also those shims are like razor blades. HW rifles are good sturdy guns...with you kits installed Nick it transforms them into superb works of engineering, you kit brings out the best in just about any gun ive ever installed it in. (you can send the bribe to....just kidding...take care mate )
I am assuming you are in the UK? Do you handle full power kits for the US market? I just bought a HW50S new last month to go with my FWB 124 Sport that I bought new from Beeman's in the very early eighties. I heard remarks that the new FWB's and HW's were sent dry from the factory with no grease at all? My piston seal finally wore out on the FWB and I am pleased to say that they had done a thorough job at the factory in greasing it then. This was the first time I had taken it fully apart and the spring was thoroughly greased with a heavy lube that still felt and looked fresh, not so the seal as its edges had eroded and flaked off. Just found your channel and subscribed finding it very interesting.
I’m terrified of taking my rifle apart. It’s my only rifle and due to lockdown, the gun stores are closed. I don’t want to break anything or damage anything because I’m known for that 😂
Bought and fitted one of these kits and I must say that there was no noticeable difference,,,,,I fitted a v Mach kit and the difference was amazing.....worth spending that bit extra for the real thing.Also only an amateur strips a gun while wearing a watch with a steel strap.
No lubricant at all on a mainspring is a bad idea. Metal to metal moving surfaces need some lubrication. Lubricating the mainspring correctly will increase shot to shot consistency as well as making your gun cycle smoother.
That is true if the spring is rubbing along the piston, that's where the Weihrauch "twang" comes from. Fitting these guides eliminates metal to metal contact which means far less grease is needed in the gun.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skill. I have the standard Hw50 And it came with a cheaper standard non adjustable trigger unit which is not very smooth. Just wondered if you knew where I could aquire a record trigger unit. Thanks again.
Like the way you say at the end that you might need to shorten the spring if it goes over the legal limit, some people don't have the tools or would know how much to cut off.Kits are way,way over priced as well, could have also done with some close ups of what you are doing.
Every country has a different limit, some none at all, so it is possible the spring will need to be shortened. If someone doesn't have the tools or ability to check and change the power they should consider getting the necessary equipment first or getting help from someone who does. If they need advice we have a freephone helpline and full online support included in the price. What would you like close-ups of? It may be that they are covered in other, more recent videos
I’m asking out curiosity ( and perhaps ignorance ) about the use of lithium grease rather than molybdenum grease. In this application is one better than the other ?
How powerful is hw99s generally with one of your 31 coil springs and the two preload washers, and would it still shoot smoothly? I live in the Netherlands so if it’s over 12ft/lbs it’s no problem.
Hi iv tried to remove the weights out of my piston on my 99s and only the first one came out all the rest are jammed in there iv tried everything from banging ect they just won’t come out how can I resolve this problem
excuse me for my ignorance tbt.Are hw 99/98and 95 all the same dimension cylinders and pistons and swept volume ? what diameter is the piston head pls If its 26mm is it the same piston as the hw77/97.thx
Can you tell me if these springs would fit in a walther terrus please cuz I have a walther 22 but it's not powerful enough or do you have new kits for the walther terrus?
Great vid nick! Quick question when installing a maxi kit when i have removed the weights and washers from inside the piston it has damaged the liner can i fit without a new liner as a lot of people seem to remove them. Cheers

I have the Hassan 95 with the gas piston never had any problems till last week when I went to cock it it seem like it was already cocked the trigger will pull but nothing happens. Please help

My brother is looking into getting a HW98 from Germany, so I'm thinking of getting one of your kits to bring it up to 12ft/lb. The only thing putting me off is that in your ebay listing you say the spring will need cutting. I was under the impression you used the factory spring so not sure why it would need cutting. This is something I cant do myself as I dont have the right tools e.g a blow torch.
I believe cutting the spring is only to keep thr power down do to Europe rules. Also. Can help reduce recoil noise. I bought the kit, NOT cutting my spring!
Nice vid Nick! I tried to follow your steps, at the beginning, I just failed to disconnect the barrel & breech part without pulling out the mainspring in advance; the screw bolt seemed to be under tension, so I tried to undo the cock, hoped it will work, and failed again. Could you please show us how you strip down the barrel part ?
The easiest way is to remove the spring first. That way yu can break the barrel and remove the pin without any tension. Other than that its just unscrew the bolt and knock the pin through with drift.
