I’m finally purchasing something I’ve been planning for the last 5 years. The toughest machine in the world, a Komatsu D355A Bulldozer. We head to Montana to awake it from the cold for a special trip to a city in Colorado… EP1

"There's a new radiator" I LOVE that you're putting a lot of thought into cooling systems. Also get your hands on building construction diagrams and check for basements.
Yeah it's Montana! Lol.... If the are born and raised vs wearing a $200 jacket and holding a $10 latte in one hand, and a miniature dog under the other arm, and talking like they grew up in Silicon Valley......
You say about something that is diabolical and then you say you love it!? Are you retarded!? To easy to use some words to make a bad influence and to make such a statement - you love diabolical thinks!? This is not normal, cool or whatewer you want. Is just a bad think to say. The sad think is you get so many likes and atention. This video has noting diabolical in it - only in your mind. The whistlindiesel boy is just a kid who play’s with biger toys and he wreck/destroy them because he has to many and he can’t apreciate them. If he wasn’t spoiled by his family maibe he cares more about thinks that some people earn with hard work. I like that he don’t care about the material thinks, but he will do the same with his last money!?
When I was a kid in Montana, I can remember helping my Grandad build a fire under the skidplate on his D9 because we had a crazy snow storm. The little town they lived in had gravel roads & the Highway plows did not come through the town & the county road grader would not handle the 4 1/2 ft of snow we got overnight. Took almost 2 hours, but the fire in a 1/4 barrel we build & pushed under the skid plate heated things enough the pony motor finally got the main engine started. Most fun I ever had sitting up there with Grandpa watching hime shove that much snow off the streets of Ryegate.
i just checked the specs out, they weigh a similar amount, the chieftain has almost double the HP, but i bet the dozer gets its power to the ground better.
The history behind that whole situation, the Killdozer, and the town of Granby is fascinating. It's wild to think about the power of determination and the lengths someone can go to when pushed too far.
"too far" aka connecting his nasty shop to city sewage and not dumping it wherever. Dude literally killed himself over poop and insurance paid out everyone.
Marv’s dozer was dismantled and sent to different recyclers to prevent people collecting parts for souvenirs. Cody now owns the exact model dozer. Rest in peace Marvin Heemeyer
Did you know that Marv's bulldozer wasn't the first killdozer ever? In fact, the original "killdozer" was a 1970's Caterpillar D9G bulldozer that starred in the fitting 1974 movie called Killdozer! in which radiation from a mysterious alien meteorite contaminated the blade of the bulldozer and turned the machine murderously psychotic. Yes, the original Killdozer was from a 1970's movie and not Marv's rampage.
I remember hearing in a lecture, up north in alaska, the float pilots would end up starting fires underneath their engines just to get them started. So what he's doing is a tried and tested method.
Float planes? That land on water? They built fires under them? Interesting 😉 ive learnt so much from the internets. Lol i had to be a smartazz love ya bro!!
That was such an intense video! The story behind the Killdozer and the impact it had on the town of Granby is truly captivating. It's a reminder of the lengths people can go to when they feel pushed to the brink.
I really enjoyed this video for many reasons. The hilarious references, the bonding of the team, the ABSOLUTE UNIT itself... And the fact I dont think there is anyone else meant for this machine more.
Thanks Cody! it was an interesting roadmap of a person who was dissatisfied with something and prepared a komatsu d355 for this. I was young and saw this report on TV. Thank you for letting me in on these details. With love from a Russian dude. I know that you will find a use for this monster))
John there is well known in this corner of Montana. He may come across fine briefly on camera, but he's notorious among local individuals, businesses, and law enforcement. He's the kind of guy who cuts corners whenever possible, weasels out of stuff, ignores laws whenever he thinks he can get away with it, and has had his business interests repeatedly bailed out by his father because he's terrible at business. Terrible to work with. He's got such a bad reputation up here that in any conflict he's in, it's a safe bet he's in the wrong.
The very first guy who got his house demolished by the "Killdozer" in 2004 was named Cody. He also was the first to fire shots at it to stop it. Irony.... 😂
i know nothing about tractors or engines in general and have no idea how i even got here - but this was an awesome journey of yours to watch. thank you for sharing.
I love seeing the old timers out there with you. Reminds me of when me and my grandpa used to work on machines. So many great memories with him and his friends
😂 I live in granby, when y’all came through every one got all ass hurt. This is absolutely hilarious. My exhaust on my Suburban was actually installed by Marvin, he was friends with a few people in my family
@@THEBACONATOR20an industrial plant blocked his shop's driveway. He tried to reason with them, even bought equipment to make a road around the industrial plant, to which the local government and the industrial plant said no. He proceeded to add a steel plated with concrete filling shell to this bulldozer and destroy the town and the industrial plant. At a certain point the bulldozer overheated and he shot himself. Damage estimated at 7 mil $.
Im a 70 year old lady and i follow your crazy shenanigans and love them all! But you scare😢 the hell out of me! Always worried that youz will get hurt or worse! Take care, kid ❤and remember... Play Safe 😮😂❤
He did ship it through there. Not sure if he did anything though. This was a little over a week ago. He’s probably back home or with Heavy D and Cleetus at HD’s cabin.
Komatsu D355A, an armored bulldozer used in a rampage in Granby, Colorado in 2004. Over about eighteen months, Marvin Heemeyer secretly armored the dozer with layers of steel and concrete. On Friday, June 4, 2004, Heemeyer used the dozer to demolish the Granby town hall, the house of a former mayor, and several other buildings. He deleted himself after the bulldozer got stuck in a hardware store he was destroying.
@@UncleTriangle I could be wrong but I think I remember seeing that the specific bulldozer was destroyed because it was a crime scene and to prevent people from idolizing it
As a community, we should take our bulldozers to the first annual bulldozer fest to "the rest stop" in colorado. I believe that they would love a bunch of bulldozers cruising along their streets. Maybe, we should visit the municipal building and news station to let them know what we're up to.
Cody didn't bring that fire extinguisher, his guys did. They are like "you know we need to get some fire extinguishers" then Cody probably gives them crap for the "unnecessary purchases" on the P card. 😂
@@MrFieleke69 read what I wrote again; “…even without historical implications.” I’m aware of kill dozer, but even without that incident this machine feels alive.
Everyone thinks it's fun and games till the ATF mails you some weed and busts you for it, then confiscates all your guns and puts you in prison... (FPSRussia)
@@ripn929707 Guarantee you Cody has measures in place for shit like that. Wall to wall cameras everywhere, his actual weed stash is probably miles away.
he has gotten paid by the psychological operations section of the department of defense for making videos with other operatives like lujan, the only fed list he is on is the payroll list
I was a crane operator in Montana/Alaska. I would cover the chassis with a concrete blanket and build a fire underneath when it went -15F or colder to keep that hydro toasty.
The ambiance in this video is amazing, muted color tones, ominous music but still with a tone of something more devious to come, focused shots highlighting the feel of the beast itself. Excellent production man!
as a logger from northern minnesota nothing made me as proud as cody starting that fire under the belly pan. been there done that! absolutely mint boys! 👌👌 send it!
I was a project manager for a bunch of solar in Minnesota. We had a few dirt work companies because multiple sites were going simultaneously. I remember one of the investors from Greece came to a site on a -29F degree morning. Well a dozer and an excavator was frozen to the ground. The civil guys threw a bunch of wood under them and lit it on fire. Well the safety man lost his every loving mind. The dirt crew didn’t care because they were leaving anyways. Can’t kick someone off the job that’s leaving. 😂 the guy from Greece thought the guys were rioting and burning the equipment down.
Having to only ever start a lighting diesel generator in -10F, I've theorized of the air duct method. Watching this, now I can see how true blue collars work. Thank you for being you Cody. Also, please hire that old man or help him get a yt started?
@@RadDadisRadthe fact that there are idiots from greece iNvEsTinG in "solar" in my country makes me angry enough to buy a d355 , and maybe take it to the rio grande
My son was so stoked to see this video- he's an absolute gearhead h ya'll were less than a mile from our house. With all your trips to the hardware store, we thank you for the business (our family store) Hope you like the sandwiches too 😉
Hey are you guys the hardware shop attached to the petrol station? If so I visited you last September, all the way from south England! I remember passing through Seeley lake on my way to the Bob, and I thought it was pretty cool seeing the town pop up in this video, small world hey. Some beautiful country you live in!
The thing that impresses me the most about Cody is that when the going gets tough, he always gives up. He doesn't seem to work very hard and doesn't like to get his hands dirty and is always sleeping. The way he avoids hard work or any labor whatsoever is inspiring. You give me hope for the future of this country.
If anyone didn't catch that, cody said basements are a downside because if you research kill dozer; you'll soon find out the demise of the kill dozer was in fact a basement.
@@rhiekel it's says the killdozer was a komatsu D355 while whistling diesels is a komatsu D355A so they could be two different variations of the komatsu D355
CODY building a killdozer , Komatsu D355A "Killdozer", an armored bulldozer used in a rampage in Granby, Colorado . Its armor was concrete between steel plates up to a foot thick in places, navigated by cctv, and had gunports for a .50, .308, and .22 long rifles
Foot = ~300mm+ armour of composite(!!!): steel & concrete. Aprox like modern tank frontal armour measouring stright though. You can't beat it easy even with regular modern 2024.Jan.+-year anti-tank weapones like as RPG's; Javelin's; ATGW's; NLAW's; FPV Drones; etc... even two decades laltter, since Marv's event. Also good luck with 105mm US Abrams M1 232-U shells at close to stight angles: less than 45 deg, closer than mile ~1.5km (maybe I'm wrong, just correct me). Just my opinion. P.S. I have been shoot all of them: .50; .308; .22, 12 gauge, 30-06, etc., my opinion: Useles at all against Marvel of Marv'.
It takes a lot of effort to get a channel to the point where you get sustainable views on videos without having anywhere near consistent uploads. Really shows how hard Cody is working
@@imaverageatgamesbutimostly3431 contrary to most of the haters opinions, he actually did come from nothing and is able and willing to do actual hard work. he built everything he is and his family did the same :P
I watched this video because my dad is the guy that says "I've got a town you can destroy" at 1:32 It's awesome to see this video! He has been working on this dozer since September.
My offroading buddies did use the fire trick with their Diesel trucks when it gets near -40°c in Quebec! _This mountain looks like a peaceful place when Cody is not arround 😂._
The shot of the fires smoke coming out of the radiator is one of the coolest things. And the genuine happiness on Cody's face when it starts is incredible! You guys are awesome and I can't wait to see what comes from this
This thing is one of the coolest pieces of equipment, even without the Marv history. So freaking cool that A) you got one and B) you got one from such a cool dude. Getting the shop manual with it seems like a flex on its own lol
