I beat Pokémon Emerald Battle Frontier's most random facility

Tama is taking on the Pokémon Emerald Battle Frontier, in her quest to earn all gold symbols, starting with the Battle Factory. Incredibly, this involves learning the one area of Pokemon expertise she has not yet conquered, Pokemon RNG manipulation. Did she manage to win with the terrible rentals? Or did she miss her frame and flop?

I beat the entire Emerald frontier a few months ago. It was unironically the hardest thing I've ever done in any video game. The Factory took me more time than every other facility combined, and I had several screaming fits and sleepless nights while trying to beat that god-forsaken place. It quite literally drove me to the brink of insanity.

Just getting all of the golden symbols in the Emerald Battle Frontier (without using hacked perfect IV Pokémon) is so difficult. It’s insane.

Even with hacked perfect IV Pokemon, and constantly checking spreadsheets on Bulbapedia, it's still insane. There are rom hacks like Emerald Final that make it much easier to raise perfect Pokemon, and the Frontier (which hasn't been changed) will still hand you your ass.

I managed to do it legit. It took me almost 10 years. Battle factory and Battle palace are the most difficult of the facilities for the golden symbol, hands down.

Even as a gen 3 enthusiast i never knew about the battle tower code glitch, always nice to learn something new in one of your videos. also kinda funny to hear your non-pitched voice, the frustration must've been setting in

Hell, the Dome is weirder. There's no that seems to make the Dome trainers have better IVs, none. Every other frontier is made stronger by a frontier, typically itself, but sometimes another one.

The Battle Facility seems really difficult with the RNG and the rental Pokémon. I commend you for beating it, Tamashii.

It's definitely not unrealistic to beat. It comes down to team-building and a bit of luck. I got gold thanks to Skarmory Toxic Rest Stalling the first Pokemon, doing some damage to the second and then cleaning his team with Gardevoir thanks in part to a lucky freeze from Ice Punch.

Tama, it is truly so awesome seeing new uploads from you. I started watching you when I was like 12 years old; 11 years later and i'm still watching. It's so inspiring having watched you throughout my life, and seeing how you've endured your own obstacles in life and grown so much as a person. Wow, congratulations! I spent 3 years off and on in Emerald back when I first beat the game, cloning Pokemon and items and trying to beat the Battle Factory, and I never did. Every once in a while though, you just get into a match like this one where everything goes perfectly.

This is super interesting to see after playing without this information. I always swapped even for a worse mon because even though it turns out I was losing IVs I found the movesets were better. Congrats on winning!

Until now I have not beat the Battle Factory, I always reach the final set of battles but often lose before I reach the Head. When I reached him he had Zapdos, Articuno, and a Machamp. The birds were easy, but I had a hard time against Machamp because I had no super effective move against it, it spammed Double Team and Substitute, then swept my team with Focus Punch ;-;

I was never this early in one of these videos and since this is the New Years I always wanted to say this to you. Despite not being THAT into Pokémon, specially now a days back in 2015 I was fascinated my how you review these games. You taught me how to be objective with something that you’re deeply passionate about. I see countless video game videos form “critiques” that act “objective” but fail to have the same level of objectivism with the game they clearly have a biased for. Because I didn't have the patience, I completed 100% of the battle frontier with save states before battles and even then it was tough, so doing this is a great accomplishment, good job Tama

I've been trying to get the gold symbol for a few weeks. I got a streak of 35 using just enemy moveset info from Bulbapedia and was too lazy to bother with learning how to do RNG manips to get good Pokemon, but maybe I'll have to learn... Congrats on finally getting the gold symbol!

Congratulations!! I love your explanation of the deep dive behind the code and strategy to get here because I literally did the exact same deep dive and rng manips to get decent mons. I also had adrenaline pumping for the fight and it went pretty well. To those watching still trying to win, you can. Rng sucks but you can overcome it in due time. God I remember in 2020 I decided to get all the Gold Symbols in the Battle Frontier. This one took me 40 hours to get the gold. Emerald’s RNG is so based sometimes. I have infinite respect for those who beat it

i can remember watching Werster try to speed run through the different facilities, and even he got haxed out of some games and had his streaks reset to zero

Battle Factory was my favourite facility because it was the only one I really stood a chance in; back then I had no idea about Natures, EVs, IVs, plus TMs were good for a single usage so making a competitively viable Pokemon was tough. Which is why it irks me that the Battle Frontier isn't returning in modern games when making a battle ready team is so much easier.

Man I remember looking up all the Pokemon moveset and writing it down to make the perfect Pokemon team when I was younger 🤣. I rly liked doing it tho and watching people like you play
