This video is the third of a mini series of videos where we feature great places to visit in WV.
In this video, we hike 2.85 miles up North Fork Mountain to Chimney Top where we got to experience some incredible views. I have to say, Kelly and I were definitely feeling this hike when we were done. Seemed harder than it was 20 years ago!

I am really enjoying this series on the beauties of WV. My wife and I been to Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks, Dolly Sods, Blackwater Falls, Greenbank, Cass Railroad, Greenbrier, Oglebay Park, Palace of Gold, Moundsville Penitentiary, Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, New River Gorge, Twin Falls State Park, Hillbilly Hotdogs, and Point Pleasant's Mothman Museum but I have never heard of Chimney Top or the North Fork Trail until I watched this video. My brother will be staying at Yokum's at Seneca Rocks this fall so I passed this information along to him and he is excited about checking out Chimney Tops. Thanks for all the great videos!

Head down the road a few miles and enjoy the view from on top of Seneca rocks. The path is made for guys our age, and the view is just as spectacular.

Done that many times since I was a kid. We enjoy that hike too. This trail actually looks down on Seneca rocks

Love it. Reminds me of hiking with my girlfriend and her parents. We were so pumped to be together we were going up the mountain ahead and then back tracking to her parents. 😂you gotta love the mountains.

Love your vlog. A piece of "information" from my distant past. In 1964 I knew a young coupe from the hills of your fine state who politely informed me that the proper pronunciation is Not "West Virginia", but is properly stated as "West 'By God' Virginia"

We say “West, By God, Virginia” because you wouldn’t believe how many people don’t know that we are actually a state and believe that we are a part of “western Virginia.”

I got to drive thru a little of WV few yrs ago bringing a car from PA to GA.no kids so I could stop when I wanted to.

I took a hike at pipestem state park a few years ago on a trail that lead from canyon rim down to the bluestone river. The map estimated it to be just over 3 miles. It took almost 6 hours to complete round trip. We were coming out in the dark,lol. I think their map was a little off,lol.

No. It is independent of the ATS

The ATS just briefly skirts the Eastern Panhandle of WV at Harper's Ferry.

@@koolaskoalas I'm with ya, unfortunately. Told my husband if we tried it, we'd have to start at daybreak so we could get there by dusk. But the way down doesn't look so easy either. We might have to tie ourselves to a tree and sleep there till morning!
