Walt, I just love your videos. I got a 372 Xtorq earlier this year for my tree cutting business after I finished tearing up a poor old Stihl I got for $80. I originally wanted a 365 because of the price point but unfortunately couldn't get one soon enough before I needed it for a job so settled on a 372. After I got it I started looking for info on the saw I had purchased and found your channel, and what an unexpected gold mine it is. I've watched a large portion of your videos and I like that I never know what kind of info I might gleam from every video, your long winded discussions are just wrought with knowledge and experience. Thankyou for compiling this and uploading it, whether is organized or not, it's great for a young guy like me to learn from. You are an inspiration sir!

You invest a lot of time to produce these. Don't dismiss the possibility of doing a series of short ten minute-ish videos on this subject - might be useful if you plan to categorise your video library
does the jonsered 820 and husky 281 share a piston/cylinder? sorry to be off topic but finding info on this 820 I just got is rough. wish spike had his own database of red info.
I love these saws! I have a mid 90’s Jonsered 670 Champ that I cut timber with for years and still use it for firewood cutting today! And it still runs good! These are super saws!
Coincidence to find this video, a day after you posted it. I bought a 365 case with a ?371? p/c, so many questions I have been looking for answers. I have a LOT to learn. I have a J2171 that was crushed (BAD) but crank, clutch, flywheel, carb bar and chain survived. You said the same thing more than once but that got a few things through my noggin. So now I need to go open my boxes of stuff to verify what is what and rewatch this video. Thank You for taking the time to share some of what you deem important knowledge. You have many videos for me to watch, it's a rainy day so I will see a few of them.
Good morning! Were there large mount versions of the 2063? Some believe that is true but I can't verify it. Obviously you can use a 372 case to rebuild a 2063 I'm guessing...?
I have allways enjoyed your videos Walt and have learned to do bottom ends thanks to you so thanks for that. I picked up a 2166 minus top end and was trying to figure out what to do with it. Think after this i will stick with the xt top end after this.might try a pop up piston and see how it goes
Well done as always. For a limited time there was a 362 large mount saw. I had one. I asked the dealer why and he said at the end of the 362 run they simply put the head and piston onto a 372 chassis. The 362 he said was a niche saw where ounces mattered. Does that sound about right to you? Anyway I damaged it but the case was good. Dropped a tree on my 371 broke the case. Took the working parts made a 36to71.
You mentioned replacing the ignition on older models with a more modern version to benefit performance. I have a 2171. Is there an ignition replacement you would recommend to get a smoother idle and easier start?
The new version for the x-torq does but its rev limited to 13300 where the OE were tuned to 13500. That's only an issue if you are a by the manual mechanic :)
