Today I install an HVLP lift pump from The Hungry Diesel. This lift pump changes the stock fuel pressure from about 3-5psi to about 13-15psi. A great mod before adding horsepower to ensure you have sufficient fuel throughout your power goals.
Stay tuned for more videos!

Great video!! I got the pump and spring. Question… where is the location that you test the pressure from?? Location you hooked the gauge too? Was it at the top of the fuel line, coming out of the filter, where the banjo bolt with the snubber is ??

Bound to give a little low end timing advance with that extra fuel pressure.

I'd like to beef up my a158 a bit before I throw more power at this thing. Either that or swap the Trans, wish it did a better job putting the power to the ground.

When I put mine on the metal spacer was not made properly. The holes were just a bit too close together to allow both bolts to thread. 15 min with a Dremel fixed it but for the price of the kit it should not have happened.

That's a shame, mine went in pretty smoothly

I just searched to see if anyone else had this problem before I started my install. My problem is the holes are too small on the pump itself for the studs and it’s not centered. So if I drill it I’m afraid I’ll take to much material off the pump housing and weaken it. I guess I’ll try a dremel too…

Will this pump upgrade work in any vehicle running a VE pump. I have a Perkins 4.0lt

Working on it. A 91 non intercooled. Where the extrusion is above the new pump mine isn't insulation filled. It is a very hard slightly thick plastic. No luck with the utility knife. Wondering about a Dremel tool. ? Any thoughts from the universe ? Anyone elce with a non intercooled experience this ?

did you have to turn the motor to TDC (top dead center)? per a tip sheet that the pump came with. I also did not get the HVLP pump I got the stock one.

No I didn't. You can get lucky so the cam lobe isn't in the way but if it is just bar the engine over until it's out of the way

@@OvensGarage- How do you bar the engine over?
@kellymichael7362
@kellymichael7362 11 дней назад
@@chickywilly I've heard that one can put a socket on the alternator pulley and wrench it over but it might just slip on the belt. Or put a socket on one of the bolts of the crank pully (harmonic balancer). There is a barring tool but it's trickier to use. You'll have to search that here on youtube and you'll see what I mean. You should be able to find a vid on barring the engine over, though. Good luck, brother.
