I found one for 300 bucks. Comes with the locker. Currently off the road cause I need to repair a lot of damaged areas from rust. Rocker panels are Gone. Rear quarter panel is gone. Frame had a hole by the shock mount, which is the scariest part but is very fixable cause it’s not anywhere pressure is applied to it, so I a nice patch will make it solid again. Love it. I bomb around my back alley in it for kicks. Too many projects currently so it’s kinda on hold.
I have the same truck with the 5 speed manual in the sadfire red original color my dad bought it brand new back in 02, turns out you needed to pre order the truck with the Manual that’s they are so rare it only has 162k miles in it, we’ve gotten many offers to sell it but we always turn them down best truck out there, been in our driveway for Almost 20 years now
This is honestly one of the first 3rd gen 4runners with a manual transmission I have ever seen other than my 2000 manual SR5 4Runner. I hope you enjoy it man it is a blast to drive
My unicorn dream 4Runner is a 2002 SR5 sport with the hood scoop and a 5 speed in stellar blue metallic. I would then go on to make it a “limited” by swapping interior bits and pieces.
Bob Johnson Dreams crushed. Lol. I would make one happen then. Either buy a manual and do body mods or get a sport and trans swap it. I’m surprised they would not offer the manual with the one called the “sport” model. Anyway looking forward to seeing the new build.
That’s a beauty. Congratulations. I, myself, have a 2002 4Runner which is an automatic and I love it and plan to drive it forever. I also had a 4x4 Toyota pickup for 20+ years which was a 5 speed. And I loved that, too. But, I do prefer the automatic over manual for all kinds of driving. You said the automatic transmission sucked, but didn’t say why you thought that. I am curious.
I total my 5speed ;( 3 inch toytec lift badass toyo tires all gone in 1 accident ;( i have one now I am restoring its a 2001 with a locker automatic so there is that ;P but still a rusty battle here in the north east.
