A young human boy named William is raised & trained by three undead monsters: the mummy priestess, the skeletal knight Blood and the ghost wizard Gus. Anime Name: The Faraway Paladin
Read the manga a good while ago. It left a lasting impression. Faraway Paladin has some very strong central themes in living a good life and letting go of the past. It’s also the best example of a “Paladin” story I’ve ever seen in an Isekai. Never feels tropey and more like it’s own unique thing.
Part 2. Yes please. The story was beautiful and your narration was perfect. Thank you for sharing such beautiful anime. I've been looking for one to watch.
If I remember correctly, the “high king” you mentioned that they fought at the end wasn’t the high king, he’s sealed. The person they fought was Stagnate
New Subscriber! This is my MOST FAVORITE Anime recap I've ever Watched! Part 2 You Say? YES PLEASE! You Make Great Content 👍 Keep it up! You deserve WAY WAY WAYYY More Subs Than you currently have- people are missing out lol
I have never understood what I've wanted when it came to not knowing anything else to read or watch, although I prefer reading Manga. But, what you have done doing a trailer recap of an Anime story is so touching. That, I've realized, videos like this is all I've wanted to watch because I know there's so many animes out there. To the point where, I know I'm not going to be alive to watch all of them. That, if at least there was a "detailed trailer + introduction of the whole main story". It would be easier for me to learn what I would like to sit down and watch plus read. So I greatly thankful for being a great narrator.
This gives somewhat strong Dark Souls vibes, a world that is completely destroyed, monsters roaming around, signs of ancient civilications, lack of knowledge we get from characters, and then, mysterious gods.
I would be willing to bet a decent chunk of change that the creator of this anime is fairly large Dark Souls/Berserk fan. The character designs seem like alternate universe DS characters.
like how this series goes into the power of a word. how much words hold power when calling upon a being be god or spirit and recite incantations to cast magic. even to later when they decide to fully give will a middle and last name with how much importance/power that holds. from a book called the name of the wind (note been a long time so may botch this a bit) there is a moment the protagonist talks to one of the professors and how a name holds power. while out he gives an example and says along lines of "you in blue! come over here." and the students where blue uniforms. so handful look at him and confused while others ignore it until he said one of the students name and right there the student without hesitation comes to him and await orders or wonder why he was called. name holds power since on one hand it is a word of control. you able to order someone by saying their name while on other it also holds power of trust. a name both parties established as a truth and know each other well enough base on profession, blood, etc. another simple one is if seen enough horror films involved evil demons or spirits why is it the entity hides its name and only presents its tittle? the moment you have access to the name it can be used to control it BUT can summon it too. if summoned then be prepared to counter it be a seal or a deal. another major example is nicknames, why is it its okay for this person to allow a singular person or multiple to call them by a certain name/title instead of their actual name? one example is grandkids and grandparents from the mother and father side. depending on the established trust the grandchild will give a title to their specific grandparent like granny/gramgram for example while the other they call them grandma/grandmother. the name is a trusted contract between grandparent and grandchild. names hold power regardless if made up or in real life.
Kinda glossed over the implication of the bread/fire though.. ALL those years, every day, she was enduring torture JUST to get him some food.. rather touching.
Absolutely brilliant story that didn’t capture the attention it deserves after an unfortunately sub-par anime adaptation. I recommend anyone interested to read through the manga(since translated light novels are hard to find), as it is much better paced and gives you more time with the characters, rather than rushing through the plot.
I remember reading this manga years ago and forgetting about it after 30+ chapters. Getting recommended this now is so surreal to me. Glad it's got an anime adaption now.
An interesting take on the reincarnation anime. I just wonder if, in the end, the main character finds a human settlement and not simply left alone. Also, upon seeing the ruined city, I am reminded of the tendency for western looking architecture in fantasy animes to have a very similar look with boxy symmetrical layouts, no lips on the roofs, and features that tend to barely jut out at all.
What do you mean "tendancy for western looking architecture in fantasy animes to have a very similar look with boxy symmetrical layouts?" Do you mean the actual western ruins that inspired all these artists were boxy, or that when modern artists took cues from medieval Europe they made them boxy?
i remember when i'm reading the part where mary, the big muscle dude and gramps spending their last time with the mc i'm crying while reading it is so much emotional up until this day i still feel the nostalgia when i'm reading this.
Everything about this is amazing, just one correction though, Stagnate is not the High King, he is an Evil God, there's another name for them and their story is really cool. The High King is sealed in the ruins of the ruined city. Defiantly recommend this series though, I didn't realize it had an anime, but the manga is amazing!
I really love this anime! Just finished it today and boy i did not expect i would cry so much especially when they show blood and Mary just moment before they become Undead where they Made a promise, if they still live they would married and settled down and have a son named William GAAH my heart❤️😭😭😭
Mary is saddening, imagine thinking your goddess hates you and then she saves your friend who made a pact with her enemy to show how she understands Mary's decision... seeing Mary in that brief clip look like she is agonizing in guilt and depression over her misunderstanding was heartbreaking
what a ride.. wow.. thank you so much for making these. since i am always short on time but i still wanna watch stuff like this. you help me out a great deal..
This anime is probably one of the few that gives a wholesome like life with great story without making it sound like a high schooler story where it's pointed to drama, it gives the sense of action and interaction amongst the character to the watcher without the need for baiting them or using flashy tactics Great anime 10/10
So at first I was watching these, thinking “Why would people watch this?”. Then I was like “Yknow im interested but not interested enough, so I’ll watch this vid but not the anime…” Watching this made me realize, maybe, the main point as to why this channel exists however. At any point in time, I could stop watching this recap, and instead move on to watch the full anime instead. You do a good job recapping everything as well, without mincing words and without violet prose. In this sense, thank you for this channel! Iis so hard to find anime these days with how much there is. Some good ones im not interested in, some bad ones I know I’ll enjoy. This is the main place, besides perhaps a few anitubers, that I will go in order to find anime worth watching!
Definitely one of the best takes on the whole Isekai thing. Surprised to see it has an anime though. Always surprised when people start talking about manga I’ve known for years...
I watched until 1:09 then stopped, I immediately searched this up and I've just finished watching it. Worth watching for sure! Give it a chance. The Faraway Paladin.
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!!! I LUV THE MANGA TO THIS🤩🤩.... but havent been able to keep up lately 😓!!!!!! Didnt know they made it into an anime cant wait to watch it later!
