I'm really glad Andrew and you are taking the night off. You deserve to enjoy your wedding and celebrate to the fullest without having to worry about work.
Girl look at small/fancy bridal boutiques because they might actually have some contacts with the Australian designer! Sometimes it's the smaller shops that have all the samples. Probably quite expensive but call around smaller boutiques and ask if they have access to samples from the designer you have in mind. Someone might just!
Annoyingly only a few airlines out of the UK allow dogs in the cabin. There are some private jet companies that specialise in booking seats for dog transportation
One of the most memorable parts of my wedding is my very best friend who was an amazing seamstress made my garter and the tie that went around my flowers. She also hid my “something blue” in both. You could DIY those things.
Having worked in bridal, a tiny bit of advice: at about a year out, your dresses need to start topping the list of priorities because they can take as much as 6-9 months to come in after being ordered, plus you need alteration time. Having worked in fashion, you might know this but so many of my brides did not. Also don’t try to pack too many appointments into a day because it will become exhausting and all the dresses start to blend together. It can do more harm than good to try that
Right around 13:20 made me so happy! This is my opinion as well! Nothing should change. It kind of feels like a red flag to me if you get married and suddenly things are different. For me and my husband our wedding was amazing, but it was basically just the best party we've ever thrown 🎉🥰
The Galapagos is awesome and you can totally be horizontal with your drink most of the time because the only way to do it is on a boat. It's definitely more adventure vibes than romance vibes, but you can relax when the boat is moving and you can live in a bathing suit every day if you want. If you're going straight from your wedding to your honeymoon, it is quite a flight, but it's also one of the most gorgeous places in the world. Iceland would be much closer and just as naturally beautiful, but definitely not beach-y and warm. You could always do the Azores for hiking, but also beach and relaxation (also closer than the Galapagos). As for dogs and flying to Europe, your dogs look too big to be in the cabin, but there are all sorts of ways to fly your dog over without being in a cargo hold. There are flights now that are just for pets that are monitored by vets and other companies where the only thing they do is fly pets across the Ocean. Also La Compagnie allows dogs up to 33lbs in the cabin with you. They only fly to France, but once you're there, the trains are awesome and and definitely allow you to have your dog with you. I love that you're thinking of your dog's health and wellbeing first!! There are options that shouldn't be too stressful for him if you're willing to pay for it.
I DIY’d my veil and I’m so glad I did. I got a white fabric headband and added lace and pearls. Inside I sewed in Velcro and on the veil itself. So I wore it with during the ceremony and detached it for the reception. ❤
Yes, best not to bring your fur babies to another country. Not only will you need to make sure they are up to date on on the health things, you have to fill out paperwork from the country you are also going to and most likely they will confine your pets for x amounts of days before you can even get them. To much stress . So excited for you and Andrew!!! Edit: PS do not forget to do you court documents before or after you get back from your wedding. 🥰❣
I had a big ass full skirt basque waist wedding dress. Highly recommend! I also wore my mom's wedding veil from 1977 which was huge and full with a lacy headpiece that was spectacular and fun! I can't wait to see your bridal looks. Congratulations!
We are all so excited for you! I hope you most of all get to find FUN in this process, there is no 'right' way to have your wedding, as long as it spreads joy and love. I've been to fancy weddings, I've been to casual weddings, the parts I remember most fondly is the love and the friends🙂
Hey Maddie, If you happen to have indecision when it comes to dresses a fun way to incorporate a third dress option is a "Send-Off Dress" 😊 In my previous work as a wedding coordinator this was a great option for when you fall in love with something you don't want for your ceremony. Of course this depends on the timeline of events during the reception and what your dream is, but it is a super fun way to wear something more simple or sleek for your exit photos. ❤️ Lots of love!
My daughter did the 3 wedding dresses, the best decision ever! She still brings out the 2 party dresses for anniversary and other special occasions. So glad to see you on YT with longer vids. Thanks for that!
Maddie about your dogs, I read about a couple who found it cheaper to fly their dogs from London to New York in private jet rather than cargo - might be worth looking into especially if you can do a sponsored post or brand deal with them?
Congratulations! If you don't mind, I would suggest a honeymoon destination that has beautiful views/pools/water that also has excursions. Way back 15 years ago, my husband and I went to Hawaii, we also vacation very differently (I am you and my husband is your Andrew), so we did an every other day honeymoon. Every other day we laid by the pool or the beach or our room, and the other days we did something my husband wanted to do. We thought it was a nice compromise. Good luck with all of your planning, looking forward to seeing more long form content! Thank you for sharing!
You could always pull a Kelly Ripa. Professionally, she kept her maiden name, but in her private life, she's Kelly Consuelos. Definitely don't let other people influence your decision either way. It's not really a big deal imo
RE: the pets traveling for the wedding The main thing you have to really check into and be sure about is pet quarantine rules and how LONG the quarantine will be before your pets can be released. It varies by country, but sometimes a pet quarantine can take MONTHS and involve lot of paperwork from your own veterinarian, paperwork for any country the pets will be entering, being caught up on shots, etc. Also check to see if each country's requirements for shots are different from the US / Canada, especially if an island is the destination. So be sure you have ALL of that squared away well in advance.
Smartest thing regarding dress is one that is made to convert into a party dress...like say has big poofy skirt for ceremony but is removable to reveal slinky dress or smaller party skirt...Does such a thing exist? No Clue but sounds great in theory. AND Honestly you will look amazing in whatever you pick. Congrats.
Congratulations Maddie❣️❣️❣️ I love your channel and your accent. Since small I studied at a British School in Mexico.. So Beautiful memories come hearing your wonderful British accent, is a blast for me. Following you has been a dream. Why? Because of your great personality and that shows in how you mix and match your incredible clothe and end up with an amazing piece of ART!!! I wish both of you the best, you deserve it Maddie❣️ My very best wishes from Buenos Aires, Argentine!❣️❣️❣️
Yes come to Australia!!!!! You’ll love it! I’m in Sydney and if you need help with info or anything hit us up I’m sure all of us here in aus watching your videos will be able to help in one way or another. FYI if you both want your dream honeymoon, plenty of beautiful beaches here you can relax with your book on while Andrew is off snorkeling etc. we also have a place you can go visit and millions of butterflies fly around you and land on you in Sydney city, just in case you needed a little more encouragement to come down under 😂
Congrats!! 🤍🤍 You should totally diy something close to you like your ‘something blue’ if you are into those kinds of traditions. Can’t wait for the wedding video ✨
Have you checked out Bark Air? The new airline for dogs. There is also always the private jet route. It cost about $20k each way to fly 3 dogs internationally.
Im with Andrew... DEFINITELY need the 100% Canadian cheese curds for the Poutine 🤤😋. Congratulations again Maddie and Andrew. I cant wait too see video's and pictures of both the dresses and of your beautiful wedding day 💜💜💜💜💙💙💙💙💙
Do not try on too many wedding dresses because they will all begin to blur into one! Its worth considering smaller designers including vintage! You do have the option of finding an excellent seamstress and designing your own wedding dress! Its nice to incorporate sonething personal whether its family jewellery or something from your mothers wedding dress, you know something old , something borrowed, something blue etc!❤ Wedding days are exhausting and will fly by very quickly! So limit the costume changes! Spend the day having fun and with your guests!😊
My husband and I were together for almost 14 years and lived together for 12 when we got married and we also thought nothing would change, but there's something about professing your love for each in such a public setting in front of all of your family and friends that we felt like our relationship really did reach a higher level. For weeks afterwards, we kept randomly telling each other how amazing and weird it is that it feels so different. We both describe it as thinking you've reached the final level in a video game and then finding a secret final level which is actually the "boss" level. I'm excited for y'all to experience it. Also, legally changing your name is a BITCH. We decided against it because we're too lazy. 😂
Hi Maddie! As someone who had 2 dresses, I'd totally reccommend having 2 days to celebrate 😂 the 2nd dress was a waste tbh (I loved both as well) but I just wanted to keep my big dress on all day. So if you want to 2 dresses, have a huge party on day 2 😂 also it gives you something else to look forward to after the big day.
Surprisingly, getting married does change things. I don’t know why, but from first hand knowledge, it does. That doesn’t mean it’s bad though. Congratulations 🍾
I kept my maiden name as my middle name and took my hubbies last name. That way I could slowly transition everything over ☺️ love the longer form content!!
If you're having multiple parties and locations throughout the day, you could have the ceremony all white/muted to focus on the location and your huge dress, and have more colour (possibly reflected in your outfits too) further down the line 🥹 With the honeymoon, there's so many places in/near Europe to combine activities and leisure! Malta is amazing for diving/snorkeling/exploring, but also simple resort holidays. Iceland could be interesting for both of you too. Same with Lofoten and many more northern places. By giving up that long flight to Galapagos, you could probably get the best of both worlds by choosing one (or multiple 👀) places in Europe! Also, I always found it weird that the US/UK weddings end so quickly. 4 AM is the norm where I'm from 🍾
There is this new like expenisive way to travel that puts pets first and people second and it looks SOOOOOOOOOOOOo cool, I don't know if they go to Europe so.... but I think it could be a good option!!!
As well as your destination wedding, do a little home situation for Murphy where he can be the ring bearer! ❤ A long flight for an 11 year old dog could be a heart breaker.
If she’s giving Easter eggs then the cherry earrings are a nod to Pasha so Ibiza! However legally you have to be a resident so they may have to have a civil ceremony in uk or Canada or USA first
CONGRATULATIONS!! 🎉🎉 Taking your pets on such a long flight, It is very rough on them, plus what about quarantine restrictions? Wishing you Joy, Love, Laughter, Health and more Always!!
The Galapagos is stunning, I went there last summer with some people from my school. If you do go something you could do is snorkel at the beach (we did that at San Cristobal). So some of us could snorkel while others could be on the beach and relax. There's so much marine life there. Near the shore is a lot of fish and just a bit further out we saw turtles. Another thing we did was go to Sierra Negra, its a fairly easy hike from what I remember, its just a bit long. But I also get the flight being long. I was suffering on the flight to Madagascar which took almost a day without including layover time. Hope this helps. Congratulations!
Just went to the Galapagos and if you want to go there, you MUST stay at the Pikaia Lodge. It is the perfect place to combine your ideal honeymoons and there are very few fancy places around, but this is the best place I’ve ever stayed in my life hands down. Anywhere.
Are you doing a unity candle, for my wedding we found Unity Glass, you pick different color glass pieces then after it’s mixed at the wedding you send it back and they make a vase out of it.
Congrats Maddie! About the last name question, you can always add his last name to yours, that way you can keep your handles and branding but still have his last name. I did that bc my husband wanted me to add his name but I didn't want to get rid of my family name. We also plan on our kids also having both our last names.
My eldest daughter just got married. She had no attendants, no best man, no veil, no Dad walking her down the aisle. Her cake was extremely minimalist, a gold column on a black base. Edit. My daughter kept her name too.
I read about an American airline that cater to pets. With special dog treats and everything. But it is a privet jet situation and I'm not sure they fly international.. Besides they're probably being hella expensive..
I costed out mine the same, by time and use. Realizing one time wear for about 2hrs all in, I forwent the pricey gown and got my ballgown wedding dress at a quincenera shop, and reception suit at Saks. I still wear the jacket from the suit!
I would also check to see if the Australian wedding dress Designer has showrooms anywhere in the Americas or Europe. That way you could try at least the sample which would be closer to your size. ❤
Beautiful looking couple, I never noticed how green Andrew's eyes are. My cousin had a destination wedding, but still had to get married at the court house so you can bring the doggies there!
About taking the pets, there is a company that lets you and take your pet on a private jet, with other pets / pet owners too - basically a luxury car pool ha! I believe you can fly with them too, but not exactly sure - I got it served as an ad once (clearly was on the wrong algorithm 😂). It's called K9 and I don't know the costs but maybe worth looking into as an option :)
