Thanks for your channel. My wife left me almost a year ago now. She had retired me from motorcycle riding (how could of that type of relationship failed? lol). Well I purchased a bike about a month or 2 after she R U N N O F T. I wouldn't say I'm happier, but I definitely love riding my motorcycle again. Your channel is very inspiring, it cheers me up, it makes me want to do silly things at high speeds (I mean at the speed limit) and most of all just stay a good person and father. I love the bible verses thrown in (now I don't even have to feel bad about not going to church on Sunday) it's church everytime you drop a video. Anyways, Thank you! I hope your videos help the other million subscribers as much as they have helped me. Keep up the good work, y'all are amazing people.

hey brother sorry your wife left you and glad you were able to get back into riding. do your best to be the best Dad you can be, but one loosely put bible verse in a video per week is no replacement for a good church. Go find your self a nice community that can help you raise those kids and be the person that God wants you to be. Gods got big plans for you my friend.

Did a lot of sub-freezing weather riding on a Harley Sportster, and a Triumph Bonneville back in the seventies. Once the hands go numb it's hard to work the clutch or throttle, especially with"three finger mitts". Today you can get heated gloves or throttle, so you might get to your destinatio, without stopping to unfreeze the hands.

With those old bikes you really feel the bumps, from taint to teeth. My uncle rode his 59 Panhead from Richland WA, to my place in Boise ID, and back. It ran like a dream but broke down the day after he got home. He got it running again, and rode it a couple more times before he passed away. His son has his bike now.

I had a wife before who hated motorcycles and that was a horrible relationship. I found that my motorcycle is good for the soul and better than therapy. Love isn’t enough anymore. You must share the same vision, morals, goals and enjoy similar activities or you might as well be single. I have a good woman now who went through a rider safety course, got her own license and has her own bike and rides with me on shorter jaunts. Win, win!

Several years ago I pulled into the local convenience store and parked next to a 1946 Indian Chief with original Indian sidecar. This thing was rusty and beat looking but completely stock and original. The owner came out while I was looking at it and he looked about as old and original as his bike. He told me it was a 46. He kicked it over a few times and cruised off down the road on it. I loved your story about your ride home. Modern bikes are great but not the adventure that something like this is.

The Indian chief was my mom's first bike back in 19 56!! My dad drove the electrics and the duraglides! When he retired from the Air Force army Air corps he brought home is WLA from the Air Force Base in California! And turned it into a barber in his flight buddies that made it back they started a motorcycle club called the LA beachcombers!!! He was into flat tracking and midget racing I was still working as an aircraft engineer!! I have lots of stories I could tell about my father my mother and my brothers perhaps I will save them for another time if the interest is out there to want to hear them peace and God bless to everybody my dad flew the p38 lightning and was quite a daredevil with the damn thing but he started out in the liberators and saw a lot of hardcore action anybody wants to hear more or would like to hear more just give me a shout back I like talking about it peace and God bless to everyone 🙏✌️🇺🇸

9:28 - These 80" bikes were very fast. Not far from where you guys are at over in DelCo. (Delaware Co.) after WW2 my grandfather and his band of idiots raced these bikes down McDade blvd. every Saturday night all year round. He told stories of wrecking 1 day old Indian Chiefs and 80" flatheads etc. Wore out quarter inch leathers. They all rode to work down on the river at the shipyards, Baldwin Locomotive. etc. worked on their machines in the shops. After midnight on Sat. nights his brother who was a Ridley cop would shut down the blvd. and they'd race these big bikes, Model A hotrods etc. He said they'd easily do over a hundred mph which was pretty fast in those daze. Those are gettin' few and far between. You should keep that one. Thx. for the videos. There's 4 ft. of snow here in N.W. Mt. but Spring is comin".

The World's Fastest Indian with the story of Burt Munro got me into motorcycling. I remember being 17 and watching it really late at night and my mind was blown by that man's knowledge and perseverance. Life is truly what you make it. Get busy living, or get busy dying! I have been on my Suzuki SV650 for the past 8 years but ready to get my Scout now that I can afford it.

I figured it was converted to 12v when I saw the head light come on nice and bright. I like that you're getting into vintage bikes... nobody would have judged you if you had just put it in the truck. Riding an old bike you've never been on in the freezing cold...that sounds rough. I bought my first vintage Triumph last year and rode it home about an hour and a half, but a 64 Triumph is practically a modern motorcycle compared to the last 2 vintage bikes you've picked up. : )

This was a really awesome and fantastic episode and I absolutely love the older bikes! They are just so fascinating (although I've never seen one up close in person or rode one - like prior to 1960) and I'm a huge fan of the older vintage motorcycles! Thanks so much for sharing this and I've ridden plenty of times in 40-degree weather so I understand how cold it can get, especially your extremities (hands, feet, etc) so you certainly deserve a HUGE kudos for putting yourself through that and making it! I'm glad you're safe and you made it! Thanks again for sharing and keep the content of old vintage bikes coming! Thanks for all you do for the motorcycle community, as others have said you have made a huge difference in peoples' lives and mine included! God Bless you guys and your families!!!

I really like the idea of the throttle being relocatable to the left grip. When on the 49cc scooter with bulky gloves for the cold it can be occasionally tricky to get off the throttle and use the front brake. Meh. Winter's almost over.

I definitely know where you're coming from on that freezing cold bike ride! It's hard not to be grinning ear to ear, feeling bitter about in the cold for that long! Richmond to Philly was a huge change up in weather as I had road tripped from Florida a few years back, sleet and freezing cold were the hardest part of it, as i went on to cut the trip up on HWY 1 above Baltimore just to take my chances of not having to pull over on the I-95 freeway to get my hands warm again. Glad to see you posting of your journeys with these old bikes! Really brings the dream of riding the classics to LIFE!

My first Indian was a 1923 Powerplus which I rode regularly, no front brake and 1000cc engine on clincher rims, thinking back on it, it was more luck than design that I survived that experience, my next Indian was a 1946 Chief that was my daily rider for many years, it was very comfortable and reliable, I had no hesitation taking it on 3 day interstate rides, the only reason I sold it was that I was hitting the service intervals monthly and so I opted for a Road king to get more miles in the saddle between garage stops.

Awesome. Love the lines of those old 40's era bikes. My grandad was a state trooper from back then, and they initially used Indians and then switched to Harleys. The thing about the throttle on the left and being able to shoot was correct, and something he had told me years ago. He stopped riding their bikes when they went to Harleys.

Here in Hungary, there was an old mechanic who installed a 1900cc turbodiesel Citroen BX engine into one of these Indians when the original engine failed beyond repair. It is in a museum right now and I went to see it many times because it is so awesome and it inspired me to build my own motorcycle similar to this, using a Neuzer chopper bicycle, and a chinese 50cc engine conversion kit, along with a Shimano Nexus Inter 8 internal gear hub. It rides like heaven, and it looks awesome :)

Dad loves that 74ci flathead, not blessed with power but they are about as simple as it gets. He took that 47 chief I commented about in your last Indian vid across country twice for work out west in the 80s and always talked about how nice it was to have spark advance when going over the mountains. He had a old Harley cafe racer that he took once before he had that Indian and had to carry a set of spare plugs because they would foul out quick at elevation

Such beautiful bikes. I spoke to an older man in Austin who's Dad owned the Indian dealership there. He said that corporate made some really bad decisions, including proprietary fasteners that alienated their customer base. At the time we spoke , he was restoring only a few Indian big bore flatheads for some customers with deep pockets. IIRC, Indian shut down around 1953-John in Texas

Cool....I had the opportunity some years back to take a 48 Chief for a ride. It was a movie prop motorcycle, a completely restored bike with left hand throttle and right hand spark advance....fun at the first stop sign....as I was used to a 54 panhead at the time, and twisted the spark advance the first time.

Courageous move to ride that expensive vintage bike on those uncertain road conditions. I've done some involuntary slipping and sliding on ice and snow in Pennsylvania-type climates, which ended OK but it's not something I choose to do anymore. Riding only when it's above 40 degrees anymore. I salute you. If I ever see you stranded on the road, count on me to assist.
