I love that you are introducing both of your children to comics! DC Comics will be 100 years old in 12 years and the industry needs to be getting new readers to start the hobby if it wants to keep going.

All man, I would say Crisis. I had forgotten about that series, it’s been a long time . I remember talking to my buddy Adam on the bus going home and to school about super girl’s death. I had a crush on Supergirl when I was a kid. Watched the movie and was Star gazed !lol Never collected those, for some reason. Probably forgot about them, life happens. Thanks for sharing

I found my Silver Surfer #1 in the only one little vintage box in the store under a table on the floor. I opened the box and it was the first book I grabbed. Love the channel!

I think you will love Crisis. Great read. Amazing art. It was my major introduction to the worlds of DC. I was a Marvel zombie prior to reading the series. Byrne followed it up with a reboot of Superman. (Man of Steel miniseries and vol 2 of Superman) Also good reads as they lovingly draw you into the mythos of DC. Enjoy the read. I may have to get my copies out and give them a reread.

Crisis is such a great series. I just picked up 7&8 myself, from a great seller on IG. Then I came across the whole series for $40 on FB. I pick that and Secret Wars up every time I see them. And as for reading more DC? That’s an awesome resolution, you won’t regret it!

I remember that Silver Surfer’s promo poster in my lcs. My young eyes popped out of my head. That image alone makes the book a classic.

Id run back to the store, return those DC comics 😂 and grab that pre-code Horror book. Those are becoming more rare as time goes on.....and the cool thing is is that they don't have to be keys....just pre-code Horror.

I’m a Marvel guy so never really paid much attention to DC other than The Dark Knight series which blew me away when I read them as a kid. Absotlely loved tha pre-code horror cover. I respect that it’s not really your thing, I just love the history of those books. The way Wonderland was set up was very organized and pleasing to the eye. Awesome pick ups overall, can’t wait for more videos!

I'm a big Silver Surfer fan too and the Lee/Byrne one-shot is an excellent comic. Lee had exclusive rights to write Surfer stories for quite a few years after the original series was cancelled; he did a great two-parter called Silver Surfer: Parable with amazing art by Moebius and a graphic novel called Judgement Day (I haven't read this one, very hard to find), both in 1988. Your daughter is very advanced in her character recognition, well done Dad. Those crime comics put out by Lev Gleason are a niche area of comic collecting but they have their fans; there's definitely no doubt what happened on the cover of that issue of Crime Does Not Pay. Crisis On Infinite Earths: often imitated (mainly by DC) but never equalled, let alone bettered. The recently concluded Dark Crisis On Infinite Earths is a case in point - good but nowhere near the impact. In all, a very successful night of buying Mike, and an early X-Men you couldn't pass up, given cost and condition.

I feel like that Silver Surfer and Super Villain Classics: Galactus are awesome 80s retellings of these 2 Legends and should only gain in value once they hit the MCU.

one thing I would say to collectors that are starting out is to start in the dollar bins to explore what you like .

Some nice pickups, particularly the X-men 18. That’s a nice price for that grade. The antique store had good prices, and with the additional 20% discount, I may not have even made it over to the comic shop.

Keep seeing that Detective Comics 583 1st appearance of Scarface and Ventriloquist at that antique shop you keep going to. I just picked up a copy myself. Might be something to interest you in the future.

I love anything that is Silver Surfer related, so I think it was a good pick up in my opinion. Love that issue of the New Mutants, and remember reading it as a teenager. Started my daughter on comics and she loves Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy...

Nice video. I really wish I lived on the East Coast, you guys have all the cool comic shops. I actually remember buying that Hulk 198 off the rack when it came out. It was actually part 2 of a story that began in the previous issue. I was kind of pissed at the time because Herb Trimpe had been taken off the book and replaced with Sal Buscema. Took me a while to come around to Sal's version of Jade Jaws, but I eventually really came to appreciate his talents.

DC fan, so my favourite books are the crisis one, but I think the Xmen 18 is the best pickup because of the book and age.

Great video and haul, just recently came across your channel and subscribed. Wish we had flea markets and antique stores that sold so many comics here in the UK. The Silver Surfer issue was probably my fave, I just recently got a few silver age Daredevil at a decent price.

CoIE 7 & 8 for under 30 dollars.....lucky!! I only have been able to find 7 and of course it was over priced but it was a nice copy so I still got it.

Crisis is a Great comic but I'm biased towards DC. I'm also biased towards the Underworld movies. The first two were probably the best Vampire/ werewolf I've personally ever seen. Plus Anytime U get Kate Beckensale in leather fighting Vampires and werewolves, I'm All In😂👍

Now that you have been to both Wonderland Comics and That's Entertainment, you should do some sort of Comic Shop Battle between the two lol!!

All of them are great finds .... but I will always be partial to X-Men.

Xmen 18 is the top book you picked up on my opinion. I'm a man thing maniac and that manthing hulk mash up is a super sick book to own for sure. I'm on the hunt for it starting tomorrow at my local shop here in Central Florida. Great video as always 👍

Love the Silver Surfer book , but my vote has to go with the early X-men. They are also my favorite series to collect. Great video and I hope to visit those stores the next time I come North to visit my family

I have the death of Barry Allen but I need the death of Supergirl. I love the Silver age and Bronze age DC covers. There are some great Neal Adams DC covers on my want list. I also picked up Green Lantern 81 yesterday the death of Hal Jordan.

Some nice pick ups Mike. I am a die hard Bronze Age DC guy though I so like Marvel. That said, I loved the whole multiple Earths concept and wasn't a huge fan of The Crisis series. Still, those are sharp looking books. Hulk #198 is nice. I am a bigger fan of #197 with Bernie Wrightson cover art. I like Man-Thing but lean towards Swamp Thing more. I think why is Swamp Thing can talk and think more so than Man-Thing. Both swamp creatures had some great artists like Ploog, Wrightson and Redondo.

I am not thankful they did not do movie of Kate vs Blade. That would have been awesome. Black leather vs black leather. What’s not to love? Great video. Loved the Christmas decorations and the guy wishing you Merry Christmas. You give great descriptions when you are home. But I sort of wish you would comment on why you pick up books. The price and why you grabbed or why you put down. I can understand why you would want to be quiet inside but we could hear you speak softly while inside store. But again a nice video. Keep it up. And yes a disturbing cover I stay away from those. Mostly. Too scarey. Xmen book was a nice pickup.
