Definitely needs a heat shield or some header wrap to help keep excess heat from the coolant overflow tank. I know mine gets very warm even with both a heat shield and wrap.

Yes!! My computer would NOT upload this for some reason so after trying for a week I FINALLY got it! Be careful with those second gens! They need a lot of maintenance so make sure that you're ready to do the work or you have the money to! But in all honestly the r56 is my favorite! Best of luck! (: and welcome to the fam!
@@JulietteHallie Thanks! i do own an R50 right now, in the rare gold metallic, and i really love it but i want a newer gen, where i plan to do more body work! The R50 just doesn't have too many upgrades since it is so old.
Right now it's a daily driver! I think as soon as I get to a spot im happy with, with my F56, I want to clean up my red R53 and make it more aimed towards show. 🙈 you'll probably see some parts come from from this car on it actually!
Looks like a lot of dried coolant on the expansion tank. Otherwise a nice pre-facelift DS R53 with aero kit. Strange mix of painted and textured arches though. Are you going to match them all? What about the missing vinyl trims on the rear bumper?
Yeah it had an over heating issue! I think they previously painted them and then they chipped so they removed it on some parts. I like the painted look but I'm not sure if it's worth paying to get them painted when they're just gonna crack!
@@JulietteHallie I know what you mean - I quite like painted black trim and I've considered it on my dark silver R53 but I just know it won't last. I actually quite like the rear aero bumper without the silver vinyl sections.
@@JulietteHallie I have the XL navigation package so it's in the infotainment (in Vehicle Status). But if the oil level gets low it should let you know.
Oh mine is just basic. It's very "stripped" with not many features(It's light weight though) It hasn't given me any warnings tho. Might want to get that checked out. As far as I know the F56 shouldn't burn oil.
@@JulietteHallie Ahh! My local dealership swears that it's normal to burn a quart every 1,000 miles so they keep telling me they can't do anything about it. I was just seeing if someone else had the same issue. But if it was normal, why change the oil? Just the oil filter, right!!!! Haha. Thanks though!
