Good 'ol I-88, that used to be my secret rush hour escape route of Chicago to points west. Traffic is non-existent past the IL-56 exit towards Quad Cities and decent travel plaza in DeKalb, IL.

I-290 from I-294 to I-90/I-94 should be part of I-88. But, will it happen? Probably not. Also, when will the Downtown Chicago (Chicago, Illinois - 4K Downtown Drive) video drop (including Chinatown, the North Loop, West Loop, Navy Pier, Goose Island, Prairie Ave. Historic District, etc.? I'm really excited to see that video.

I agree Ryan, I-290 violates its directional stance when it decides to go northward. I-88 should take its eastern direction and end in Chicago. But that's never gonna happen as nobody cares about numbering anymore

88 used to be a state road beginning in Mount Carroll and ending near Peoria. It has been renamed IL-40.

Western I-88 (the eastern portion is in New York State). Have always opted for the Tri-State, except for one time to go to old Comiskey Park and see the White Sox; then I took 57 north to the Dan Ryan and 35th Street. Used to be a time when the turnpikes and tollways were a bit of an adventure. Not anymore; just another highway you pay a toll on...

I-88 begins and ends in my hometown ! Are you gonna be this way in the Quad Cities anytime soon? I-88 turns into John Deere Road (Illinois State Route 5) if you’re coming in from west at the interchange with I-80 and continues all the way around the southern edge to my hometown and stops about a couple south of my house.

They finally complete the DDI at 74 and JDR? Haven't been to the IL QC in forever and don't really watch the news anymore, I make my way to Davenport at least once every other month, though.

@@joeblow5214 no they haven’t even started it yet, I think that project starts in a year or two . They just paved JDR over I-74 but they did widen JDR between 74 and 70th Street a couple years back. It’s real nice , I work at the plaza where Walmart and Lowe’s is .

this is the last tollroad i drove where you would have to stop and throw tollchange into the baskets after every however many miles, haven't been onit in awhile since i stay on i80 into the southern 'burbs
