Thank you for the release latch I had to do this today, I broke a key inside cylinder. What a pain I must say but little by little I managed to fix it up in 3 hrs, even though tearing apart certain parts was a pain.

Where do you purchase just the lock cylinder independently (I have a manual 2003 Hyundai Accent)? I am only able to find the entire ignition lock cylinder thing that's like $400.

Can this be done if the key is stuck in ignition .It won't turn down into lock potion .

Simple enough ;-D The only bad thing about ignition locks is when it fails or the key breaks off inside, grinding bolts off to replace the whole thing can be a pain :-(

I get that all the time....my key is stuck and i cannot turn my ignition cylinder what can i do ?

Run down the road screaming with your hands in the air. It won't fix the problem, but you might feel better lol :-D

this is why the first thing i do when i buy new car is to get to that lock cylinder and remove the small pins inside so the barrel can be rotated freely and the key can be taken off even if you're in the ON or ACC position :D
