I bought ANOTHER MAZDA CAPELLA, this one has a ROOF!! What are my plans?....

I bought another Mazda Capella this week, but a different story for this one as it is going to give its life to save another! I seen this one on market place quite a while ago but I decided to grab it to help me fix my Grandpas old Capella.
So what's my plans? Well, cut a roof off of one car and weld it on another.... Might add a roll cage, a V8 and some other spicy bits... have a watch for all the info.

A friends brother had a white Capella. Can't remember exactly which rotary it had in it, but it was built to old Group A specs. We were travelling along the Tamworth- Nundle road in NSW at Mach 3, hit a bump in the road and it was like the hand of God literally picked the whole car up, placed it on the other side of the road, we must have landed 10m further down the road. It was a tough lil car, but it would randomly get sketchy at times for no reason (cursed?!)

Brings back some memories. My grandfather also had a Capella. Bought it almost new, and traded a Hillman Minx for it. The Capella was red, and had the rectangular headlights.

Those Mazdas are bullet proof. Had one as an undercover car in the early 90's. Couldnt kill it.

after watching, i love the combo idea for the Capella. but the parts availability aint what they use to be. i know theres some cringe but wt bout n/a barra, i hear they 200kw with tune. only saying purely for content sake. i know the barra youtube world is big an parts get thrown at ppl. wld also upset the rotor purists for controversy etc lol. even me a lil hahah. feelin mad mikes new wagon vibes from this build, dig the budget but gd quality finish thing regardless keen to see how it goes

Haha. I’ve had my eye on this one for a while to be honest. These engine bays are very small, but also short bonnet to ground clearance and barras are very very tall motors so would be too much of a hassle to make it work. But one day I’ll be barra swapping something… I have one in the shed 👌

Taking some inspiration from your fellow SA guy Jay!? Plans sound good, that's great these have a strut/4-link rear - I assumed they were leaf sprung. AR5 from a Colorado or Rodeo could be another gearbox to consider on the cheap. There are a heap of guys using them in the states and a few places sell conversion parts.

Haha, I swear it’s just a coincidence 😂 AR5s are unfortunately quite hard to find, they are a gearbox that’s on my radar but don’t come up very often. Not for a decent price at least.

I think a w40 will be fine I had a corona 4 speed in my vlt drift car with 200kw @ the wheels. Only broke 3rd twice driving badly.

I hope there's going to be some hard core BRAPPING ? I would kill to get my first car back, a factory red 12A rx3 sedan with extend port single dizzy 12 A. Mates dad bought it from me in 1988 Redwood park and swore he would NEVER sell it after restoring it back to stock.
