13:25 wow. really.. great tip, that would be a shit pitfall to get into ha.. u seemed suprised the build is coming along pretty quality, i could see u down the rabbit hole i just didnt know how deep. keep up the gd work bro, shes comin along nicely ✌
Bloody awesome man! Brings back memories of an RB 30 build I did years ago ha ha (Before RU-vid was a thing) I have a few VL 6 parts still I reckon, I'll have a sus & happy to give them to you if only for spares, pretty sure I have an ECU for an Auto though. Are you going to Mallala this weekend? I reckon painting the Holden Logo on the rocker cover Red would look cool. Tribute to our Infamous Red Backs ha ha. Cheers
Hey man, I was just wondering if you used a sealer around the coolant outlet on the head to intake manifold? Or just put the gasket on dry? Cheers enjoying this build 🔥
Great vid! Google says: First stage - 29Nm Second stage - 78Nm Third stage - Loosen completely Fourth stage - 29Nm Fifth stage - 88Nm or 100 - 105 deg using an angle wrench
The build sheet says April 89 sales date. Wonder if thats when it was built. I ask as it has a rear parcel shelf stop light. I believe they didnt come in till July or so of 1989. There was an ADR rule that came into effect that mandated them. I have a March 89 Exec and it doesnt have the parcel shelf stop light.
Wow nice work mate. That peddle box came up awesome. Might get you to make a hydraulic set up for my manual vn, I hate how heavy the cable set up is. 👍
Sorry I’m at work this weekend so it may not work out to grab it, But it’s yours if you want it. Email me your phone number jarradklingberg@gmail.com and I’ll send you a message to tee something up 👌
everyone raves about the S3 VS Getrag pedal box assembly's cos they're rare but in actual fact if you look at the non slave pedal box u can see that trusty ol GMH has jus tack welded a plate over the clutch slave cylinder location lol.. so in theory you should be able to use the vs getrag slave for RB G box..?? - driftsquid has a good rb budget build vid, highly recommend. its best option with the age of 30s now, especially of intending to cram boost down its throat 🤙
Mate check u jave not left one of the earths off laying under the battery was a very common thing to do as they had 4 separate earth wires going to the battery when i work for the NRMA on these
Mate serviced my time on these back in the day it will just be badly clogged injectors and they will come right after 500km send it .oh and that starter issue was standed with them its a worn ring gear u need to turn the motor a bit by hand when they wont grab lol that module is called a thickthimle and if it runs its good to go . Was very surprised to see it idle they had major issues with not idling after flat/dead batteries.
