If your car is surging, it could be the Throttle Position Sensor / TPS. Here's how you test it with a Hyundai Elantra model year 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.
hello friend, where do we pass the current cable to install an amplifier from the battery to the rear box in the same car that you have, I can't find where to pass that cable.
I went in and tried to replace the bad sensor on my 2008 Hyundai Elantra. I used a mirror to see the two screws were the kind that can use either flat head or phillips. I could get a 2" long screwdriver on the screws holding the sensor, but I could not get enough torque on them to loosen them; they've been on for 16 years. Even if I could get them off, I don't know if I could get them back on because it's a mostly blind effort. It seems like you need to take off the metal housing off to the left of the 3" hose and I have no idea if that's easy, hard, or what ... and if you're digging yourself quite a hole to climb out of. I've put everything back as it was for now ... and the throttle surge and hesitation will continue. btw, after release the small hose clamp, I could not get the small side hose to pop off. It was enough out of my way to do the above. And I could not figure out the dual catches of the small cover. I could pop one open, but not the other.
