I imagine when Joel talks to Tommy about his dreams that it's most likely memories of Sarah that he relives; and in a world such as theirs even good dreams have become nightmares for Joel because when he wakes he's instantly reminded that Sarah isn't there and why, which speaks to his line " all I know is when I wake up... I've lost something." Life truly did stop for Joel about the same time his wrist watch stopped.😔

100% got me when Joel said "I'm failing in my sleep" Such a powerful scene, Joel showing worry, fear and mostly fear of losing someone again. That panic attack he had at the beginning. I didn't know what the heck was going on until Joel broke down with Tommy. Poor Joel ain't in a good place mentally and now physically. Amazing reaction thanks so much Liala💞Sad as F! But a amazing series so far 10/10.

I’ve seen people mad at Joel in the bar scene but didn’t Tess and Joel try to get that car battery to find Tommy? Starting them down the road of Ellie, fireflies, Henry/Sam, etc… the losses Joel took along the way.

I think the best summary I’ve seen was that Joel spent several weeks worrying, scrambling to get a truck and a battery, witnessed the death of Tess, trekked hundreds of miles by car and on foot, and lost Henry and Sam along the way, only to discover he’d been left on read. He has every right to be a bit miffed.

What I've really love about the show is the small details that often get missed in the story telling like Ellie's joy at finding a box of tampons or stocking up on toilet paper at Frank's house and Joel having to mend his boots with duct tape.

i think its because thats where REAL human development happens. in movies and shows, we always see character development through intense actions. defeating villains, fighting off bad guys and saving those in need. realistically, people learn, grow and develop primarily in the most mundane of situations. i dont know about you, but i didnt decide to start working out because of some life changing event. i made the decision while taking a shit. what the last of us does differently than most shows is that it gives us all of the development in between the action and then puts what they've learned to the test when the action arrives and it makes the story being told much more relatable and down to earth.

I'm just saying...It's just how I feel....I'm sure the series will continue with a huge following whatever happens..BUT.......Joel & Ellie's strengthening father-daughter bond feels like the true driving force of the TV series. If he is killed off in the TV version I won't continue watching. It just wouldn't be the same with out him. Episode 6 nearly KILLED ME!!! DAMN!

Joel's vital organs are OK. It's his stomach that's been pierced. The cold has made his body go into a state of sleep, the vital organs are keeping him alive, just the loss of blood needs to stemmed with gauge and a covering to keep him alive. There is a train carriage Elle can use to keep Joel safe and warm and then go and get help.

Lol his abdomen is pierced. Not his stomach. That wound is no where near his stomach. And guage wouldn't mend a wound like that, it 100% requires to be shut. With duct tape if necessary. Preferably sutures but staples will work if you got them. And let's be real here, ellie isn't dragging Joel anywhere. He's at least twice her weight. Even if she used the horse to drag him somewhere, she's not lifting him up into a "train carriage". She'll have to find a house where the horse can get him all the way in.

Just a suggestion, but I wonder if you have a way to position the camera (or your tv) such that as you're watching, the audience sees more of the front of your face. Doesn't have to be head on, but maybe a little more front facing.
