Those of us who have the resources to do can donate funds to a reputable disaster relief organization. Builders can help Florida rebuild. Our strong young people can donate their strength and energy to cleanup efforts. A house divided cannot stand, but a people united can rebuild!

If you live in affected parts of Florida, apply to the closest FEMA location. You will get a debit card with significant money on it. Get it and spend it. That initial money to disaster areas is to keep the local economy going, so use it on locally owned companies if you can.

That is not true. This money is not a loan, it is a grant. Please stop spreading lies. If you get a low interest loan for recovery, you will sign legal 3:04 loan papers, just like any other loan. At the loan signing you will be clearly informed of any repayment terms. I learned this when my community was devastated by Tornadoes, and within days FEMA had a vacant store set up for taking applications. There were dozens of people working to help people apply for aid. Everyone who lived in the disaster area got this money, and no one was asked to pay it back.
With the storm approaching from the southwest all of the bays and inlets along the west coast vulnerable to storm surge not to mention the barrier island communities. Some areas very heavily populated with hundreds of thousands of homes at near sea level. One of the most dangerous areas in which to live with frequent hurricanes.

I live in Michigan, and found out the assisted living group where my 103 year old grandmother lives, has NO PLANS to evacuate. She's smack in the middle of Tampa. Nothing I can do from here.
You should contact news local to your area about this. Many managers and supervisors will stay in the path of a tornado to keep the lights on incase the "community needs us".

They have shelters dude, just go to a shelter, they're all over the place, if you watched the press conference with the governor you'd know there's all sorts of shelters that are category 5 rated and have plenty of room. You don't even have to travel that far.

Too bad people did not learn from Andrew. My parents left way before Andrew in 1967. My mother lived through Donna in 1960. 2ft of water in her house in Sarasota was enough for her. She was in 9th grade. When she met my Dad in 1966 they made plans to leave FL for better job opportunities and because of hurricanes. They left and did not look back. Relatives continued to ask when we would visit when we were going to move back. The answer was NEVER.
From time to time I watch Hurricane Andrew As It Happened and it’s actually insane what that storm did. I don’t think people realise the aftermath was more or less as bad as Katrina in terms of the sheer amount of people left to fend for themselves afterwards.

Guess where ALL the money that the US government is spending to replace the donated weapons and munitions the US sent to Ukraine is going? ... To US weapons manufacturers... That employ 100% Americans, giving countless thousands of jobs to Americans. 100% of that "spent" money is being recycled INTO the US economy.. it is not "lost" because no currency has been given to Ukraine. America is giving them ammunition and weapons that have been sitting in armories for decades, many of which have limited shelf-lives and would end up being expended in training exercises regardless and needed to be replaced anyway. Israel, on the other hand, is another matter. The US does in fact give billions of dollars to them (also munitions). So your argument there is mostly accurate. But not to Ukraine, they don't get money for weapons / ammunition... they get those directly, which have an attached dollar value which is what people are referring to when they talk about "money for Ukraine".. they are speaking directly about the VALUE of the weapons donated. Weapons that will be replaced in the US by spending tax dollars on American businesses, giving Americans jobs.
