Over the past 16 months I've been touring houses and nothing seemed ideal until I found this home. Twenty years ago when we were looking at houses, we saw a home that we really fell in love with but the location was just wrong. It would have meant commuting for at least an hour and a half total per day. We ended up getting a house we loved in a location that was only 10 minutes from work. It wasn't worth changing our entire lifestyle for a house. Every single day I am grateful that we waited to find the house we did. Over time we've done a lot of renovation and expansion to the house truly making it into our dreamhouse. It is really smart to wait. The other thing that's really smart is to look at houses that are toward the middle or even low end of what you can afford that way you aren't going into crazy debt and can afford to work on the house.

Srsly. That has to be the cleanest basement in the history of 1920's style homes. Usually when you look under a house there are spiderwebs, dead animals from years gone by, dust, and all things spooky. You could clearly see everything and it was so clean! > > If there ever was a person to be happy for new home ownership it is Drew. He is just so humble, respectful, and appreciative. We bought 2 duplexes and joined them. I loved the 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, … -well double everything. Perfect for a debt poor family with 4 young kids. Later, we could not sell it joined -had to rework it into 2. It was our dream house - years later we had to relocate. Fond memories. 🏠 🏠

I am so excited for you! This reminded me of the day I found out that I was approved for my house purchase. It also took me about a year of searching so I definitely felt your pain of finding one then losing it to someone else starting again etc. I also never thought that I would become a homeowner at my age (67). But my circumstances demanded that I start over. I guess it goes to show you that it is never too late. Love your videos and ideas can't wait to see what you come up with for your new house. Piece of advice: Don't start tearing out the already updated kitchen and bathroom until AFTER everything else is done. You will have many unexpected jobs come up, as well as "while we're doing this we might as well go ahead and's". Refinish the floors LAST. Good luck!
