They truly do. We swam in my uncle’s pond and creek in Gettysburg. Wonderful memories. I want to try to share memories with my grandsons’ at a lake or River.
While recovering from a surgical procedure on my leg, I have been bing watching your videos. I came across you last year, in a green bean video 🤗 Zinc will now be included in every jar! They are so much more vibrant! I have to say, as a Christian, I have never come across someone who shows SO much JOY! Not happiness, REAL joy 😍 Love your channel!

I loved Harrison's little face when he tasted the lemon juice. I had a little blond haired boy, and now, Praise God, I have a blond haired grandson. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family and life with us.

Everytime I open one of your dropbox recipes, I get the same feeling as though I asked a family member for a recepe and they sent it email. Thank you Ruth Ann for your authenticity and personal touch.
Ruth Ann you are the busiest human I know. I so appreciate your tips on everything from food, gardening, preserving and your tips for motivating children. I mean, motivating them so they will eventually choose to do what needs to be done. They see the reason and that things done correctly is always better in the end. Thank you for sharing so much of your busy life so your viewers (me) can keep learning as we go through life.
Oh those hot summer days on the farm. I remember them well. It only bothered me at night. We didn’t even have window fans. I remember taking a cold washcloth and just fanning my face or sleeping with it on my forehead. My kids have NO idea what that’s like 😂
You all have such a blessed life i understand everyone has hard times and things go wrong but your joy outshines anything that might be going on. Your family shows that you are such a wonderful mother. What a BLESSING to be able to live on that gorgeous property and the way you care for your family and amimals is amazing. Thank you for sharing some of it with us.
❤Loved the Video & the Recipe s! Thank You RuthAnn for Sharing once Again Great knowledge & Your Beautiful Family & Farm LOVE ❤️ THE Calfs & Garden too. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING MORE!!❤ God Bless You All
My husband and I have just developed colds. So I went to the store and bought a blender and the supplies to make your decongest recipe. I am 65 and it is the first time I have EVER bought raw garlic! I took my first dose this afternoon, and my husband will take his first dose when. He gets home. Praying it will keep us from getting overly congested. My body is not going to know what hit it with this decongestant. 🤓🤓 I am loving what I am learning from your channel at my older age!
Thank you for telling us about not putting honey in boiling water when we make tea 😮. i've been loosing my good nutrients from honey cause i always add it after the boiling water &tea bag 👍🇨🇦
Great advice on the blackberries. I am surrounded by wild blackberries, but intend to prune and transplant them, so I guess I'd better get on it! Also, we grew up in the Midwest, and never had a/c. We went to the lake a lot to cool off. We survived even the hottest days in the water and shade. Now that I live in North Carolina, I simply don't run a/c (I'm off grid anyway, so have limited solar power). I get a little hot in the afternoon, but am comfortable the rest of the time if house/windows are closed down to trap in morning cool temps.
Just a warning about transplanting blackberries. Be sure you put them where you will always want them. I planted some wild blackberries at the back of my property and regretted it. Now I can’t get rid of them. I also planted some thornless blackberries in two different locations, one of which didn’t work out and 8 can’t get rid of the, either. They grow very deep and sturdy roots that are pretty impossible to dig out.
Wow! How cool! My great grandmother was an old order Mennonite from Ohio! Maybe we are cousins! Correction, we are probably cousins! :-) I would love to come visit and stay until I learn everything you know but since that would probably take too long to be impractical, I sure am glad you have this RU-vid channel! May God bless you and your family!
I absolutely love watching your program. The two boys are almost always involved in what you are doing. Your way of teaching them teaches us! Thank you for that... I have to say that I laughed out loud not once but three times in this video, when the boys were taste testing the salt and lemon! I backed up the video three times and laughed until I had tears in my eyes! The expression on the blond boys face is nothing but historical! Loved it!
Just found your channel and have been enjoying it. Went back and watched some older episodes and I got so tickled at the boys trying to halter train Tom and Jerry. Love it.
Dear Zimmermans! Love your way of life. Your garden is beyond glorious! Thank you sharing your lovely family with us. I admire all of your endeavors. Well Done🙏
I love your videos and just the natural way. Thank you and Kudo's to your children. They ask the questions we all would ask. Gonna make that tea this summer.
When I spent the summer at my Uncles in Arizona I ended up with Swimmers Ear, the doctor ended up draining the fluid from my ear, that built up. This recipe would have been very handi to have prevented it. You have so much great advice and knowledge.
I don't know how you have the strength and will to do all you do each day. Those two boys are like twins who need a lot of your attention. Love your family and your faith. God Bless.
E njoyed this video, especially the boys tasting the lemon when adding it to the tea. I laughed so much from the facial reactions from the lemon. Thanks : >
Every time I hear your music and watch you and your family my stress leaves me and I see that there is still such sweet beauty in the world when there are families such as yours. Your an incredible mom💜🙏🏻
What a joy it is to watch your videos. I learn something new nearly every single time. Your children have a wonderful life. Makes my heart sing. Thank you.
What a marvellous life you all have on the farm…so much hard work with so much reward at the end. Your recipes look delicious and your garden is simply amazing. Super swimmer ear recipe..already copied into my medicinal book! Thank you Ruth Ann and Zimmerman family! Happy harvesting x
I was lucky to be able to study with a woman from China, while I was in Grad School. She didn't use tea bags or a strainer. She drank the loose tea. I still use tea bags; but, I do own the equipment for loose tea leaves. I wish Mom had known about your way of preventing swimmer's ear. I nearly died when I was 12 years old, because of an infection in my left ear. I wasn't allowed to go swimming any more after that; and, I never learned how to swim. Your gardens are beautiful.
Morning RuthAnn ! Coming to you from California. Thank you so much for your inspiration and preparing food and drinks and canning. I love your garden. Even though I’m on oxygen you have given me inspiration to make more baked goods. I do make my own yogurt n Kefir. Love n Peace to your family. God Bless You
So glad to learn your recipe for hydrating iced tea and pruning raspberries ( I have red ones and blackberries) I like how the boys ask questions and are learning. lol My brothers used to put noise makers on their bikes also! lol Beautiful calves. All the best and God Bless you and your lovely family.
Thank you once again for sharing your experience and family with us! Your videos give me an early morning smile. And your children seemed to have grown a couple of inches too! God bless you all!
My oldest sis had surgery today. That smoothie bowl you made for lunch looks very good so i am going to make it for her as she will need a special diet to begin with. Please pray for her (Pam) We almost lost her last year after a hernia surgery. 2 hours after surgery she flat linned 2 times. They crushed her poor chest and just has not picked up very well. But her heart quit because she had been so anemic and had to get blood and they dont know why but you need to wait to have surgery once you have been given a blood transfusion. Thank you for sharing these ideas and recipes. God Bless
I grew up in the country and I remember hot summer and busy days. Mom and I would sit under the huge silver maple tree in our front yard and shell huge tubs of peas or snap beans. Milking cows morning and evening pouring milk into large metal cans and putting these cans into a tank of cold well water in the milk room. It was my job to clean the milk separator which had about 100 parts to clean (not my favorite job). God bless!
I just love how helpful your helpers are. And it's fun to sneak tastes of the lemon juice and salt. So cute!!! And I'm so grateful for the Swimmer's Ear remedy. I have grandbabies that love the water so this is very helpful. Thank you so much!
When I was a kid in the 50s, my folks didn't have air conditioning in Northwest WI. When it got hot and humid, we would either grab blankets and pillows and sleep with a fan on in the livingroom on the floor, or sometimes even on tthe cool basement floor on a thin mattress. We drank a lot of Kool Aid with lemon added. I like Redbush and Honeybush tea too because it has lots of antioxidants. And it's good cold.
It's really hot here in Alberta, Canada to. I think next year I will take my holiday in the South Pole. lol! 😊 Thank You for sharing what I never realized, of the work it takes to work your farm. I also enjoyed how much your boys wanted to learn.
Hey Ruth Ann, coming to you from rainy Nova Scotia, Canada (today); love your videos, can't get enough; doing the homesteading thing here too; learning lots from you, especially the pruning, and strawberry plants; can hardly wait for the next video; bless you and your lovely family
our blackberries in ozzi are covered in thorns like roses are, ,rabbits build their warrens under them for protection as kid 's checking our traps we would gorge on blackberries and return home with the most ridiculous purple lips LOL always had to watch for snakes as they would hunt the baby rabbits and come charging out if disturbed , man they were different times , another great presentation #CASHisKINGnoCBDC
Wow! I'm going to use every bit of the things you shared today! The tea looks amazing! Swimmers ear solution for the grandkids (and parents)! Smoothie bowls look scrumptious! And...I've been putting off working on the jungle that is our raspberry patch...you've inspired me to begin! Thank you so much. I always enjoy your videos, you are truly a blessing for me. So happy I found your channel! Blessings, Marie
You have such a beautiful family and such a lovely farm. Your videos bring back so many wonderful memories for me. I just love watching you taking care of your children and your day-to-day life. I grew up in the Los Angeles area until I was 13 and my parents decided that they were going to move to the valley and live on a homestead. We always had a big backyard garden and my parents canned vegetables. I used to sell tomatoes door to door in my neighborhood. This was the early 1970's. But I had no idea that my dad knew how to care for farm animals. It was all new to us 3 kids. He bought 75 baby chicks, a Jersey milk cow, and 3 piglets, later came the ducks, and 2 steers. My mother processed the cream and made butter and it was incredibly delicious. The collecting eggs and 2nd milking of Nosey was my job. And I loved every minute of it. I even had an egg stand my dad made for us so I could sell eggs out in front of our house. I am a new subscriber but have been watching your video's and just love them so much. Thank you.
Beautiful homestead, beautiful family. Yes, God is good. 😊You can also use rubbing alcohol with a tiny bit of glycerine to keep it from drying out the skin in the ear. Really good video, the remedies are very valid... some of the supporting detail needs adjustment... caffeine free tea is more hydrating as caffeine is a diuretic and makes you lose fluids; heat destroys the enzymes in the honey, the minerals should be fine; some bacteria does live in acid, but the rubbing alcohol should wipe those out. Love your joy! The boys are so cute! Hope that info. is helpful. God bless!!
That ear wash is the same recipe I have been using on my goldendoodles since they have been pups 10 years ago. My daughter is a dog groomer & vet tech, she recommended this to me for my dogs.
About 22 years ago my son was a baby (under a year). He was scratching and pulling at his ears. Dr. Ship was our small town doctor and he was in his 70s. I my son to see him. He looked in ear and said he has an ear infection take him home and pour a cap of peroxide in his ears. Surprised I asked, No antibiotic? He said, no! Because he’s little do it a couple times per day. But he said if you get an ear infection leave the peroxide in till it quits bubbling (you can hear it) then drain it out. We swim in a 2 acre pond on the farm that the horses drink from. It totally works too!
I knew an elderly lady whose mother did this regularly and the peroxide ate the bones in her middle ear causing her to be partially deaf. Be careful with peroxide in the ear.
@@sallylynn4579 You don’t use it unless the kid is complaining of their ear hurting or little ones will pull at their ears. Doing it “on a regular basis” is undefined. But is likely once a week or daily, and that’s taking it to an extreme. Of course you don’t do that. If a person wants to clean their ears let the water get in them while you shower or bathe and drink lots of water. Our family may have ear aches about twice a year.
You have the heart of a teacher. I so enjoy all the things I learn from you and that your children are learning from you and your hubby. You are a blessing to many!
In my parent's vintage house there is no airflow even with ALL the windows open! Summers were miserable before central air and window AC. I'm in the process of buying my own 100+ year old house with lots of windows so maybe mine will be different!
Love your channel! I brew the tea in a mason jar and place the mason jar strainer lid on top. Pour into another mason jar when fully brewed. The strainer lid was a great find.
Hi RuthAnn and sweet family! Thank you for sharing these recipes and remedies with us. I grew up with no air conditioning and as a kid it didn’t really bother me. But once I had air conditioning, I just about melted or so it seemed. It’s what your body acclimates to I guess. That brought back memories of my childhood riding my bicycle and using a clothespin with a card to make a sound when riding the bicycle. Of course we didn’t have a bicycle till I was about 8 years old and it was a second hand, but it was new to me. It was purple (my favorite color) with a banana seat. Thank you again and I hope you and your precious family have a blessed day!
Thank so so much for the pruning instructions. It was perfect… simple, easy to understand and to the point! Excited to get started pruning mine!! Your garden is beautiful! 💛🌻💛
