Buying clothes and products from influencers ads on instagram and youtube for a brutally honest review! Buying from instagram ads and trying products popular youtubers swear by has been fun in past videos, but what about influencer sponsorships and brand deals?? Today I bought everything influencers advertised on my feed like Adelaine Morin and the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume, Mary's Cup of Tea and the Good American jeans, and Niki and Gabi with the Revlon Wonder Woman makeup!

I was chubby as a teen then lost weight was thin in my twenties then had children and my last baby lily made me chubby again and I’m having a REALLY hard time getting the weight off now ;(

You might like daisy love by Marc Jacobs better. I like clean scents too and don’t mind the original “daisy”, but I also thought it had a bit of a grandma smell to it. It settles out to be fairly good, BUT you need to try daisy love. It’s a favorite

It's crazy to me that Princess Polly is so big now. I used to work for them when there was just one teeny tiny shop in Brisbane Australia with 4 of us working there. We would name the clothes and hand write the tags. We had a website with pictures of us wearing the clothes and customers could call us to buy over the phone if they liked someone on the website. They've come so far. Their initial owner was a really wonderful woman.

Omg I am so surprised/honored to be included! ❤️ But bummed about Princess Polly's sizing as well. :( For a time they were using a decent amount of mid-size models on the site which I loved & felt represented by at the time (sadly they don't do that much anymore), but I hadn't considered the limited size range. Such a bummer because I do love their stuff! Love this vid as always Sierra!

Their stuff is cute but they are NOT sustainable. They don’t even give information about their sustainability which is even more concerning. People that care about the environment and other important issues should not support Princess Polly.

@@nicolekammwettle That hasn't been my experience with them at all. They are also the perfect highrise jeans if you're a little self conscious of your tummy. It really smooths things out. Definitely check out Nordstrom Rack because they do have them there quite a bit. They also go on a flash sale on Haute Look sometimes. And I'd also check out Poshmark. People sell them on there all the time. I've even sold a pair on there that didn't fit me anymore.

Hairdresser tip: apply dry shampoo on your day 1 clean dry hair instead of on already oily hair. Doing this the dry shampoo will be able to absorb the oil as it comes out

SAAAME! As others have said, I don't like being told what to do. And for some reason, my brain instinctively thinks "wow, must not be that good if they had to pay influencers to talk about it." And then I distrust every good thing I hear about it because I just assume that person was either paid or is trying to justify the purchase to themselves. I don't like that I think of it that way because I fully support influencers making money, especially if they act with integrity and vet the brand first. (Unless they do ads from fit tea or any other laxative tea that is marketed as a quick weight loss trick. I will unfollow so fast for that. I can't support someone who promotes disorder things like that)

Mandy just a heads up The reason why they’re paying an influencer to talk about it is not because the product isn’t good it’s just because that’s their advertising strategy nowadays paying to do a commercial and do a photographs and all that is so much more expensive than just paying an influencer to advertise it so it cuts their work in half that’s why they pay them not because the product isn’t good but just a heads up

L S I know! It’s a mutually beneficial contract. But my first instinct is to be like “must be bad.” I think part of it is the “talking points” a lot of them give the influencers feels less genuine to me. And there’s times like the Revlon where the product is subpar; my brain just latches on and is like “see, proof that sponsored products are bad.” That’s why I love videos like this where someone isn’t sponsored buys the sponsored products. You can get honest look at the product and settles the “avoid promoted brands like the plague” side of my brain.

I keep meaning to buy a bottle of the daisy perfume, my grandmother got it for my mom one year for Christmas I think, mooostly because of the bottle (my mom's favorite flowers were daisies) lol My mom passed away when I was thirteen so it always reminds me of her, I'm happy to see the company still has enough love for it to spend money advertising. And I'm glad Sierra appreciates the packaging!

The instructions should have specified that you put it over a black liner, or their black liner or whatever.. She thought the holographic pen WAS the liner, and that you use it with the powder from the pallet.

Hi Sierra! I noticed you said you hadn't found a good dry shampoo for curly hair. I would recommend trying out a powder formula instead of a spray! With the “eyeliner” you’re supposed to put on black eyeliner and then put the stick over it because the sparkles/shimmer will stick to the black liner! :-)

Sophie Lorber because it creates a visible line, and it looks cheap. It looks incomplete (imo). It’s a thin piece of fabric anyway, you probably wouldn’t notice a difference in temperature.

Marc Jacob's Daisy has been out for years with the same bottle design. It launched in 2007! I'm a bit surprised that you've not seen it department stores before and that it's using influencers on insta to market it. It's a pretty smell. I used to wear it years and years ago. Also.... Have you tried Lush's "No Drought" dry shampoo? I know it leaves a little bit of whiteness on your hair, but if you put it on your hand before your hair, it's less powdery looking and it's VERY good at controlling oil. Plus, since it's not an aerosol, it's better for the environment! P.s. - I checked out the ingredients list and it's Curly Girl approved!!

A few ways to combat impulsive spending or buying based on influence: - If you really feel an impulse to buy something, set up a few parameters such as, giving yourself a week then if you find yourself still wanting it, then get it. If it isn’t available take that as a hint from the universe you didn’t need it. - Break down the pros/cons of buying something and be completely honest with yourself. - Reframe the way you talk about the product, “I can have this item but I don’t want it” this way you are flipping the way you think about it. It is the same with changing your diet - instead of saying, “I want the chocolate cake but cannot have it” you are saying, “I can have the chocolate cake but I don’t want it”. That way you feel less restricted and it is rather a choice you made to not have it. - Be comfortable with living vicariously through others without having to participate in the spending of that item.

I think alteration makes the dress fit exactly to your measurements, including length so maybe that's why, but I don't know the cost of alterations in America, is it expensive ?

I did one semester of a Food Science major (before dropping out to go to pastry school), but one of the things I do remember is that it is a scientific fact that your food/snack tastes change with age. I don't remember it exactly, and these are broad generalizations, and everyone has a favorite snack that is tied to a favorable time in their life, but this is the same information that companies use for their marketing. Age 0-6 is sweet (breastmilk, bubblegum flavored ice cream), 7-13 sour (warheads, sour patch kids), 14-30 salty (chips and fried food), 30-60 bitter (you start liking bitter greens, and some of the more intense spirits like amaro and bourbon), and when you're old, it goes back to sweet (that's why grandmas bake cookies at the drop of a hat. or at least mine did)

The Wonder Woman Revlon collection was discontinued due to the constant release date change of Wonder Woman 1984. The studio will either save the remaining make up for closer to the release date, or if it keeps changing, throw it all away and scrap the whole ad campaign. Hi Sierra, I really love how positive you are and how loving you seem to be. I also have PCOS and truly understand what it is like to feel like you have no control over your own body, being dealing with it ever since I turned 15. About a year ago, I was at my biggest ever and my doctor told me "I don't think you will be able to have kids unless you do something to stop the weight gain and hopefully lose it, and that is super hard with PCOS" and I was like "no kidding -_-". I went into being super depressed about it, because eventually becoming a mom is my ultimate dream. I am now proving them wrong, have lost a lot of weight and my PCOS is under control AT LAST. I've done it the normal way, working out and taking care of what I put in my mouth. Nothing extreme but something sustainable. 5 months in now. Thanks for how body positive you are, I hope my story helps someone else.

I also have PCOS, and it has been so inspiring to me seeing Sierra be this open and honest about it. Congrats on on getting yours under control!!! That is not an easy thing to do! You should be really proud of yourself. That is such an awesome accomplishment! My lifelong dream is also to become a mom, and the PCOS makes it sooooo much harder. On the flip side of that, I can’t really afford to have kids right now either. So it keeps me from having kids that I can’t afford anyway? I keep getting roadblocks thrown in my way. Being poor is probably the worst one, as it makes so much harder to take care of myself the way I really need to. But I keep fighting, even in the midst of failing constantly.

I’ve sold and am selling makeup on eBay before (: As long as it’s unopened, and marked as brand new, you should be totally fine. I think it’s a pretty common thing honestly.. eBay has a stigma to be very sketchy, but over the last year I’ve personally been selling some clothes and it’s been really great for me! Cheaper fees than a poshmark and Mercari. 10/10 recommend!

I also get bummed out when stores don't have inclusive sizes, but on the other side of the spectrum. Lots of stores don't carry smaller sizes (i.e. 00, XS, XXS) or petite sizing. It really frustrates me when I hear about an inclusive brand that starts at a small or a 2.
