@ Lenny Huckaby There was a time when it was women who were told to do better. And of course , things worked. Now that husbands are told that , nothing works anymore. Because it was the woman who was made for the man. Not the man for the woman.

Some people do hate themselves and/or their bodies
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre Год назад
Hello @oleandra3759, That's true. For these people it is even more important that they focus on who they are in Christ. They must find their value by looking at the promises in God's Word and the statements for Christians. Now, if the people you're talking about are not Christians, then they must repent and believe. Perhaps being born again will alleviate them of the hate you are describing.

Wives should NEVER be adressed after husbands . The right biblical way is always to adress wives first because the woman was made for the man , not the man for the woman. The Bible ALWAYS starts off with wives submit to your husbands in everything. Have you ever noticed that ? Wives should be adressed first and the focus should be put on wives because God made the woman for the man , to meet HIS needs , to fulfill his desires FIRST. Husbands should be reminded their basic duties as providers as we see in Exodus and that's it. I'm more and more convinced that if the church had never ceased doing that , we would not be where we are now.
@ScottLaPierre

Isabelle, I agree with you that woman was created for man and not the other way around as it clearly says in first Corinthians 11. Please see this post in which I wrote about this very topic: www.scottlapierre.org/gods-establishment-of-male-headship/.

The husband has the responsibility to "sanctify "his wife but he can let her be unsubmissive , disrespectful and mistreat him ? What ?? If he is to "sanctify" her , he can definitely not let her be that way because it is ungodly and wicked ! He cannot put up with bad behaviour if he is to sanctify her ! Anyway , if he is told to rule his home and control the things that happen there , how will he do so if she is not in subjection to him ? If he lets her be unsubmissive and unruly , he will not rule and ocntrol anything. SHE will. Actually , there cannot be any sanctification without authority , without rebuking and punishment (in extreme cases).
@ScottLaPierre

Isabelle, Who said anything about a wife being able to be unsubmissive and disrespectful? My third message at marriage conferences is about wives submitting to their husbands and the fifth message is about wives respecting their husbands. Please listen to those messages and then let me know your thoughts. You are making wild accusations unrelated to my message without addressing anything in the message itself.

Unconditional love is not scriptural . God/ Christ does not love his people unconditionally . He does have some conditions. Otherwise he wouldn't be God. He wouldn't be above us. We would ! In the same way husbands should have conditions , otherwise their wives will sooner or later take the helm in the same of "love" . The wordly lie of unconditional love rooted in humanistic psychology has emasculated husbands and turned God into some cool God who does not care if I sin since he LOVES me "unconditionally". It is shameful , disgrafecul. It is a subtle modern way to mock both God/Christ and earthly husbands. Shame on us for doing so. No husband should put up with bad behaviour. As the ruler of his home , he has a right - if it's not a duty - to purge evil out of his house. And saying that husbands must love their wives sacrifically , what on earth does it mean ? Providing food , clothing and conjugal rights (Exodus 21:10) is not enough ??? When a man puts a roof on your head and clothes you , it is not enough ?? And his desires for you that keep you safe from temptations 1 Co 7:5 ? And where has the husband's right to sex gone , which is the primary reason why he gets married 1 Co 7:4 ? Why isn't it never adressed ? When talking to husbands , why is Proverbs 5:18 never quoted ?? WHY ? O my people , children are your oppressors and women rule over you ! Isaiah 3:12 That exactly ! Our current disastrous situation. Made very easy by the post modern church that keeps telling men to double down on love when wives are not commanded and obligated to submission anymore. I can't find anything more malicious , more devilish than that.
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre Год назад
@Isabelle M, Again, I wanted to respond to multiple parts of your comment… "Unconditional love is not scriptural . God/ Christ does not love his people unconditionally . He does have some conditions. Otherwise he wouldn't be God. He wouldn't be above us. We would !" What would lead you to believe God's love is conditional? Conditional on what? Our behavior or righteousness? If that was the case then God would not love us. The fact is, He loves us because He is love and wanted objects for His love. It is independent of us and our behavior, which is to say it is unconditional. Think of Romans 5:8 which says God loved us while we were yet sinners. The idea behind this verse is God loved us when we did not deserve it. Why? Because His love is unconditional. Also, just to be clear, just because God sends people to hell, it does not mean that He does not love them. "In the same way husbands should have conditions , otherwise their wives will sooner or later take the helm in the same of "love" . Shame on us for doing so." Stating that God's love is unconditional does not mean that He doesn't care if we sin. Hebrews 12 teaches that God disciplines those He loves. He disciplines us when we sin, because He does love us. "No husband should put up with bad behaviour. As the ruler of his home , he has a right - if it's not a duty - to purge evil out of his house." Yes, I agree that husbands are responsible for the holiness of their homes and must remove sin from them. But this is not incompatible with husbands loving their wives or families. In fact, I would argue that husbands purge evil from their home BECAUSE they love their wife and family. "And saying that husbands must love their wives sacrifically , what on earth does it mean ? Providing food , clothing and conjugal rights (Exodus 21:10) is not enough ??? When a man puts a roof on your head and clothes you , it is not enough ?? And his desires for you that keep you safe from temptations 1 Co 7:5 ?" I am wondering if you listened to the message I taught. Toward the beginning I discussed what it means for a husband to love his wife. Please listen to the message if you haven't already. "And where has the husband's right to sex gone , which is the primary reason why he gets married 1 Co 7:4 ? Why isn't it never adressed ? When talking to husbands , why is Proverbs 5:18 never quoted ?? WHY ?" This was a message about husbands loving their wives. I can't cover every topic in one message. Please see this post I wrote which discusses both of the verses you mentioned: www.scottlapierre.org/biblical-view-of-sex-in-christian-marriage/. Feel free to comment on the post with your thoughts. "O my people , children are your oppressors and women rule over you ! Isaiah 3:12" Please see this post I wrote about male leadership, and which I referenced that verse: www.scottlapierre.org/male-leadership-in-the-bible/ "That exactly ! Our current disastrous situation. Made very easy by the post modern church that keeps telling men to double down on love when wives are not commanded and obligated to submission anymore. I can't find anything more malicious , more devilish than that." My message after this one is about wives submitting to their husbands. Again, you can't expect me to cover every topic in one message. Please listen to that message on submission and let me know if you can't find it.

"Whom I love I rebuke and chastise" Revelation chapter 3 Christ said that he rebukes and punishes the church he loves. So , how come husbands today are not called to do the same if they are called to "love like Christ" ? Would the church respect Christ if Christ never rebuked her ? In the same way , can wives respect their husbands if they never rebuke them ? How did God handle the rebellion of Israel his wife ? With the lie of unconditional love and nothing else ? No way ! He was that husband who did not put up with bad behaviour. It is said somewhere (Ezekiel if I'm not mistaken) that he punished her with violence. Do we realise that ? Was God that spineless doormat that Israel could never have respected at all ?
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre Год назад
Isabelle, I addressed this in an earlier comment. That verse from Revelation 3 is similar to Hebrews 12 where God says he disciplines those he loves. Yes, I completely agree with you that God disciplines the church. But you said he punishes the church? Discipline and punishment are different. Christ took the punishment we deserve. The church, or believers, will never be punished for our sins. But, yes, we will be disciplined for them.

Where has the sex gone ? How can a husband love his wife without sex ?? He might as well love another brother platonically !!! Do you realise how terribly emasculating those teachings can be ? 1 Corinthians 7:4 To avoid sexual immorality , let every man have his wife (...) Men get married to escape from sexual immorality by loving a woman sexually.

The Bible instructs both the husband and wife to submit to each other. As a husband, are you submissive to your wife??
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre Год назад
There are multiple verses in the New Testament commanding wives to submit to their husbands: Ephesians 5:22, 24, Colossians 3:18, Titus 2:3-5, and 1 Peter 3:1. Where are husbands commanded to submit to their wives?
@mosesbassey9431
@mosesbassey9431 Год назад
@@ScottLaPierre Ephesians 5:21
@ScottLaPierre
@ScottLaPierre Год назад
@@mosesbassey9431 There are a few problems with that interpretation. First, Ephesians 5:21 does not refer to the marriage relationship. Rather, it is talking about believers’ mutual responsibilities toward each other. Paul does not transition to the subject of marriage until verse 22, when he begins addressing wives directly. Second, at least two husbands-Adam and Ahab-were rebuked for submitting to their wives (Genesis 3:17; 1 Kings 21:25). Third, Paul cannot be teaching that husbands should submit to their wives because that would conflict with the instruction that immediately follows in verses 22 and 24 for wives to submit to their husbands, as well as similar instruction in Colossians 3:18, Titus 2:3-5, and 1 Peter 3:1. Instead, Ephesians 5:21 calls us to have a submissive spirit that is willing to give up rights and desires unity in the body of Christ. We see this described more clearly in Philippians 2:3-4: “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
@framboise595
@framboise595 Год назад
@ moses bassey There is nothing more emasculating for a man than being submissive to a woman. The Bible never says that at all.
