Great point ! I feel like i personally feel bad bc i know INSTANTLY the parent is judged whenever their kids have long braids. As you said it shouldn’t be something that defines the child , but i know deep down the judgement is coming.

I did this with my daughter too when she was 5. It was the first time I did some purple box braids in 8 years, and I didn’t think to cut the braiding hair in half and just add length ass needed, and in the end it was waist length. I was like 😮 but it was cute. We only kept it in for about a week cause I didn’t want all that tension on her scalp.

Right. When kids are young, they don’t need the extra length. Because for them it is heavy. I think people are opinionated for little girls that have long weave because they should be embracing their own hair.

She does hair for a living and God gave her a break and blessed her with a boy so he can go to the barber shop with the men. I agree with her. I would do everybody’s hair and then had a daughter. Now, I’m doing her hair. She saves money because she has a mother that does hair. It’s tiring as well. I know when she is home she wants to chill.

Wow, my first grandson has thick red hair that is kept short almost 5 yrs old and my second grandson who will be 3 next month has blonde thin long hair curly on the ends. When I was growing up kids with long hair were thought to be girls but the past couple decades both boys and girls have long hair if their parents like it that way

These comments are ridiculous. She can style her hair anyway her mother wants and pays for it to be done. It's still age appropriate. My daughter is 9 and her natural hair is butt length, so when her hair is braided, its extremely long. Extensions are only added to help the braids look nice and neat. Leave this girl alone. Her hair is not even completely stretched.
