I AM ON THE FENCE WITH THIS ONE !

My barnyard fence is an old board fence that is in a very sad state of repair. In fact, it is junk.
In this video, I teat out the old fence and build it back new. Not to be confused with build back better. This project actually works out as it should.
I am satisfied with how it turned out and I think it looks pretty nice.
Having a farm is a labor of love.
Thanks for watching

Thanks Jan. They have both been awesome tractors. Both of them have been on this farm for well over 50 years. They are probably good for another 50 but they will have to spend that with somebody other than me. Isn’t that amazing? I am 2 years older than these tractors and they will both very likely outlast me. By quite a bit. The new tractors built today will not do that and both of these tractors have worked and earned their keep on this farm. I don’t know how many hours are on these tractors. Both have hour meters and they both work. I know the one on the loader tractor 520 has been replaced. It shows 1900 hours. The other one with the post auger on it shows around 4300 hours. Neither one uses oil and neither one has any leaks to mark its territory. Very sound tractors

Thanks Joseph. The horses weren’t a big fan of being shut out of the lower barnyard while I tore the fence out. It was out and back in on one day so I think they have gotten over it. That old auger works as good as the day it was new. I think we got that when I was in grade school. The mounts for the 520 are homemade and it can only be mounted on that particular tractor. The auger has not been off of that tractor for over two years because it is very difficult to put on. The best way I have found is to suspend it from the other loader tractor and work one side at a time into position. Thanks for watching Joseph.

Thanks Noel. That post auger has been on that tractor for over two years. It is a bearcat to put on. The best way I have found is to lift it with the other 520 loader tractor and hook it up while it is suspended in the air by the loader. It will most likely be coming off this fall when that tractor will take its place in the lineup of wood haulers

Cut, chip or burn it out... Sometimes you can get lucky and screw a big lag in and pull it out.. then replace it with a steel post and fill it up with concrete...
@tractortalkwithgary1271
@tractortalkwithgary1271 11 месяцев назад
I got it out. I was just unhappy that we did it that way in the first place. My idea was to cut an old junk 5 gallon metal pail down to leave a hole open for the post and the other guy’s didn’t want to take the time. Wasn’t as bad as I was expecting.

When we poured the cement we would put a can or a bucket around post about an 1" below cement. Worked great if you had to replace post

Nice fence! I've dealt with rotten broken wood posts in concrete, I usually use the post pounder on the skid loader.
@tractortalkwithgary1271
@tractortalkwithgary1271 11 месяцев назад
I got it out without too much trouble. I was against that idea when the concrete was poured. I wanted to take an old 5 gallon pail and cut it down and pour the concrete around it but the other 3 guys were in too big of a hurry for that. They also poured that concrete super wet which I was against that also. I’m not a concrete master by any means but I always thought the drier that you can run it, to a point, the stronger it will be.

@tractortalkwithgary1271 Now I need to watch for a pump jack at the shows. There's usually one set up with a pump to recirculate water. . We had a pressure system. , but used the pump jack as backup. Both shallow wells became contaminated, and were condemned in the 80s. The pump Jack's were common brands. Superior cast in Duluth, and David Bradley which was mail order. I haven't seen either sell lately, but the first $ 10 usually bought them at auction.

I don't usually give my location away, but we do a lot of DeKalb Illinois . I'm just north of the border loading for a Twin Cities now . Going too close to the State Fair for my comfort level. Last year they had a shooting at the Mostly peaceful Great Minnesota Get Together.
