This! My bf would get a Costco hotdog a soda and an ice cream for lunch every day when he worked near one because we were broke and it was a lot of food for cheap
That's exactly what I was thinking! I used to get 2 chicken littles on my lunch break (Back when they were like $1.29 10 years ago) when I was struggling. They kept me full and provided decent protein/fat content. Those employees are awesome.
9:15 Awww🥺 KFC was trying to help a poor person eat!! The extra food wasn't to get a positive review, they were doing it because you asked for "the cheapest item" and they thought you were in real need😭💕
My go-to value meal is the Classic Combo at Taco Bell. It’s usually fairly hidden on their menu but it’s $5 and you get a lot of food. It comes with a Beefy 5 layer burrito, a taco, cinnamon twists or you can swap for chips and cheese, and a large drink.
@@TheInfamousLegend27 They're only in supermarkets during the summer I believe and even then its hard to come by. I guess you could stock up on a bunch until the next summer but that would be a bit overkill lol. Also they might be speaking about the baja blast freeze which you can only get at taco bell.
Here's some Dairy Queen lore nobody asked for: So there's a story behind why Dairy Queen flips their Blizzards. Samuel Temperato, the DQ franchise owner who came up with the idea for Blizzards, was inspired by the frozen treats sold by Ted Drewes, a St. Louis shop owner who termed them “concrete”. In 1959, Steve Gamber, then 14, would stop by Drewes’ Chippewa Street location for a sandwich and chocolate malt, asking Drewes to make it thicker and thicker each time. Drewes had enough and one day flipped the malt upside down to show its thickness, assuring his young customer that if it fell out, it was free. Temperato picked this up for Dairy Queen!
The Rodeo Burger is absolutely an underrated gem! One of my favorite things to get from anywhere, I don't know if you can still do it but you used to be able to sub a chicken patty for the beef patty too if you wanted. I endlessly wish the BK close to me was still open.
A video comparing Fast Food Value Combo meals would be great!! The Popeyes combo featured in this video, Wendy’s 4 for $4, Taco Bell’s $5 box, etc! Also comparing kids meals could be really fun?
Arby's was founded in Boardman, Ohio, on July 23, 1964, by brothers Forrest and Leroy Raffel, owners of a restaurant equipment business who thought there was a market opportunity for a fast-food franchise based on a dish other than hamburgers. Originally, they wanted to name it Big Tex, but opted for Arby's based on the initials of the Raffel Brothers, RB. They initially served only roast beef sandwiches, chips, and soft drinks, but of course this would change once Arby's started to grow (starting with fifty a year in the 70s). Arby's now has more than three thousand restaurants and can be found from Canada to South Korea and even Turkey! The world's largest one is located in Colonial Heights, Virginia, resembling a roadside rest stop.
@@nederlandsgaminghub9445 $3.59 for one at my nearest McDonald's in California, but you can also get them as part of a 2 for $3.99 mix-and-match deal, which isn't too bad.
Back in the early 90s, Taco Bell had a 59 cent, 79 cent, 99 cent value menu. Used to love the 79 cent tostadas! Keep up the awesome videos, just recently found your channel and subscribed.
My favorite budget McDonalds item is actually the Daily Double, which isn't on the menu but can be ordered via the kiosk or drive-thru. It's basically a McDouble but with lettuce, sliced onions, tomato, and mayo (instead of the diced onions, pickles, ketchup, and mustard). Banger sandwich. Might be a cool idea to explore the best "hidden" options like that, stuff that can actually be rung up but isn't listed on the menu.
Arby's is so weird. The ones here in my town are almost always devoid of customers, but yet they've been open for years and years. I do go to one every once in a while because it's right by the Lowe's that I spend way too much money at. Their sliders are actually pretty solid, but whoever decided to get rid of the potato cakes needs to be drawn and quartered.
Hey, die hard Arby's fan here with my 2 cents: I know they always advertise their beef & cheddar or just the beef burgers they serve in general... BUT the best things on their menu to me are the standard sandwiches (like the Montreals, I LOVE the Roast Turkey & Swiss) that w curly fries and a shake or drink is always the best combo. But they don't advertise them ever so no one really knows about them, they don't even list them as part of the menu on their American site but do include them on the Canada site. I feel like I'm eating an actual sandwich and not fast food. This doesn't relate to the video whatsoever, obviously the sammies are still not the cheapest option, but if anyone is ever wondering why Arby's is still in business I just wanted to give that recommendation (don't forget the curly fries)
Best cheap deal is the Wendy's Hamburger with added vegetables through the app. You can get mayo added as well. It's 1.39 but you can't order it when it's busy around here.
A typical definition of a fast food place is where you the customer can order food and drink over the counter and receive said food instantly. This is why Starbucks is #2 on the list. Yes, Dunkin is on the list too. Other notable top 10 in the US include Subway, Panera Bread, Domino's, and Chik Filla. My personal favorite? Cook Out! They are mostly on the East Coast so they're not big yet, but they're quite tasty.
@@glndreamer Cook Out's menu consists of what you would normally expect to find on a back yard grill. This can include burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, and bbq. It tastes just like it came straight off a back yard grill too which is why I like it so much. It is also a pretty good value too. Most importantly, while they are not open 24 hours, they come pretty close, staying open till 4am on the weekends.
@@Firevine hah! Maybe in your neck of the woods, but some of the ones around here are near Vanderbilt University and MTSU and have on duty security guards during the wee hours. Can you imagine a fast food place jam packed with primadonnas at 2am?
@@nashvillan4lif Here in Georgia, Cook Outs are almost _solely_ located in bad parts of town. It's so wild. Every time I see that sign, I know I'm in the hood, but Cook Out is worth the risk.
Comfort foods became really big in my life and at times it would be my main meals for weeks at a time. So I have a lot of experience with being cheap at fast food places. McDonald’s, McDouble small fry is 3 bucks. KFC famous bowl is 5 bucks. Taco Bell has a HUGE value menu that’s super good. Wendy’s 4 for 4 too. These are the cheapest but best filling meals from fast food places in my opinion 😊
In Canada, McDonald's has a sandwich called the Junior Chicken that is exactly the same as the American McChicken, and I gotta say that is my go-to budget lunch while running errands
Coming from a present tacobell employee I definitely enjoy the cheesey bean and rice burritos they are fantasticly tasty one of my go to for sure besides the beefy 5-layer add potatoes and 3 cheese blend.
I’ll be honest, you can get a classic Chick-fil-A sandwich for like $4. It’s the gold standard for me. No fries, no drink. Just get me a chick fil a sandwich and some sauce and I’m a happy camper. Quality is unparalleled.
BK was my go to when I was in school. you can get a burger and a drink for cheap then come back after the survey and get a free whopper with a small purchase. very cost effective.
I’m from Singapore, and this morning I ordered a normal coffee with milk from McDonald’s for 3 dollars because I just needed a quick caffeine fix. I felt like a fool. Should have just topped up another 2 dollars for the 5 dollars breakfast meal 🫠
I agree, fast food in my opinion should be things you can get for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Not somewhere you just get coffee or ice cream. Because fast food was produced mostly for people who were travelling for long hours and days. Whether that be a road trip, vacation, work, or truck driving.
Around 1990 when I was in college you could get a whole meal for $3 at BK- some kind of burger, fries drink and maybe even a cookie or some desert item- what a deal lol. Good that they are still the best value! Great video!!❤
I am not sure if this is true at every taco bell, but they will give you a large fountain water for 10 cents at the one near me. My go to order is two Cheese Bean and Rice burritos, and a large fountain water. With tax it comes out to about 2.50.
Idk about your guys wendys, but my wendys had an offer called 444, 4 for 4. You get a small burger or chicken sandwich, fries, a drink, and 4 pc nuggets for like 4 dollars and change. honestly one of the best ever fast food deals. Only beaten by burger kings 5 for 4. Everything wendys gave out except + a cookie
Yes!!! Agreed. I need to do another video on combo meals - for this one I tried to just to the cheapest single item which caused me to miss out on deals like the 4 for 4. I hadn't heard of the BK 5 for 4, but that sounds amazing!
@@kyletidmore853 I'll have to go back for redemption. If you're ever in Massachusetts you should get a North Shore beef and let me know what you think www.bostonmagazine.com/restaurants/2021/12/14/roast-beef-sandwiches/
My BK order is always 2 Rodeo Burgers and a value coke. BK definitely isn't the gold standard for fast food for me, but if you catch a Rodeo Burger right after they dropped fresh O-Rings? Sweet, smokey BBQ sauce, crispy onion rings, and a charred patty on a sesame bun... absolute heaven
i'm so pumped that burger king is getting recognition, for some reason BK gets so much hate but it's my go to if i ever want some junk. i still think the whopper is the best fast food burger out of the big 3.
This video is like the exact opposite of "I went to Fast Food Place and ordered EVERYTHING ON THE MENU!". It's the most un-intrusive way to make content out of fast food I've seen. I'm not surprised Taco Bell crushed it, being the icon of late night cheap munchies, but I was pleasantly surprised Burger King did so well. Burger King is a nostalgic favorite of mine so it does kind of warm my heart to see them do well, even if they are a faceless corporation that is not my friend in any way.
Burger king used to have rodeo chicken and rodeo burger for $1. I used to get 1 of each and a water for lunch. Then they took it off the menu but you could secretly order it. Now they brought it back for a bit more. Solid bang for your buck.
Cool! Also , extra credits for showing us a shot of that guy from that show , BEFORE he went all HOBO lookin... man , you can almost SEE the funk fallin off him these days :D
Haven't done Hardee's since 2015, when I on vacation somewhere in the Mid-Atlantic region. My home state of Connecticut is one of the few that does not have a Hardee's nor Carl Jr.'s. If I recall, the food was decent and it was actually brought out to me. Fast food restaurant of choice is usually BK and they have a decent value menu.
Actually, the best deal at Wendy's would be to go on a Friday and get a free large order of fries when using the app. Also, you could have customized it and added lettuce, tomato and other items with no extra charge.
The proper definition is that the food is ready and waiting under a heatlamp BEFORE you order it. Most restaurants now do final assembly while you wait, be it in the lobby, or creeping up the drivethru line.
