Hello from Israel! I want to let you know that when you make hummus, take your garbanzos and put them in a pan and bring it to a simmer for a few minutes, just to heat it through. Then, continue as you have. The resulting hummus will be less grainy. Love your passion, keep up the good work.
I am allergic to chickpeas but can eat other beans, go figure. I am going to try this for sure. I also just saw a video that uses roast zucchini. You’ve opened up my choices to enjoy this amazing appetizer. Tanks!
Hi from Lebanon, 1st of all hummus means chickpeas in Arabic, so when you use a different bean you can't call it hummus anymore , the real name is hummus bi tahini that's mean hummus with tahini. 2nd as I saw in the video there is small grains in the hummus you must boil the beans and put them immediately in the processor you start blending and you start putting the other ingredients then you put some ice cubes and that will make it a lot creamier. By the way you are the king of Spanish cuisine and your recipes are amazing.
So far I've made the second and fourth hummus shown in the video. For both I used kidney beans and they both sent me to hummus heaven. You can easily switch the bean-bases and get delicious hummus every time. 😊
Bro, you are absolutely my favorite chef on YT! I'm a chef and I'll tell you, your enthusiasm and positive vibe is terribly contagious. Love your show.
Yum! They all look really great. I recently made a 'hummus' with big white lima beans, toasted sesame oil, tamari, ginger, red chili sauce, garlic, rice vinegar. It was pretty good!
Wow...being a pure vegetarian, I was looking at various recepies to up my protein intake. I mixed these with finely sliced veggies and wow..what a sandwich it made....thanks a ton💚💚
What makes your channel so good is the simplistic way you cook, and the easy to understand instructions, not as easy as some might think to explain, we always remember a good teacher....Brilliant.
Alberto, these look great! Here's a variation on the white bean one that I like to make. Instead of roasted red peppers, add pickled jalapenos, if you can get them. Really delicious.
This video has totally changed my perspective of hummus! Thanks! Have you considered using dried beans so you can avoid all the preservatives? You can't really rinse it away.
I ran across this video because I'm looking for a good recipe for black bean hummus. My sons buy a store bought version that actually doesn't look to have anything bad in it but just thought I would see if I could make one that tastes as good....it is really good
Thanks so much for such terrific ideas! I haven't thought to use beans other than garbanzo when making hummus. Now I have to try it - guess I'll check my pantry for ingredients today. Your recipes are always such a treat. Thanks again -
Love the last one and looking forward to trying it.... I just had a hummus at a restaurant in Mission Bay that combined chickpeas with well roasted sweet potato as the hummus and served with pita bread, olives and goat cheese...delicious and the recipe worked at home.
Hi Alberto! More great recipes. For anyone having difficulty getting tahini, I find that you can get away without for chickpea based recipes. Other beans, not so much, you really need at least toasted nuts or seeds. But it's super easy to make your own if you have a grinder: I often make it with pipas and sunflower oil, as those are things I can get easily. Maybe something you could cover in another video?
I worked 22 years in Saudi Arabia and missed eating these hummus and loved the way you make from scratch. Very easy to follow your instructions..thanks! Can I used toasted sesame and put directly on the chickpeas and not made tahini?? Less effort! 🥰
I missed viewing this recipe when it screened. Saw the video a few months ago . I have used all these recipes ( frequently ) & recommend it to others. I’ve meant to comment earlier - today is a good time because I will be serving Albert’s Spanish flatbread with olive hummus , lamb cutlets , a lemon dressed tomato / white cheese Italian salad & a big green salad. Simple , easy , & popular with family and friends . Thank you Albert.
A super wonderful channel that shld be shared widely. To achieve that, pls consider to, perhaps (1) on top left of the screen, eg, display permanently, concisely, the timing of the four different hummus, eg. HUMMUS 01:15 Chic Peas 05:26 Pino beans etc. (2) your English is very clear. English translation is redundant and cld be substituted by, in BIGGER font size, names of ingredients - in English and perhaps with Chinese or any other language, for example, when you pour in the olive oil, the text “Olive oil 橄榄油” appears, and when you add in cold water, then “Cold water 冷水” appears. The second language can be Italian, Arabic or any language of your choice/preference.
Just made the white bean with roasted red peppers. So good, but a little too runny with very little water added. Next time no water. I like mine a little thicker. I added 2 Serrano peppers & man is it good! 😋
These all look great, but I think the olive one sounds the best! I love olives and I love kidney beans. The roasted pepper one is a close second, though!
Thank u so much for sharing u can use other beans fr making hummus cause I didn't kn wat to do with these pinto white and lima beans I've knocking about in d kitchen d only beans my family really like is lentils appreciate it very much
