In this video we will lok at a Husqvarna 585 chainsaw that came in needing a muffler, handlebar, starter, clutch cover, air filter and more. See what we have approval to fix and how its done. #smallenginerepair
True about that side cover- I popped a fuel tank on an Echo 510 when the chain derailed and went through it. JB weld did fix it for the rest of its life, but I learned something that day. Chain catcher was in place, just a luck shot. I was pleased to see my Dolmar Makita has some extra shielding back there.
I've got two types of customers. Guys that take really good care of their equipment and GOOD customers $$$. The full wrap handle kits for the 585/592 are cheaper than the "half wrap" handles. The kit comes with the handle, felling spikes, chain catcher, a/v spring, and a clutch cover. Same goes for the 572 full wrap kit. MSRP is $49.95. Some guys don't like the full wrap handles, but it's a hell of a deal.
We recently discovered exactly what you are saying and now stock kits for 562 on up. We called Husky to ask if the pricing was correct and they said they are all in kit form and it would cost more to unpackage them. They really are a smokin hot deal.
Another great video. Your channel seems to repair a lot of husqvarnas. Is that because Husqvarna requires a lot of repairs? 🙂 Makes a guy wonder if you should talk to them about being sponsored.
The blue filters are a smaller micron designed to catch debris that was apparently causing issues in autotune saws. They have also started adding magnets to the fuel pickup lines.
Great video/content. I have a couple of 592XPs. The oldest one has had 3 mufflers in the first couple months from welds cracking. How do you replace the main fuel line on a 592?
People might assume that the customer is the one that doesn’t maintain the saw but most likely it’s an employee or crew(I hope). I would make your employees more accountable for their equipment. A $1200 deduction from their paycheck usually works.
i wonder what the cylinder looked like when the muffler was pulled. or how many hours the computer says it had. i'm thinking it was bounced out of a pick up truck.
None of the people I’ve seen just let.their saw roll around. Anything that made me money was taken care of and ready to use. Another good video, of how NOT to take care of a saw …..by the customer
Damn! I sure know my money means everything to me and every one of my 15 saws are cleaned after every use! Maybe dude has money to burn who knows! See ya next time!
Not sure if he has money to burn but he paid his bill. I learned a long time ago not to judge wealth by the way people act or are dressed. If I may ask, are the 15 saws part of your collection or are they work saws?
Sooner or later someone will try and put a 585 carb set on a 592. To have a 592 without the computer controlled carb. Just because thats what they want.
@@TheGreasyShopRag I just rebuilt a 572xp with the help from your videos. Low hour saw with perfect piston and cylinder. Runs great but there wasn’t a square inch of plastics that didn’t have deep gouges and scratches. Handle, brake handle and clutch cover all cracked. Gas tank leaked so it was a mess. Obviously not the type of damage you get even from heavy cutting. Best deal going is the 50.00 full wrap kit with dogs, spikes , chain guard and clutch cover. Thanks for what you do.
I do not comprehend how someone could beat up a saw that bad. It makes no sense. The air filter. Are yo kidding me? The 585 is not cheap. How can you not know how to maintain your saw?
