@@hatchetjackphillips yes we do especially on 20,40,80 meters also on the repeaters especially ones that have backup power. Another reason I like being able to use various frequencies. When the sun is down and 15-10 meters are calming down. We go over and use 40,60,80,&160 meters. Those are night bands. 40 meters is day or night. But yes you can hear folks from all over. Everyone loves talking about the weather.
Same around where I live when severe weather hits. GMRS & CB gets busy. I’m sure the local ham bands do too. I have the local skywarn frequencies programmed in my scanner, and never think to turn it on when severe weather hits.
