I think this parody is made MORE funny in retrospect after a discussion later in the series confirms that the actual Scooby Gang also exists in this universe.
@@amarox.onlyyy They don't directly say they exist, Rusty and several other former kid adventurers mentioned Velma and Daphne as real characters, so the rest of Mystery Inc probably exist as well.
@@written-in-ink Isn't Venture Bros. just part of the wider Hanna-Barbera universe? Give or take the more cartoony shows and later Adult Swim parodies, I'd like to think it's in the same camp as Scooby-Doo and Mystery Inc., Johnny Quest, Sealab, Moby Dick, Blue Falcon, etc.
@@daseal1479 At first it wasn’t directly related, I think. They fid offbrand parodies to dodge copyright, like action johnny instead of johnny quest. Then they realized that their company owned the actual johnny quest and action johnny slowly morphed into the real johnny quest.

Well Rusty Venture is a double parody of Jonny Quest and Dr. Benton Quest but both exist here, with Jonny needing rehab and hating his father. Even Brock is a homage to Race Bannon but personally knew the man himself. It's pretty much a spoof universe with the original characters spliced in. Mystery Inc likely do exist but have no direct connection to the Groovy Gang other than coincidentally sharing archetypical traits. But the interaction would be gold. "Like zoinks Scoob! It's those weirdos who sorta look like us!" "Oh ruck I rate rose rackheads!"
Imagine someone making an entire show like this in the exact same animation style were the Scooby gang where they go around and solve actual murders Fred is a manipulative lunatic who constantly Gas lights his friends shaggy is always high and there’s this big myster of wether our not scooby actually talks

@@batalorian7997 Yes The Master can shapeshift into anything, but he is not a shifty character, he is not a villain. He is a legitimately cool dude that gives sage advice without the slightest hint of hybris, (which is pretty hard with such a name) and the one time he did get out of the closest he defeated a zombie army. So my point is that I have a hard time believing that Sonny would really be the hand chosen by The Master, he would never approve such a nutjob
