watched the manga version, and was cheering for him. I knew the outcome of the fight and was still cheering. When you realize just how awesome all the characters are and just how much you can get out of them it's crazy. Poseidon could have been a Vegeta to Kojiro's goku if he had lived. They take liberties but come on, how many animes let you see Jack the ripper duking it out with Hercules. The only thing I am scared of is how this series is going to end because I have a really sad idea that might happen.
Adam was so forcibly and blatantly robbed of his well deserved victory by pure plot that I actually stopped watching the anime after it and haven’t watched it ever since because of how mad I was and still am.
One flaw I see, that if he was created perfectly in the image of gods, how come his eyes could get overused? I haven't seen that applied to any of the gods, they're "perfect" after all. It's not an ultimate skill either like the one zeus was using, and to be perfectly honest that also seems ridiculous to me, so why would it suddenly have a limit? It feels to me like they decided at the last minute adam was gonna lose and just smacked a time limit on it.
How did he well deserve that victory?? He's using a very over powered ability which is the only way he even stood for that long. It was fair that he lost very closely.
@@Clairvoyant0 well for starters but most importantly. His ability is irrelevant to wether he deserved it or not, but regardless of that he literally snapped Zeus neck 180º, a fatal wound because you know, even the gods thought he had died. Even when Zeus entered his final form he beat the hell out of him for a while until out of plot convenience a drop of blood fell into his over heated eyes and now he is blind... BUT even as he was blind and receiving Zeus ultimate form punches, which denotes extreme durability and strength for Adam (and it’s proof that he would have stood a chance even without his eyes) he still managed to grab Zeus and return to him as menu punches as he recived, so in the end, counting all the damage done, he delivered a lot more damage to Zeus than Zeus to him, not only that, but he was actually the one standing tall at the end. Oh yeah and Adam was fighting to protect, Zeus for fun and bloodlust. If that doesn’t spell well deserved victory to you then idk what will. Besides if you want to use the overpowered ability as an argument then Zeus didn’t deserve to win either because of his time stopping ability, not mention plot convenient durability for surviving a fatal injury even for the gods... Adam eyes just made the fight fairer for both sides at the end.
@@sipi2009 he wasnt able to see because zeus's blood got in his eyes, and his power is like when he sees a attack. he would need full attention with 2 eyes for him to land a punch or even be able to see them. so they cant be overused, i think?
But he did; in pure, unrelenting spirit. Like he said, he needed no reason to protect his 'children'. He gave his life to prove the gods wrong, plus put one of the most famous/powerful of them right on their ass. He even technically gave his death just to keep going. He even won Zeus' respect even after he died in battle. I call that more than a win in my book.
Also some clarification, the world's greatest loser's ability of 1000 image of defense is accurate, but when he was actually fighting Poseidon he was dodging based on knowing what Poseidon was going to do. When he tried going head to head with him his sword broke
i really wish they will give more time for 2nd season in animation as this could rival highly produced animes like demon slayer as the anime was literally a powerpoint presentation and in the manga and LN the fights were literally so good.
If your femur was broken you would most certainly cry, as it is the most painful part of your body to break. I bet if you broke almost any bone in your body you would cry.
@@de_747_ not a hindu but clay seals showing Shiva and a mother goddess/durga existed around the same time as the Sumerians in the early bronze age in the Indus Valley Civilization
Zeus is actually one of the younger gods even inside Greek mythology. His older brothers and sisters were eaten by Chronos, but survived inside the Titan's stomache until Zeus and their mother came up with a plan to get Chronos to throw up all the other gods.
@@SFgamer Based on anime feats only, I'll have to agree . But in the manga, he punched a hole in a pocket dimension casually. So he can very easily solo them all at once. And Murata was asked if Saitama's punch can destroy his Universe, and he said yes. So yea. It really depends which saitama you're using.
@@FusionTM_REDRUM he already is faster than light and his punches can destroy multiple planets with ease so he could take all of them tbh the gods in this anime is not omnipitent they are more like stronger human race
I still have no idea why every anime/manga makes mjolnir this gigantic hammer.. if they did a little research they'd know that mjolnir in fact had a very stubby handle thanks to loki messing with the dwarves that forged it. But in anime it's always this monstrously big hammer.. it frustrates the eff outta me
Take a moment to remember, this is based off of Norse Mythology. These gods ARE HUGE, they’re the size of Cthulhu. Of course the hammers going to be big. Take this from somebody who has done actual research.
I stopped reading the manga after Adam died he’s actually the character that made me read it in the first place, I never cared for the other characters to begin with
"Zeus starts to get angry and uses his final attack which he learned from his father when he was a young god which is to stop time completely" STANDO POWAHHHHHH
The funniest thing to me about this manga/anime is that Zeus looks like the oldest of the Gods, even though he is the youngest of his siblings in greek mythology. Poseidon is older than Zeus but looks so much younger.
A lot of people in the comment seem to be arguing about this so I want to clarify that the Adam in this series is not the one from the Bible (because the lore of this series is based on paganism) but the one from Paradise Lost.
@@pervertteacher8867 I haven't seen the anime but I've followed the manga for years now. The backstory for Adam came straight out of Paradise Lost. His creators are the pagan gods (he was literally standing in front of and judged by the Olympic Council). Idk about the other Abrahamic figured but it would make more sense to just assume that they are in the same boat as Adam.
@@theonlyhikaru Paradise Lost is based on the Bible. It uses the Arch Angels and Lucifer in there, this manga takes a lot of liberties and each of the characters are from their own respective pantheons and lore. Either way I will say having Zeus as the top dog in this one is a nice change of pace instead of using Yahweh.
This show was so good! That last battle was amazing! I’d watch an entire series about that guy! I definitely recommend watching it. I think it’s on Netflix.
Adam had the most amazing quote in this show. "Hatred. Revenge.? No.. i don't care about any of that.. there is no reason why.. what father needs a reason to protect his vary own children." Don't even @ me.
My gripe with Zeus winning is he was so far the least interesting god in terms of fighting ability/skill and him surviving means I have to endure it again in a later fight, meanwhile Adam, who DID have an interesting ability, is gone forever.
@@jacobwansleeben3364 Because other gods could potentially(I haven't read a lot of the manga) have more interesting abilities than Zeus who up to this point, is just "I hit really hard and move really fast". It doesn't get any more basic than Zeus.
@@jacobwansleeben3364 If the series was slightly different then it could’ve had Adam fight against gods with a shitter version of his cannon ability (eyes of the lord, but he can’t perfectly mimic his opponent’s moves) forcing him to use other peoples abilities in new and eye grabbing ways
I hope the next season will be soon, I personally did not even have to watch the anime because my friend liked it so much he just spoiled eerything. Apparently the next human representative should be Jack the RIpper. Im excited.
I haven't watched Record of Ragnarok, but hey it's anime, the more popular mythologies to the Japanese audience would take precedence over the lesser known ones. Although there are some exceptions such as the Fate Series, even then, in that anime series they had balanced out their powers one way or another, whether through ability limitations or story circumstances.
This anime gives me so many mixed feelings. On one hand, it’s cool to see so many different gods portrayed, yet in the other hand, characters like brynhilde (yes it’s spelt like this) are shown so poorly, since she’s supposed to be a widowed woman, not an overly serious strategist. Thors gloves boost his power tenfold and yet in this they only buff him when he takes them Off. It would be pretty cool if they went for some cooler, historical epic characters like Sigurd(Nordic), Samson(Christian), or even Heracles or Hercules ( Roman and Greek) since they’re all respectable fighters, but why tf Adam?
@@gamephysics3943 I can understand that much, of course there are different interpretations on translations and pronunciation, but really? Brunnhildeh, with and ay sound at the end?
Adam was built different fr bro went toe to toe with the strongest God and was wining if he was able to use his power longer without consequences he probably would beat every God
If saitama obtained the eye power of adam he'd be unstoppable even if God's joined together here Also gods in this anime are just humans in creative mode
People at first are going to say it’s horrible and should’ve never existed that includes those who don’t or do read the manga and since it’s banned people are soon going to regret that it is banned and didn’t get more episodes and I’m not saying this as a guess or “If” kind of statement it’s just true facts and how people are for example: we want something, we get it with all the things we asked, we check it out and hate on it for no reason, then if this certain thing goes away we have regrets and want it back. It’s just nature
