Hurricane Warning!! Is it a Zeus killer? 

A very detailed comparison will be coming out by about Jan. 16th of the Zeus, Hurricane, and Eovan GTS. I am working up and collecting the details right now. My GTS is to arrive next week...hopefully. We are to have a couple 50 degree days next week...there WILL be riding on those days. Watch for that vid. I think you fine it beneficial. That sucks that they don't ship to you. Any other way you could get around that? You might want to wait until about Jan. 16th. Hey man, great to hear from you, and I agree with much of what are said. First, yes, there will be a very detailed comparison of the Zeus, Hurricane, and Eovan GTS very soon. My GTS is arriving supposedly next week. I believe these three boards are in a similar class and three of the best top contender boards out there. They look dope as hell, they a have great components, and they appear to give skaters a lot of ride time. That is what I like. I am working up my detail sheet on all three (GTS when it arrives), and a vid will appear toward the end of next week. Second, with all these boards, we have taken measures to have different belts, hubs, and wheels so that we can do a comparison of morphing the boards with wheel setups. Third, and this not my forte, but I would like to be able to do some bushing comparisons. I firmly believe bushings are overlooked on all boards. I am reaching out to RipeTide to see if they can help me with some different bushings to test on DKP and RKP trucks. I want to see how the different combos affect the boards ride. That will be a vid in itself. I LOVE my Zeus man...it is the board to beat in my opinion. The Hurricane is a contender...will be interesting to see how the GTS fits into the family. @@esk8ooligan I'll definitely be looking forward to that video. A couple of other boards (B-ONE TITAN Carbon, & Raldey Wasp) have been suggested/recommended to me...however, I've never heard of either brand, and haven't been able to find any info on either in the forums, this I'm (currently) somewhat less-inclined to consider them as possibilities. Maybe you and/or others reading this are familiar with either/both of these brands, and can provide a little "insight"...but, unless I can get more info on these two, I'll stick with my original three considerations. As for the bushings thing, I'm in complete agreement. Part of the 'problem' is that (at least, from what I've noticed) the manufacturers don't seem to provide durometer information. It's true that bushings of different durometers effect how the board handles...but, different durometers are also needed for people of different weight groups (my 'problem'). Using my G2 Black as an example, the stock bushings (barrel/barrel rear, barrel/cone front) are way too soft for my weight (230lbs)...I'm guessing they're probably in the 88-91A range. I ordered (Venom) 2 pair of 95A, and one pair of 93A, all barrel. While waiting, I also picked up a complete barrel/cone set of 94A from a local shop. First, I tried the following setup: front - 94A barrel/stock cone, rear - 94A barrel/stock barrel. It was better than all-stock, with the rear slightly better than the front. Next, I replaced the front stock cone with a stock barrel, and the front improved a little more...but, everything was still too soft (for my weight). Yesterday, the 95A & 93A bushings arrived, along with the Array machined cup & flat washers. While I haven't had time yet to test, I installed the 95A front & rear, top & bottom. If it works, great...and, if not, I now have a collection of 95A, 94A, & 93A barrels to "play around" with. Between this selection of bushings, as well as having cup & flat washers, I'm certain I'll get the setup to be what I *need* it to be...and, as I lose weight, I can easily switch to lower durometers bushings.

Andres, if this occurs to my board, I will absolutely drop in and update everyone. It is pretty cold here in the States, and I am hoping that on Tuesday we have another 40 degree day that I can put in a couple hours on the board. Cold ya, but I love to board. I love DKP, RKP, and TKP trucks, but I do really like the DKP trucks. They need to be finely tuned though. I love the the "W"ave in the board as it does really fit my arch well and gives me a better feeling of being connected to the deck. My Eovan GTS is arriving next week...or supposed to...I plan to go into a very detailed review of the Zeus, GTS, and Hurricane as soon as the GTS arrives. My oldest board right now is the Backfire G3. I have tried to focus our budget on newer more souped-up boards. I have a serious need for speed and agility...hence the boards I have and will probably have. Hey, glad to hear from you again. Stay tuned. More to come soon. Colder than a rats arse here.

Will be doing that once I can run it through out normal testing process. I like of the temp to be at least 50-60 degrees to do that testing. Not expecting those temps here for at least a couple three months. I will be doing a more detailed review with test results. I appreciate the view and comment.

You might have a little hangover…of your feet that is, but I think with the extra rise in the wings, you will have some nice control. At a 9.5 shoe size, this deck fit me very well. I love my Zeus, but I do believe this board might give it a little run for the money. Thanks for watching and the comment.

@@esk8ooligan yeah I have the Zeus already. I think the two things Zeus has over it is the stability at high speeds and the range. I really wanna try the meepo deck tho.

@@Catamount19 Agree 100%. I love the range of the Zeus. I like to ride a lot and 15-18 miles per ride just does not do it for me. The Zeus is very stable. I have not fully dialed in the DKP trucks on the Hurricane, but once it is a little warmer, that will be job one. I want to see what the stability is like at about 25-30 mph. What wheels are you running on the Zeus? Just curious.

@@esk8ooligan I have tried several but the Zeus is at it's best with 120 cloud. You get comfort, range, and high top speed.

I hope, but I have to say so far I have not been impressed. I contacted them twice through their Contact Us page of their website, and I have not heard anything from them. That was about two weeks ago. I hope you are right, and that they are overwhelmed with sales.

I agree...but I love snow and have lift tickets for snowboarding. Can't wait to get on the slopes. I will be comparing the brakes if the Zeus, Hurricane, and Eovan GTS some more shortly. I have some warmer days coming up. Personally, I think they are great on the Zeus. I had a couple times where cagers stopped in front of me. I was able to stop without running off the board. I DO wish they were adjustable like the Hurricane. Watch for more vids soon. Sooooo...many things to cover.

Hey Dude. Thanks for the question. My personal feeling is no. Here is why. I love DKP trucks, but as you already know, they are notoriously less stable. The deck of the Hurricane is GREAT…love the design and aggressive shoulders. The grip tape is like glue. For me, that is where it ends. Is the Hurricane a good board…absolutely, but the Zeus Pro is almost perfect. If you have either the Zeus (OG or Pro), the Hurricane, or the GTS Carbon Pro, you have a great board. If I could only get one board, I would still opt for the the Zeus series. That is my opinion. Others may and will tell you differently based upon their boarding style. If you are making a decision, best of luck. I would base my decision on four things…ESC/VSC, battery, trucks, and deck. Thanks again Dude!! Let me know what you decide.

3k is almost double the price of this..? I also got my hurricane for $1380 total.

Great catch. Actually, my chest, back, and elbow gear is under my shacket. I had my leather protective gloves on, but GUILTY as charged on not wearing my helmet. It was cold (40 degrees), and the face shield fogs and if open my head gets cold. Still no excuse. Good call out man!! Glad you watched, took note, and commented.

We'll see in a real world comparison. I am working up the vid right now. I have some 50 degree days next week. Riding will be done. I'm a Zeus lover, but have only been on the Hurricane about 30 minutes. Has been about 1-10 degrees here...not exactly great riding weather. On the Zeus, I have been getting 35-40 miles per charge at 190 pounds. Acceleration has been exceptional...but again that is controlled by the Hobbywing (Hurricane has the LY-FOC)...I did notice a slight difference between the two. I do like the deck of the Hurricane more...and I do like the adjustable braking on the Hurricane. Watch for the comparison vid on about Jan. 16th of the Zeus, Hurricane, and Eovan GTS. Range, top speed, stability, and looks. Haha sorry man. It’s not that clear cut.

But is range and not speed is what your looking for? Im going to be 52 this year. I dont care about speed as much as range....
