I love this car ! It looks so fast ! I wonder, how many laps can you do with a full charge ? And do you proceed with the charging, how long does it take ?
I totally agree with sasha on time attack giving the tuners more freedom to produce and prototype technologies. I feel like that is what makes traditional motorsports dull to younger people. The fan car is a fascinating car, would have been nice to see what that technology could have done had it not been banned so early on.
When Sasha speaks about the nitty gritty details you can see him smiling and his eyes sparkling. It's a true passion. I hope I can design insane stuff like that in the future when my engineering degree is done.
I' ve been following Sasha many years now and the evollution of the car is incredible... From NA to hybrid and allways be one of the fastest on the grid is mindblowing... This guy is allready a legend, great driver builder tuner he has all the package....
I absolutely love this car. Hands down the best 350z out there. Sasha is insanely smart. To have a couple of F1 parts on the car is just the best thing. lol
Finally hardwork paid off his main issue back then installing IMA system. The e motor shaft kept shearing off, due to high tq output from the engine. After few years of innovation it has paid off. Its finally refine and driving hard. Thanks Jackie ding. Most of us been waiting for this talk you and sasha.
I swear the second I have 300k in a market account I am quitting my job to go all in on starting a business around motorsports, I dont care if I live out of a garage lol mad motivational & inspiring you guys
Thanks for sharing this with us. I hate the car that is the basis for this project... But, I love the way MONTAINPASS PERFORMANCES raises the bar on tunnig. it is, for me, simply the best way to approach and use new technologies. without going through the "always more engine power" box. Nice...👍🏾
For hybrid in the Supra, I believe there are some longitudinal eCVT transmissions used in Lexuses. It would be very fast if you can use one of those to leverage the CVT infinite gear ratio to just hang it at peak power and accelerate the car under the engine. Would be a real challenge to control and hack the Toyota control systems.
Wow!!! This was so cool to about the break down. When I heard no clutch and flywheel, I instantly became more intrigued. How much was the curb weight of the vehicle?
Bro I remember when they were still just NA and the car was a sick ass green. I think….. damn I wish I remembered what color it was way back like 3-5 years ago
B58 only has a slight hybrid 48volt but that B58 is only in new BMW's but it's not meant for performance more for gas mileage. But that's a start. A Big Single Turbo Hybrid B58 would probably have 0 lag, hybrid system can work as a supercharger for low end.
How does he put it in neutral to heat up the motor? He said the motor is permanently connected to the tires and there's no clutch/flywheel.. The only thing I can think of is, he cuts power to the electric motor and let's it's free spin. The only down side is, if the gas motor produces more than the electric motor, will it overpower the electric motor and cause it to slip?? This is a very interesting idea.
Putting sequential manual on the Supra will make it lighter. Does not even have to be straight cut, companies like PPG offer helical geared sequential manual packages. But i guess that might put the Supra into another class?
I wonder if he answers questions here. I'd like to know why he is using Pirelli tires. I mean, on professional racing level, Pirelli is kinda slow. The 4 brands in GT300 are up to 4 seconds faster around Suzuka and they run with less power than SRO homologation so why isn't he running Michelin or Yokohama?
Too many hesitation and bad throttle control overall . Congrats for the car tho, it's just a wonderful project and i hope one day i will build something similar . Congrats guys !
