I'm 60 (young) and play Jelly Roll on guitar and sing it. Most of my peers don't know the song. It pleases me so much that to know when I'm gone, there are younger generations around the world who love the song and perform it just as I have done. Cool.
@@STEAMBOATSTOMPERS Agree. If it could, it would be a cornet. I know because I played both. Shaye playes both and many other instruments as well. Shs is a musical genius w/o a doubt.
Are you from Argentina?: I live in Texas now but when I was in Buenos Aires, the Murais where friends and neighbors of our and made mosquito coils El Buda.
you prolly dont care at all but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I love any tips you can offer me!
I love the look of admiration on the Japanese trumpet players face as he watches Shaye play, he's a horn player and appreciates how good she really is.
Is that a young Tamura Makiko on clarinet? Sure it is. Not only an excellent player but she has that something extra that makes you remember her name. Beautiful jazz!! Good to see Shaye abroad, spreading the love..
@@markhorton3994 funny that a four year old comment comes to live again, yes Chloe is very good indeed as well, will no try to rank them, just enjoy the music
I am delighted that JAZZ has taken root and is really flourishing in JAPAN.Eigo ga dekimasu?Wonderful music and played by outstanding musicians.!Bravo!
Wonderful rendition! :-) Great to know that young people around the world are learning the old ways. Don't miss Sweet Emma Barrett's version with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band!
I think I’ve used every superlative ever invented for Shaye, so I'm going to have to invent some new ones for the other musicians. A bit of an extra shout out for the clarinetist and bassist! Their instruments definitely sang rather than were played.
I have to say that Jazz and ragtime are not, in my mind, normally associated with the Japanese, but it has to be said that they excel on any instrument that excites their interest. Nice that they loosened up a bit the further in they got. The pianist started out looking like my granny playing the church organ, but ended up bobbing along in the spirit of the music.
I'm 84, both parents played these great old tunes, my father Frank Melrose, and my mother Fran, My kids love to hear me play and sing all of these wonderful, never to be forgotten, tunes. I know the words to this song and still find it a blast to sing, or play t he piano or singalong!
@@Tonetwisters Funny I don't see her in a sexual way at all. Objectively she IS beautiful but I see mostly the musician. I see one of the best of all time. Multi instrumental soloist. Selfless collaborator. Composer. Arranger. Finder of lost tunes. Invisible band leader. The opposite of a certain other multi talented female jazz band leader. (Hint her first name starts with G and her middle name must be either I or ego)
Quelle intelligence de jeu qu'à SHAYE COHN j'adore sa façon de jouer mais aussi d'écouter les autres de se placer avec, et de leader en toute sérénité BREF J'ADORE cette musicienne
how beautiful...2 cultures come together on music....love asians soo polite.clean n quiet AND for them to adopt our blues n jazz music takes real effort from them...n of course thers Shaye pulling it all together. bravo!!.
It just don't get any better than this, they are all truly professionals. Shaye Cohn is well known in the music circles, New Orleans would not be the same without her~USA
There's just something so subtly sexy about Shay, her talent, underlying spirit, laid back showmanship, and confidence. Gotta love a woman with earthly talents, and a built-in non-stop metronome. Thank you Shay!
At 0:00 - 0:45 duet of Shaye Cohn + Makiko Tamura, two of the absolutely best N O musicians in the world today! And it is five years ago. My dream is to see them together again. And Makiko's solo 1:30 - 2:12 is of course great as always.
Shaye done got fancy with the wah-wah machines, dropping the toilet plunger for a refined, tone-changing shiny mute thing (I'm a guitar player, OK?). Big Mouth player workin' that Captain SOLO offa that chord chart ... Dearly love the influence that American culture has all over this world ... And Shaye got some lungs, what? I LOVED that! That rocked! Well, OK ... That speak easy'd!
