Welcome to V1-Simulations! I am a real world Pilot currently flying the narrow-body Airbus fleet ( A319 A320 A321 A320NEO) I just so happen to be an avid flight sim enthusiast and aviation fan. On this channel you will find a variety of videos ranging from Airbus, Boeing, GA, helicopters, and everything in between! I love to teach and I am also a Certified Flight instructor and have taught on several different air-frames. Combining my passions of aviation, teaching, and Flight Simming brought me to create this channel to share with you!

Just my thought about the logic behind mouse wheel issue , if you scroll up that means increase/on/up, so the logic would be the same across the all the switches.
Why did they do the MD-11 and not the DC-10? The EFIS is easier to model? Same thing with the MD-82 (EFIS) and 737 NG. Do we have a single pre-EFIS airliner?!
My dad flew 3290 hrs PIC in the earlier non GPS 1986 model 35A. 135LJ Eagle Aviation. He never failed to remind me that the only factors for controls of this plane was Needle, Ball, Airspeed. I replete Needle, Ball, Airspeed. Could of flew for Comair later but decided to follow the plane to KAPF and charter untill 1991. Check out the Saberliner P3D.
Concerning the use of automation. I think some european carriers take this issue of improficiency very seriously. As far as I know, some companies such as Lufthansa or Condor have their manuals actively encourage handflying and even make the use of manual thrust on approach mandatory.
I was going to comment that flight level change and IAS hold are basically the same thing as far as I know (except I don’t think on the MD-80 that the thrust levels move on their own in IAS hold and I believe Boeing moves them to idle or climb when you press FL CH).
You are correct. With FLCH, if the selected altitude is higher than the current altitude, Boeing planes will set climb thrust to achieve the selected altitude. If the selected altitude is below the current altitude, the throttles will be automatically moved to idle. One interesting feature of FLCH (as opposed to LVL CHG on the 737) is that for small altitude adjustments (like going from 5000 ft to 6000 ft), the autothrottle will automatically adjust the climb power in order to attain a comfortable proportional climb rate.
@@CH-nb9yy Neat. I'll have to try the MD-80 again sometime soon, but from memory what happens is that it leaves the thrust levers alone, so typically for a descent, for example, you'd hit IAS/MACH and close the thrust levers/can move them to adjust the rate.
Hi cap! hope ur doing well. nice stream as always. Will u still be doing an IFE reaction to MH370 .. curious to know what ur thoughts are on the matter.
For someone going for 320 Type rating after couple of months , which A320 is most accurate in terms of systems and handing ? XPlane Flight factor or Mfs Fenix. (No considerations for sim environment graphics)
