Join me as I head out to a challenging spring creek with crystal clear water to hunt down BIG RAINBOW TROUT with Dry flies and Dry/Dropper. These trout are not easily fooled so you have to use super tiny flies with 6X and 7X tippet and light tackle. The weather gets gnarly, making it even more challenging, but in the end big fish are had!

awesome video mate! Beautiful crystal clear water and challenging fishing. It feels great to get a fish landed, even to to take, in such conditions, You would love the fly fishing in tasmania. Some amazing fly fishing ,sight casting to mainly browns but also there are some waters that hold rainbows. Brumbies creek is one of my favourites. Clear water with browns averaging 2n ahalf to 3 pounds. Thers bigger fish there too. Check out some vids

That was an absolute great video and I enjoyed watching you stalk those big trout ... but I do have a question. I know you were using a 7X tippet so what reel were you using that had the superb drag allowing you to fight that last trout without breaking the tippet? Again great video!

Fishead61. Love that name by the way! Man, that is a killer little Sage click and pawl reel with really no drag. I've had it for like 20 years. One of my favorites! They still make them so check them out on the Sage website. Thanks for the support!

Cool! Before you make your cast, make sure you have all the needed slack out of your reel in order to drift your fly far enough down past the fish. Nothing worse than watching your fly drag just as it reaches the strike zone! Then just pop your rod tip and feed the line. Works well!
