In this video I introduce the newest Rc Build I have planned for the channel!! Amazon Affiliate Links - Traxxas Slash 2wd Low Center of Gravity Conversion Kit #5830 - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...
I'm in the final stages of building one, as well...but, instead of starting with a 2WD Slash, I discovered it's cheaper to start with a Bandit. Using the Bandit, I added the Slash LCG Conversion Kit, and then replaced the Bandit C-hubs, steering knuckles, and front axles with the Slash versions. Obviously, I've done a LOT more than that...but, that's how I started it. Even though I'm not quite finished-finished with that first car, I'm already in the pre-building steps of what will become my second NPRC drag car, this one being based on a TLR 22 5.0 1/10 2WD buggy.
@@RCKnockout For the TLR-car, I haven't decided yet, but I'm leaning towards the late 60s Mustang. As for the Slash/Bandit-based, I have a body...and, I'm actually blanking right now on what it is...lol
Looking forward to this build! I recently got a slash 4x4 and I've been trying to find interesting slash mods and projects and so far you are the only RU-vidr i watch to get info and help with my Slash. I'm a big fan of cheaper mods and your videos have been insanely helpful, fun and interesting, i can't wait for more slash videos.
You can use silicone earplugs. This is very sturdy and doesn’t leake. I use them in the central diff of the xmaxx and it’s almost locked now. Tip from Kevin talbot.
@@RCKnockout I see what you mean. I would try to put in as much as possible. Push it in all crevasses with a hex driver. After few runs open it up again and put in some more. I can not garantie it will be 100% but it is worth trying it. Worst case scenario it doesn’t work, but it will not damage anything.
@@RCKnockout every now and then ( every 2 weeks actually 🤣) when I smash up my xmaxx, and it needs some work, I always check it. In a total period of 6 months, only 2 times I could put in some extra. Just try and see what it does I would say 😉👍
@@RCKnockout Just getting started with it. I have only driven it around on the street in front of my house. Painted a couple of custom bodies for it. I’m that guy that enjoys working on them and fixing them up more than actually driving them. 😂🤣😂🤣
@@christopherrice1375 I understand….yeah sometimes when I do a build I don’t like running it the first time just cause I wanna keep it looking good….I get over it after the first run though lol 😂
Nice build; I’ve got 2 lcg slash builds; and a dr10 build. Arms; depend on the body. My vette body uses bandit arms and links; my grand national could use front slash arms; rear bandit arms. Diff; I run lockers in mine; you can fill your planetary diff with JB weld and turn it into a locker. Tires; your gonna want belted if your putting down any power; I don’t believe the MTs are belted. Your shock towers will work great; as will the proline mounts.
Trans; in my main drag car; I’m running a hot racing hybrid case; Robinson racing hardened idler; new (black) hot racing locker inside a stock diff case.
Nice! Sounds pretty sweet…yeah I don’t believe these tires are belted….I might go the cheap way and put a locker in rather than getting an entirely new diff or transmission…how does your’s hook up running the locker?
@@RCKnockout it hooks up great; steering isn’t as good; but you don’t need turning in a drag car. If you go with a locker; go with the new black version.. the old blue version breaks
Rpm gearbox is good in that it has adjustable toe mounts; BUT it’s a horrible trans case as Rpms plastics flex too much and allow the gears to strip. I run the hot racing hybrid case in my main drag car.
@@RCKnockout it helps keep them from breaking in the suspension parts, I HIGHLY recommend the bearing carriers / steering knuckles and arms.. but flex in the trans case isn’t good; as it hurts the gear mesh
nice i have one too i need to upgrade my esc i have the vxl esc and cant tune it with non tsm contoller getting a hobbywing this winter for it i have a 6000 kv motor off amazon
