Jz is an awesome engine however ruins the handling of an rx8. I personally know a guy that put a 2jzgte in one said he would never again. The renisis engine won ward engine of the year. People make them unreliable. Each to their own though
@@domsta2008 Who cares about the handling? Just slap on a twin-turbo and turn it into a devilish rocket. At the end of the day, you only have one life, why not live it to the fullest?
My friend put a 2jz in an rx8. He couldn't get rid of it soon enough. Useless for anything but straight line. You can easily make 500 to 600whp with a 13b which is what his 2j was putting out without it being Useless I'm a corner.
Looks like an r154 trans. If your oil leak is coming from the intake side valve cover area, it's probably the cam sensors. They leak through the connector and down the block. Driftmotion sells a upgraded seal for pretty cheap. Do not over tighten the valve cover bolts. The cover will Crack easily.
R154 Transmission. Could also be an Early version W58. the Non-Tripod W58 is narrower than the Non-Tripod R154. might wanna do a test that all your coils are firing, You can remove the coil and leave it plugged in, Crank it over with the spark plug body resting on any metal surface of the cylinder head to ground so it will spark. Don't star the car during this test. so perhaps unplug fuel pump fuse to avoid fouling or sending fuel into the chambers potentially fouling it when you go to start again.
@@theamericanpress1837 Right, it's simply a lengthened, stiffened, NC miata chassis (06-14) that weighs 2,800lbs. With 300whp it's in the same league as base c6 vettes, older 911s, NA k miatas, etc. A mid 12 second car with world class handling. Quinn, the good driver from the slip angle channel says the chassis is good for 400-500whp. With people practically giving away blown rx8's, I really want a swapped one. Or maybe pick one up for $500 and drop a $3k pro rebuild rotary in and boost it to 350whp with all reliability mods and have fun for 50,000 miles or so before a rebuild. Because who doesn't love that rotary sound and 9000rpm redline?
