The company I work for just donated some yard signs for 828 Strong to Biltmore Church in Arden, NC. :) Glad to be a part of helping such a fantastic ministry.
The strength and resilience of Appalachian people is legendary, so without a doubt and with time they'll overcome this disaster. It's all those flat landers who've moved into those mountains over the last few decades I'm not sure about.
It's one jaw dropping "OMG look at that!" after another. I've probably watched a few hours of this between different videos and it's still shocking. So sad.
Thank you. I thought it was important to give a perspective many have not seen. It is not easy to watch & I do not think it is what everyone should do. Training, expertise and objective are all important.
Hey Squirrel, watching from far western suburban Chicago. Came across this video randomly. Just wanted to say thank you for everything you're doing for your neighbors out that way. It takes a huge set of stones to drive these treacherous roads with all the wash outs, downed trees, limbs, and wires. May God ride with you and keep you safe. T's &P's to all in the area
@@TheRange7 Thank you. I wanted to tell the story so that others can get some perspective of what is really happening here. I set out to avoid showing marked sites of the deceased or putting cameras in the faces of people who probably never wanted to be the center of this kind of attention. They want to live their lives wherever that is and not have to be forced to rebuild and move on.
@@SecretSquirrelOffroad Thanks for the reply. Your mission goals were very well accomplished. I 100% respect your approach to your mission as well. Stay well
Thank you for posting. More and more videos keep popping up and that's what people need to see so more help comes into the area! Also, you're awesome to go out and drop off supplies time and time again.
@@producerk8247 Thanks for watching. WNC and all of the affected areas desperately need help and will need it for some time. Not just until the news decides to prop something else up.
Thank you for a straight forward and factual video. The conditions and devastation are eye opening. Seeing how bad the roads are, and how many people are out there working, I can understand why they need to control/limit access. I've seen a lot of touristy videos and heard a lot of commentary. Hopefully people that want to get involved will follow your example.
@@turbot_ Thank you for that. Context is definitely important. I wanted to get the severity across both to encourage assistance and show what front line help might encounter. It isn’t the place for a traffic jam or the unprepared.
I have doom scrolled a lot of content from Helene but this was so some of the worst devastation I have seen. Those piles of of flood debris are taller then the snow piles we had in NY growing up. Thanks for what your doing and documenting it.
Thank you so much for putting this video out so other people can see and understand the true devastation. Me as a midwestern never saw what a hurricane can do. I'm so sadden by this, my heart breaks for these people. God bless America. We all need to come together and help in some form. Thank you for sharing.
God bless for what you're doing to help. I'm all the way out west. Only thing I can do to help is send money to pilots flying stuff in, to help them buy Aviation fuel or supplies. That and prayers. Press on brother. God bless.
Volunteering as I can at Trinity of Fairview a lot & made several runs to Fairview FD for them. I knew it has horrible out Garren Creek but it’s hard to see. Both Garren Creek & Fairview FD have been requesting the small ATV trailers to pull supplies to people . Northern Tool has them for $500 but no one has stepped up
I have a '21 Ford Ranger with a 2.5 inch leveling/lift and 32" tires. In the last few years of off roading, I've done enough level 3 and 4 trails and I know my truck's limits. One day we may find ourselves in an emergency situation such as is the case in your area and my vehicle and experience will pay off as yours has for you. We have snow to contend with here in the Western PA area, too, so I'm running 3 peak Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires. I know that many years ago in one of the worst snow storms to hit the Pittsburgh area, folks with 4WD volunteered to drive doctors to and from the local hospitals and were given permission to drive on closed to the public roadways. God Bless those who are helping in NC and who are shining the light.
Thanks for watching. I understand how important mobility can be. I am a physician and went on these runs for well checks and medical needs with specific locations planned ahead. Not a lone wolf as implied by an earlier comment. It doesn’t hurt to have a capable vehicle.
@@SecretSquirrelOffroad Are you a member of Biltmore Church? I just checked out their webpage before making a donation. They have a solid "Our Beliefs" section. I've been looking for somewhere to donate and I'm glad I found a worthy organization for which to do so in your video.
@@davekpghpa I proudly am. Such a great church. Online sermons on Sundays. They are a large church in the Asheville area with several satellite campuses. Their hearts are in the right place. Thank you for donating!
@@SecretSquirrelOffroad I just watched "Biltmore Church Online | The Book of James | Week 2 | 9 AM" from 3 weeks ago. Great sermon. BTW, in his gratitude list, the Pastor mentioned his "doctor friends"! I'm in a little solid Church in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. I was Baptized Aug 11 of this year and just joined the membership of my Church. God is Good All The Time!
I think it was 10 or 12 pallets. Very hot and loud. Blades spinning and the jets idling the entire time. You learn where not to stand quickly. Thank you 82nd Airborne Division!
@@apocalypse2941 Good question. We were using GMRS 15 at a max of 15W so not long range. Didn’t hear much radio traffic. I was scanning GMRS and some HAM frequencies. First responders were encrypted.
I have a 4x4 Tacoma, a 4wheeler and chainsaws. I would love to help out with supply runs if I can. Let me know what I can help with. I’m in sout charlotte and going up next week sometime with samaritans purse. But can help now if you need trucks!
Biltmore Church has schedules posted on their Instagram & FaceBook social media pages for supply pickups. They have bulk pickup from 10-1 Tomorrow 10/11 for example. They have had chainsaw crews leaving most mornings although the time varies. They have put out a call for box trucks and trailers to deliver supplies. If you have identified a need you can get supplies to deliver at Biltmore Church. They may know of a group you can go with that may be going to a more remote area. They answer phones starting at 8 most days. Volunteers have been arriving at 9. Unfortunately I do not have a point of contact for someone running crews on a regular basis. They have gone from 0-60 in nothing flat so some communication or organization may lack a little polish, but man are they getting it done! Thank you for being willing to help out!
@@joelunchbox3435 it can get overwhelming quickly. Thank you for watching. I thought it was important to show what it is like past the street lights and sidewalks.
it's really cool to hear about the military and civilians working alongside each other logistically. Why didn't this happen from day 1? Why wasn't the military out there helping people on day 1 and 2? I don't get it
@@moonasha The unloading was straightforward. We did not have any instructions and with engines on and rotors spinning there wasn’t any choice, but the 82nd Airborne personnel were very professional and clear. It was like we all just knew what to do. Response took a little build-up, but happy to have it. It can always be better. Thanks for watching!
@@SecretSquirrelOffroad- It took so long because the Governor didn’t call the National Guard out right away, unlike in Florida. One day after Hurricane Milton hit DeSantis had the national guard called out.
@@josephmorgan3715 Fletcher is a mixed bag. Power & water is back. Asheville will have water issues for a while longer due to extensive treatment infrastructure damage. Lots of structure damage in neighborhoods and trees in Fletcher. Day 1 in my video is Fletcher although more rural & mountainous than where I live in the ‘burbs.
@@SecretSquirrelOffroad news has just stuck with the big communities but white top. North east also is absolutely wild 😢😢😢. Mountain people are resilient they will rebuild.

I’d love to see more actual helping people in all these videos people are posting and less driving around showing the devastation. Show us how your actually helping. Enough exploiting these poor peoples situations so y’all can make money making videos.. Be a part of the solution not the problem…. PLZ
The US FeMa folks are in the area trying to help all the hill families! President Biden and Gov. are trying to get all folks the help they need. In case you don’t know Fla got hit bad today by another Hurricane. But that will not stop you all from getting the help and supplies you need. God bless you!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@Susan.I Hearts go out to FL as well. FEMA has gotten a lot of hate lately and they’ve never been perfect. No one has, but they have been helping a friend get a literal riverbed out of his basement so I know they are here. I am thankful for what I have seen & it is counterproductive to speculate otherwise especially if you aren’t part of the solution.
I am working directly with one of the largest relief organizations in the area and being sent directly to a specific objective. I’m not winging it. If you go in, have direction and a plan.
Yes! I heard trump was even first in line to donate blood and that he also donated millions to rebuild every state especially the poorest communities. Oh no. Wait. I’m wrong. He’s at the Detroit Economic Club today raising money for himself while putting our city down. He’ll be back in the devastated south when it’s cleaned up enough. Oh! And I also heard about how much the Trump construction org has been all over in every state ready to help with the rebuilding…especially to help with rebuilding houses for those that lost everything in the mountains and in the lowlands. That’s all we see is Trump construction trucks everywhere and Don jr. and Eric volunteering their time with FEMA to get medical, food, personal, baby needs to the drop off sites.,like they do every year during hurricane season!!
WIth your video I have no sympathy for some of these people. They aint mentally right to begin with. Those roads were shit before the storm! The gov needs to step in and seize these places.
i love Americans, a country of highest contributor to climate change, with no regard to downsizing. and when a shit happens with direct consequences to nature from their daily lives, sit back to their big as trucks and provide support. you don't get it do you? that next year it is going to be much stronger and devastation bigger. God bless America.
In 1991 Sadam Hussain's forces retreated from Kuwait, destroying and setting fire to hundreds of oil wells. These wells were under several hundred psi and produced thousands of barrels a day each. They burned unchecked for many months. When the Nordstream 2 pipeline was destroyed in the Baltic sea, it released millions of pounds of natural gas, composed primarily of methane, a greenhouse gas 100 times more potent than CO2. I don't think American pickup trucks are the problem you think they are.
CHINA is the biggest polluter, and as regards to this being as a result of 'global warming', that is BS, its as a result of having a SATANIC GOVERNMENT using geo engineering tools to manipulate the weather. Check out: 'unconventional grey' by A guy who was murdered for making this documentary.
