Long time lurker here, just wanted to comment and say thank you so much for what you do on this channel, and for the flight simulation community. Your videos are invaluable, I'm sure I speak for all of us here when saying that.

I was shouting at the screen "Glidescope is 3.5 not 3 on the chart". Good on you that you left the mistake in the video and corrected it at the end! Excellent as usual--I have learned so much from you!

I just tried this method for a ILS into Ottawa and it worked like a charm perfect descent from 20,000 ft to 3000 to catch my glideslope into Ottawa.....definitely a thumbs up and subscription!!🔥🔥

Since transitioning over to XP11 I've almost exclusively flown the B738 by Zibo, and I learnt a lot by watching videos from another real world pilot here on RU-vid under the name flightdeck2sim. I learnt a lot from his videos, and ever since starting to fly the A320, which I picked up back around Christmas, I've been looking for someone who can fill that knowledge gap with the Airbus. That turned out to be you. Great videos my friend!

I’ve only recently discovered your channel, but thanks for making these videos man. While I don’t fly the FF320 (I fly the FsLabs one in P3d), it’s still very applicable. Keep ‘em coming!

This is one of my favorite approaches. I fly the KLAX to KSAN LOC all the time. Its a lot of fun and its a beautiful approach as you approach downtown. It all has a great missed approach route if you want to give it a run.

Hello Captain, and many thanks for all your clear and precise explanations. I enjoyed the video a lot, and will be watching all of them. I think you are doing an awesome job trying to teach us simmers the logic behind the airbus and the proper techniques to utilize. I also had a chance to watch the video where you explain which is the best joystick to use that more closely simulates the real one on an airbus, and as soon as I can afford it, I will definitely go out and buy it (we are talking about the Warthog, but just the stick, as I only fly civilian aircraft). Keep up the good work, and I will spread the word among my sim friends who fly airbuses to come here, subscribe to your channel, and enjoy it. A big thank you from Milan :) Enrico

I am glad you admitted the mistake at the final descent and presented the solution. At 2000' 3.5 deg I would suggest stabilized approach technique and get fully configured before setting the FDA (In your case it was F2 Gear NOT down, kinda aggressive :>)

This is a great video tutorial! It made me really clear about the every step that I should take. But just one question, from the chart, the glide slope from REEBO to the 27 was showing a 3.5 descent angle. Are we suppose to change the descent angle at REEBO to intercept the glide path?

Hey cap! Aren't you supposed to set your GA altitude as soon as you pass your FAF/FDP and pull your FPA? Precisely to avoid that ALT* at 2K. Do you guys have any early stabilized policies regarding LOC or Nav FPA approaches? Btw in our company a sink rate autocallout is a mandatory GA. Tks for sharing!

Excellent tutorial! I am sure you've noticed that the final descent profile is 3.5 degrees :-) I have a question. If an RNAV approach has a step-and-drag profile and I would like to flight constant descent, can I still use essentially the same method in the video (of course, intercepting an extended FAF line using DIR TO, RADIAL IN, and arming APP instead of LOC)?

Very good Video, just have Question what is your specifications of your computer and your video card you’re using and your settings in Xplane 11? Because I have the same A320 sim but the cockpit picture and outside view looks way nicer on your computer than mine, it will be a big help if you can provide me with these info.
@KeithWSt
@KeithWSt 3 года назад
Thanks from me too for all the excellent A320 tutorials. One question on this, you increase descent rate to 4 degrees when extending the flaps to 3 and full, but would you then keep the rate at 4 degrees or revert to 3 once it had settled. You took over manually at that stage, what would you have done if you’d kept the AP on a while longer? Thanks again.
@peteconrad2077
@peteconrad2077 3 года назад
The approach should be flown configured and stabilised. Shouldn’t be configuring in the way down anyway.

Hi there V1-Simulation. Could you do a flaps 3 landing on the ToLiss, and maybe talk a bit about it. when why and how! Cheers
@alkis5307
@alkis5307 4 года назад
you said you need to start your descent 6.5 miles from REEBO. What i didnt understand is the altitude that you have to be. Because if you are not at the right altitude you are gonna end up higher that 2000ft which is REEBO. and also with what vertical speed?

For the Toliss A319 with IAE engines, what number do you use for the initial spoolup prior to takeoff as the IAE use EPR, not N1?
@V1Sim

Bill Barrette 1.15 is a good ballpark number as thats close to 50% N1

Excellent video, thank you. Could you please let me know why you disconnect FD before landing? If a GA is required, FD should should be engaged? One more question, ATHR is also disconnected before landing also? Thanks!
@V1Sim
@V1Sim 5 лет назад
On a non precision approach depending on your airlines SoPs you will have to disconnect at the MDA or or around there as the aircraft is not in a precision vertical mode. For instance I was in FPA so I must disconnect the FDs sot he AutoThrust wont continue providing power for the decent angle (can be very complex I will make sure to touch on this subject in future videos, thank you for bringing it up) During a GA when TLA reaches TOGA the FDs will come back on

..nice video's! I have been practicing missed approaches to the published hold with the Toliss A319. I move throttles to TOGA, flps, gear, then on schedule. The FMGS shows the hold in the flight plan, but it doesn't get depicted on the screens. I am in managed mode pushing in knob, light illuminated. Sometimes I see the MAP track depicted with a dashed line. I try re-engaging heading to NAV,,(pull, push)..no sequencing. Do I have to disengage the autopilot on the miss? It seems to fly it fine staying engaged throughout the missed procedure, pitching to the SRS speed(green dot, flight directors on). I move throttles back to CL mode on command at acceleration height...any ideas?...thanks for all the shared info-Read more Show less

Ok, great to know. Just got the Toliss today 😀 I wonder what effect Experimental Mode has on the Toliss 🤔 Binge watched all your videos, even the old ones. Good stuff there and looking to check out future ones. Here might be an idea...How to do CDA descents from cruise level to runway. I understand leveling off anywhere during descent unless ATC requires it is generally a no no.

Not really, the RNAV/GPS is actually much simpler, I believe in the 4th and final episode of my Professional Series I do an RNAV approach into KPHX

Noob question here. VOR and LOC approaches are different things? I did a VOR approach in the airbus and it didn't let me arm loc mode.
@V1Sim
@V1Sim 4 года назад
Bogdan Serban that is correct. If doing a VOR approach you will either be in FMS overlay with APPR armed OR doing a raw data VOR approach with green needles and no LOC or APP push button will be pressed. The LOC and VOR are different signal frequencies
