Now that we understand the root of the problems with the hydrostatic transmission control system on Jeff’s Cub Cadet 1772, we’re installing the replacement bracket and plate along with new buttons and springs, but first we’ll take a moment to marvel at the wear evident on the old parts when we break out the calipers to compare them to the new. Once we’ve used our new shims and snap rings to achieve a tight fit, we’ll test the system and adjust for neutral.
