Panera Bread! Everyone's favorite hospital food. We've got TONS of different Panera menu items: the fabled and dangerous panera lemonade, aka the Charged Lemonade, the mac and cheese, the broccoli cheddar soup, (rip the broccoli cheddar mac), the buffalo chicken melt, the chicken bacon rancher, the panera bread bowl, a panera salad, grilled cheese and tomato soup, a whole bunch of desserts like the cinnamon roll, the brownie, the kitchen sink cookie and more. And we try some Panera breakfast items like the Asiago sausage and egg sandwich and the bacon and spinach souffle!

Hey peebs, since youve been doing lots of fast food or just food videos recently, have you thought of doing a video comparing resturant food with reheatable frozen food versions of it found in grocery stores? Theirs a surprising amount of frozen variants of those, the white castle burgers are pretty good. Also, I'm pretty sure there's some mario branded frozen pizzas, that's also an idea.

I don't disagree, especially when you can easily make it for around $1-2 yourself. But I will play devils advocate and say a grilled cheese is meant to be eaten immediately, ANY grilled cheese is going to look sad after a thirty-minute drive home.

I hate when things like that happen. Like with what happened to paqui, I can't even buy their normal chips at my local stores anymore let alone do their yearly chip challenge. All because a kid with a bad heart condition was allowed to buy one and ended up dying.

The problem isn't necessarily how much caffeine is in the lemonade, it was the labeling. People don't think of lemonade as having caffeine, so when the labeling and marketing don't tell people how much caffeine is in it, they are more likely to drink way too much of it, not realizing that there even any caffeine in it much less how much they've had

Exactly, the big difference between these lemonades and an energy drink is that when people drink the latter they are knowingly putting a big amount of caffeine in their bodies. The only reason he probably even knows about the caffeine content right now is because there was a huge controversy about it in the first place.

@@NameIsWario ok, but what does that mean? How does an average consumer know that means caffeine and not just more sugar or some other energy supplement? And if they know it means caffeine, how much caffeine? A 20oz Coke has 34 MG of caffeine, while a 12oz Red Bull has about 111. So the word "Charged" tells you nothing.

Hi former Panera bread team member here, I worked there as the first lawsuit went down and before that we had signs at all the bubblers and the bubbler station that explicitly said the lemonades hold as much caffeine as a cup of dark roast coffee, so not necessarily that more of people don’t read warnings

I use to work at Panera. The mac and cheese and all the soups comes prepackaged. Each portion comes in a frozen bag that we would put in boiling water. The only bacon we had was the bacon bits that came prepackaged also. The only things that is fresh are the bangles, bread, and pastries. Every night a baker comes in and cooks everything for that day.

Peebs!! Panera girl here! Appreciate the shout out and happy to hook you up. So happy you liked your spicy baguette sandwich, those are bomb, everything is better modded too though fyi like add cucumber or tomatoes or something. But I’m here to say the “enhanced” crap they’re talking about is the amount of meat on everything went up .25 oz xD Also the asiago bagel sandwich is the best thing there in the morning, and adding chipotle aioli to it is my go to. We used to have whole wheat/grain wraps too that were bomb. Breakfast ends at 10:30 on weekdays and 11 on weekends so you can come in later than 6:30/7 xD If you’re trying to buy cheap we have something called Panera Duets which are $9.99 I believe but you can’t customize it at all, although there is a wide selection! Thanks for making the trips out, it was fun seeing you react to the food where I work!

All of the bread from Panera comes shipped in raw. Bakers only shape and dress loaves before baking. Pastries come frozen and premade and get baked every night. All the pasta comes in frozen single serve pouches that are heated in a hot water bath. The soup comes in large frozen bags that are heated in the same hot water bath. Everything comes from a bag except the fruit, that we hand cut.

I used to work at Panera-I’ll be honest, I kinda love it. I don’t think there’s a single thing on the menu I dislike-completely free full access to the menu as a worker, the folks are usually nice, and I went from a prep chef to a baker, got a pay raise, AND got to carry the whole store in my back at have FUN. It’s a FUN JOB.

While Panera is generally more expensive than most fast food places, most of those other restaurants have inflated their prices so much that there’s almost no difference. Panera meal $20, Mcd’s on average $15, BK $15, etc.

I know it's fun to hate big companies and jump on the latest bandwagon but this simply wasn't true and sometimes consumers can just make really dumb decisions. Had the lemonade a few days after it was released, long before any litigation forced their hand. Had a giant banner stating "Has as much caffeine as X number of coffees" and a smaller label stating the caffeine amount for a half and full serving. It was painfully obvious what was in it. I'm not even a massive fan of Panera, I just hate when people regurgitate information without even attempting to fact check it.

Yeah but you also have to keep in mind that peebs gets full after eating 3 potato chips and 2 bites of a sandwich. When you have self control with food it doesn't matter as much if you wat high caloric meals.

@@Toon_Lucario Hi, as someone who works for Panera, the Charged Lemonades have a LOT of sugar, and a lot of caffeine which is the equivalent of 2 cups of dark roast coffee. There's a lot more ingredients, but yeah. There are a lot of lawsuits of people going to the hospital because of them, resulting in them being discontinued as of yesterday (or over the weekend, I think?)

1:23 ~400mg of Caffeine a day is considered the "safe" limit for people who aren't sensitive to caffeine by the FDA. The people getting sick and dying were drinking 1200mg+ of caffeine which is at least 3x the amount that is considered safe by the FDA

Got to the part where you mentioned ranch and I literally paused it to say my piece. Three words: Ken's buttermilk ranch. Fast food and literally every restaurant ever led me to believe that hidden valley and similar restaurant-owned brands was all that ranch was and all it ever could be. No. Ranch can be *more.* My eyes have been opened to the posibilities of nuance, of complex flavor in the most basic of salad dressings. Instead of your typical one note tune what greets your mouth is a harmonious melody. A warm embrace meant to be as savored as the taste it brings to the table. This dressing converted someone who doesn't even LIKE ranch. As someone who casually enjoys it, I've tried normal ranch, and I've tried buttermilk. I thought it was a marketing ploy. I thought all ranch-buttermilk or not-was meant to taste the same. Not this one, my friend. Not this one.

Apparently they discontinued the broccoli cheddar Mac and cheese due to lack of sales. However I have seen it sold in the refrigerated area at the deli I work at. Not sure if it has the same taste as the one at the store, but it was still good. Also you mention the pizza, and they also have panera flat bread pizzas, also available in the deli as well. the chipotle chicken one was pretty good
