Naaaah 1000hp is too much i think, if it is rated for 750hp or 700 that is enough for a 600hp car, 1000hp rated will be larger in mass itt will be harder to move etc.
As a fellow e36 coupe owner i will be turboing my m52 too i wanna say , Don’t give up man she’ll all be worth it once it’s running great ! Keep up the good work you just got yourself a new sub , and u seem so chill even after this head up buddy
Don't be discouraged. I'm on the same boat I built my turbo kit on my E36 vert blew the motor on a third gear drop. took me about 4 years to complete it now I'm back at it again. Drove it for 2 weeks. Cant wait now to drive it. Keep at it. Im in Toronto to.
Oh man! Very unfortunate but don’t give up I just discovered your channel and I think you have one of the coolest E36 convertibles I have ever seen I really liked your videos about it and you can tell you put a lot of work and passion into them.
Mental support from Poland. Man, great car, worth to turn it back to the road. I came here, cause I'd like to turbocharge myself my 323i. People like you motivate me a lot and I learned a lot too. I must to check your other films. Have a good day/ night;)
Your videos are so nice, the narrative line is relaxing, and I was enjoying all the rebuilding process. I felt together with you, when you found out about a new rebuild is going to happen. I have subscribed to your channel in order to see the new approach to the parts that you put into that engine. Go for gold! 🤘🙂
Don't give up man. That's how it is. When you go for high hp something will always be on it's limit. 540whp is too much in my opinion for a stock and also used parts m52. Also in the last video you said you had an oil cooler when the previous engine broke. I hope you cleaned it really well or even better replaced it eith a new one
Dont give up maann!!, your car is beautiful. im also building a high compression M50B28 N/A with custom stock internals, also been through sweat and tears. and im on my v.5 engine now 🙂
I wish you luck man. I’m planning on leaving my similar-ish build at the ~380hp @13psi mark for a long long time, only because even that in this chassis is a frickin blast, and it’s been crazy reliable so far. Happy to lend an ear if ya wanna bounce some ideas around for future builds!
Tuner seems very experienced taking his Time but when understanding m52 they can go to 500hp at the wheel but anything after that is bad news so 600 crank was very close. Don’t be greedy 400 to the wheel is very fun and safe. I’m sorry that happened I just finished my turbo e36 cost me about 20k I had over 5k in mistakes a couple heads because I bent valves timing had the motor taken apart at least 8 times. When I was ready for first drive I I had to pull the head because my timing cover leaked so much dropped exhaust pulled everything off but I didn’t give up now my cars been doing good for a month hopefully stays the same. I almost blew my motor up quite a few times over losing oil in the dipstick tube so I almost didn’t notice. By the grace of god it was safe. I also fried 4 harnesses wiring things up.
Sorry about the engine, but 👍🏽 thumbs up for the content and hope you get it back on the road asap....maybe forged rods as well as forged pistons this time around. 🙂
i still remember the day i blew up the engine in my 97 gsx its been 7yrs and she still down.... 😩but ill never give up hope that ill have her back up n running again one day✊🏽
damn just saw ur engine rebuild video, this is why im scared to give my m50b25nv more boost, even tho i only run on 0.5 bar, arp studs and cometic mls 3.56mm headgasket, don't give up, once it s on the road it will give u a lot of joy
That much power on a 300000km engine stock was risky, but don't give up, just bore the cylinders to 84.5 and put some forged pistons, maybe rods to be safe, and you will make that 600 hp all day without breaking
I’m currently in the process of building my m52 in my 97 328is - if you don’t mind me asking, how much was it for the Precision turbo and the T51r mod all together? I currently have an m52 block and head, s52 crank, s52 cams, Wiseco 9:1 pistons, Eagle 9:1 H-Beam rods, ARP studs.. I’m planning on using a RSI top mount manifold.. I wanted to do a Garrett 3582r but hearing that Precision scream I believe you convinced me lol
I'm very happy with this turbo, I'd recommend it. It still has ample headroom at this power level but is quite responsive on the street. I only bought mine for $600 locally and it was $450 to have a turbo shop to the t51r machine work for me.
Happened the same to me, tried 3 times running 470-500whp but the ring lands on original Pistons cant take it… last 2 engines lasted 500km… Or go forged pistons or go a little less power 400-420whp will last a long time… mine lasted an entire year of abuse until going up to 470whp
Hi I got 96 cabriolet also daily swapped m54 b30 top speed 215 mph and it felt like it awesome I slowed down when my wipers flew off I stopped and checked the car most of the moldings were gone. LoL
@@ChoppyGunit i am not sure if he took new rings or not, but the pistons had 300k on it.. What was the compression ratio? Maybe lower the compression but i am only a youtube mechanic 😂
Boom I called it when I read the thumbnail. Ringland…I been doing this too long. It’s happened to me. I went forged pistons and never had that issue again.
